We were in need of repairs to make our chimney safe, and knew very little about what was wrong with it. We have an oil boiler, wood fireplace, and wood stove that all utilize the same chimney. Nathan gave us priority and shared his many years of experience with us. He gave us all our options and was always upfront about cost. He made the safety concerns a priority and squeezed us on the books, performing a replacement of our oil flue lining, and detailed inspection of the other two flue ways. I highly recommend him and his team, as he is devoted to paying attention to the details and doing honest business. We will be doing continued business to further address exterior work and the wood burning fireplace. Me and my husband are happy we chose A Good Sweep!

We were 100% satisfied with the services of Nathan Antrim's "A Good Sweep." In early January our 50 year old woodstove chimney was blown over in a major storm. We contacted "A Good Sweep" and Nathan came quickly, surveyed the damage, and provided a general idea of how to rebuild. With our approval Nathan returned the next day and put up tarps to protect exposed wood and insulation from winter snows. Since it was the depth of winter, repair work could not start immediately. But, Nathan got busy submitting detailed estimate to our insurance company, bringing us brick samples to select from and stopping by to discuss options for type of liner, flue, etc. After a rainy spring and work was able to commence Nathan and crew quickly rebuilt a new 35 foot brick chimney. Each step of the process Nathan himself completed the work or supervised his employees to meet his high standards. Workmanship was excellent and clean-up exemplary, even including spreading topsoil and sowing new lawn torn up by the falling chimney.
Two additional thoughts/comments-----
First. The final cost was the amount of the original estimate.
There were no additional fees or add-ons.
Second. The office staff, Heather and Noa, were always
friendly, professional and quick to respond to our
calls and questions. Thank-you.
These two factors mean a lot to customers.
Last comment....We highly recommend "A Good Sweep" for excellent workmanship and friendly, honest communication.

Just want to let Nathan and his coworker know that we couldn't be more pleased with the wood stove cleaning they performed for us. Very professional and went out of their way to install a new connector pipe. We've had a few other chimney sweeps and this business tops them all. Give them a call; you won't be sorry!

We were very pleased with the communication, timeliness of a non-emergency service and the knowledge of the technician. They provided us a safe and cost effective option that a competitor had not and we are so grateful that we decided to seek out a second opinion. From the first call to the office of A Good Sweep Chimney & Masonry Service to the follow up email from the owner after the repairs and everything in between, we were provided top notch customer service. I would absolutely recommend these guys to anyone.

I highly recommend Antrim's "A Good Sweep" for all your chimney needs. Nathan, Tristan and Weston did an absolutely fantastic job on our wood burning fireplace replacement. They worked well as a team, worked very clean, were respectful of our home, arrived on time, completed on time as promised and most of all, installed a very high quality replacement firebox and chimney replacement. We have used our fireplace heavily for over 30 years burning more than a cord a season. It's incredible how much easier the new fireplace starts and burns more effectively. I wish we had done this work sooner!

We used Antrims a few times this past year. It all started with getting an inspection which resulted in learning we needed (and wanted) to have exterior and interior work done on our fireplaces/chimney. This company was fantastic with communication as to when they would arrive each day, how long it would take, and what needed to be done. We are thrilled that not only is our home now very safe, it is extremely cozy now that we have our new wood stove insert and beautiful stone fireplace that Antrims installed for us. We could not be happier and do not plan to use any other company for our needs in the future. If you need their services, call them! You won’t be disappointed!

Antrim’s A Good Sweep does everything chimney from cleaning to repair/renovations to new construction. A Good Sweep is a small business that excels in customer service as well as their trade, which, in my experience, is unusual for small businesses. I called A Good Sweep because my stucco chimney had lots of the stucco peel off of the chimney during the first winter I used it. Tristan from A Good Sweep came out first to clean and inspect my chimney. Tristan explained that the problem was probably caused by someone painting the chimney with paint that should not be used on stucco. In less than a week, I received a detailed proposal to repair the chimney. I accepted the proposal with the chimney cap. Work started earlier than I expected. Each step of the way, Nathan, the owner, contacted me prior to the work being done to let me know when someone was coming out and what work was going to be done. The process takes time because things need to dry in between some of the steps. A Good Sweep removed the old cracking stucco, re-flashed, rebuilt the top of the chimney which was damaged even before the latest stucco explosion, re-lathed the chimney and applied two coats of stucco. The majority of the work was completed within four weeks. The cap was a custom order based on the dimensions of the top of my chimney which took a few more months to arrive. The process is a messy one, but A Good Sweep did a good job of cleaning up as they went. My chimney looks like a brand-new chimney, even better than the original chimney. I recommend Nathan, Tristan and A Good Sweep, both for their fantastic workmanship as well as their excellent customer service.Services: Rain cap installation

We had a new gas furnace installed and it was suggested that we also get a chimney inspection due to a questionable install of the previous furnace. We had another company do the initial chimney inspection and they gave us an estimate for repairs (needed a liner, masonry work at the crown, and a chimney cap.) We wanted to do our due diligence and get additional estimates if possible and Antrim's was one of the companies I contacted. This is going to be a lengthy review.Nathan looked over the inspection report from the other company and came out to perform his own inspection. His estimate came out under the first company's and my husband and I were pleased, not only for price, but the extra value it added. The first company was going to use sealant on the crown for an additional cost. Nathan told me that the chimney lasted over 100 years and said that repairing the masonry, rather than using sealant at the crown could potentially have the chimney last another 100 years. We decided to get the work done by Nathan and team.He squeezed us in for the inspection and repairs. Heather in the office is friendly and easy to work with. Nathan and Sidney arrived on time and finished the work to the chimney in one day. He showed us pics from the top and it looks great! I had the chase cover and flue cap replaced. Best choice that I made in picking Antrim's. They are honest and ethical. The workmen that werehere are real pros. They explained what they were doing and answeredany questions that I had. Friendly, hard working, caring men. Antrim'snot only does superb work, but they care.

We’ve been using Antrim’s for about 8 years now and I can’t say enough good things about them. We recently bought a new home with a smaller fireplace. We really wanted a wood burning insert like our old home but I wasn’t having any luck at the local dealers finding one that would fit. I reached out to Antrim’s because of the great service they provided us in the past. They didn’t disappoint. Nathan worked with me over several weeks to find the best option for us and to stay within our budget. And Tristan and team were fantastic with the installation. Very detailed and communicated throughout the process which is very rare these days, and much appreciated. We love the new insert and will continue to use A Good Sweep for any of our fireplace/chimney needs.
