I'd give them negative stars if I could. I called about some complications from my surgery and they never got back a hold of me. I called them and the nurse in GYN said they tried calling once and there was a buzzing noise. She was very patronizing and I asked why they didn't try that number again and she wouldn't answer my question. they could have sent a message to MyGeisinger portal or something. the number they tried was correct. I'm completely done with Geisinger. I'm switching all of my care.

Would rank negative stars if I could. I had an ENT appointment scheduled and confirmed for today at 11am. They called and left a voicemail that they had a "couple questions for me" and to call back. So I called back, and then once they had me on the phone they told me they were cancelling my appointment an hour before the scheduled appointment time. I asked the reason and they couldn't give me one. I took off work for this appointment. I have been seen here before multiple times recently and I have chronic sinus issues. They told me to go to urgent care. What a joke. This seems extremely unethical and unprofessional. I will never be going back.

Dr sparks is the worse doctor I have ever been forced to see. I said something upon check out and they said you must have seen doctor sparks. I said how did you know. Told me there was nothing wrong with my knee even though a mri confirms otherwise. Spent less than 2 mins with me. Didn’t listen to a thing I said. If you’re not happy practicing medicine or can’t have any care, stop practicing. Don’t waste your time with this man. As 34 year old I should be able to walk normally, without a cane, but this doctor suggested otherwise. Told me it was my spine, spinal mri was totally clear and normal(he could see this as he reviewed it). If the office staff is aware how this doctor behaves someone should probably step in and do something about it

They got rid of all the check-in people in favor of self serve kiosks. Not good.

Dr was wonderful. Went to check out and the two receptionists were too busy discussing their lunch break, never even looked up at me, didn’t say May I help you not a word. I finally just sat down at one of their desks and waited. Three stars because I had to. No stars for such lousy customer service

We travel an additional 30 minutes just to see Doctor D. He is an amazing Doctor. His group of nurses today were also incredible.

When I started using Geisinger at this location in 2008, I was amazed. They were always on time, the doctors were on point, and you could see every specialist in one health system. Obama held up Geisinger as a prime example of healthcare in a speech about the Affordable Care Act.Sixteen years later, I can barely give Geisinger two stars and am considering leaving. Lateness is horrible - 20 minutes is a normal wait time now. I even told one of the doctors I couldn't get a blood test one morning because she showed up to work so late that I no longer had time before my next meeting. That's when you can actually get an appointment, and that's why I'm considering leaving. I asked for a referral to a therapist, as did my mom, and both times our requests were simply ignored. We didn't receive a reply stating no therapist appointments were available; Geisinger simply didn't respond. This happened twice, so it was not a single person's human error. On July 26, it was determined that my elevated hemoglobin deserved some research. The condition could lead to a stroke eventually if left untreated. So, I started seeing multiple doctors. First, an oncologist determined that it was not likely I had cancer, which was fortunate given that the cancer might have gotten out of control in the two months that took to find out. Then, it took 65 days to get an "initial consultation" with the sleep medicine department, which, as GPT-4 told me on July 27, would yield nothing except that I needed to get a sleep test. For an unknown reason, it took Geisinger another 35 days to order an at-home sleep test, which will now take 4-6 weeks to read the results from, and 2 more weeks to start treatment after that, at minimum. That's about six months during which I am at elevated risk of a life-altering blood clot. After getting fed up with these waits, I searched the Internet and discovered that there are telemedicine companies that will skip the useless initial consultation and order an actual test directly, ship it to you, and review the results within 12 hours.Having found this, my recommendation to those needing any specialist at Geisinger is as follows: spend $20 to sign up for OpenAI ChatGPT Plus. Use the "Vision" feature of GPT-4 to input medical records and work with it to get some possible diagnoses. Use the "browse with bing" GPT-4 feature to search for reputable telemedicine providers, look at their Google reviews, and then call one of them. This way, you still get a human doctor who is an expert in medicine to make sure you don't hurt yourself, but you don't have to wait for ages and you can save hundreds of dollars instead of paying for "initial consultations" that provide no value because no action can be taken without testing data.Geisinger is too slow and AI has provided better options in today's world. It's not worth waiting 5-6 months for treatment, with 20-minute+ delays every time. If Geisinger can make appointments available sooner and get their doctors to be on time again, I'll return.

Bad appointment handling in an urgent situation. Now, I have to take my kid to ER/Urgent care instead because they gave the appointment slot away before blocking the earlier time! Also, their referral specialists are all out of network.
Will be moving all the kids to Mt Nittany Group!

I have been coming to Geisinger Healthplex State College for over a year now. I'd not go anywhere else but here. I have not had any issues or bad experiences with any Dr, nurses, staff members or receptionists. You all have been beyond amazing to me, upfront and honest. I can't say that about the Drs I've seen in my area since the early '90's. Seems after mid 1990's those in Blair County bit the dust, too many bad doctors in this area. I think we got all the ones that cheated their way to graduating medical school, I kid you not!Geisinger is the best and I'll go nowhere else. Well worth my travels. Those complaining about Geisinger/Geisinger Healthplex Drs, nurses, staff and receptionists, I've to ask, 'How's your attitude and communication skills"?Might want or need to check them.

My appointment for an at home sleep study was scheduled well over a month ago. I showed up today 30 minutes early, after waiting and hour and a half I asked the front desk if the sleep medicine department was running behind. As they tried to research this they told me to have a seat. 20 minutes later a lady comes out and tells me they gave my sleep study machine to the wrong patient and that I needed to wait 30 more minutes for the other patient to return the sleep machine. This has been so very frustrating and very unprofessional. They were notified when I was checked in so why did it take almost an hour to realize the mistake. You are to check patients name and birthdate and verify these things. Here's to waiting 30+ more minutes.

When I was 13 I had an appointment with a gastroenterologist at Geisinger for debilitating stomach pain. At this appointment I was told by the doctor that the symptoms were all in my head. I noted how I often felt sick when I was stressed and was told "what do you have to be stressed about? You're 13!" This interaction is the root of a lot of health trauma and mistrust that plagued my teen and adult life.10 years later I was officially diagnosed last week with a REAL not-in-my-head syndrome by a doctor who instead of gaslighting me, listened and validated my symptoms and experiences. It is possible for doctors to do better. It is a shame that it took me over a decade to move on from one lousy doctor who couldn't bother to listen.
