I chose this place specifically because their lounge closes at 2am (like it said on the website) since I like to have my dinner late at night. When I went down around 11pm, the lounge was already closed. I asked the front desk and they said the lounge closes if there isn't anyone around. Makes sense, but then it should say that on the website. I was starving for the night. There were many other minor and not so minor issues... - elevators are dirty - flies feed on the desserts first - hair dryer is dirty - windows in the lounge have bird p*** on them - nobody mans the front desk in the middle of the day - dinner menu never on display even though they said it "should" be - not enough heat and makes a loud noise when it's on - zero bathroom counter space - water pressure is weak, more like a drizzle - sandwich is smaller than the handful of fries - poorly staffed, nobody answers the phone - wifi signal is weak, don't even think about downloading the latest podcast for the ride home - tv remote is broken - vending machine on my floor was broken, had to go to another floor - breakfast is ok, expected better for the price; no cereal or fruit (canned or whole), nothing freshly sliced - water in the morning from the lobby has a coffee taste - their "detailed" hiking maps are not detailed - when ordering takeout from the lounge, they enter the order electronically but the system does not have some of the menu items and nobody was able to figure out why

So sad to see a place so dated and run down. It must have been really something 50 years ago. Such a shame. The same is true for most of the hotels in the area it seems. The people who work here are very nice and welcoming. This place probably needs 200 million for renovations and two years to do it. Shame

For paying over $150 a night I expected more. Here for the Pocono air show as son was performing. Thought ok only here for 2 days of luxury, not at this place. 80's vibe throwback resort. Painting of lodges sorely needed. Chipped furniture, WiFi sucks. Ice machines in both lodges out of order. Updated rooms needed. Not ev n trying meals here due to poor reviews.

Had lunch at Pocono Manor Golf Club today after golf. My husband & I had the turkey club , it was delicious. Our other two partners had a cheeseburger and fries & sausage & peppers sandwich. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their lunches. I got to try the fries, cooked & seasoned perfectly. (Steak cut). I would highly recommend stopping in for lunch.

This is the MOST OKAY place ever. It's not terrible. It's not great it's just kind of ok. The room. It's not big. It's not small. It's kind of ok. But it has beds and they aren't super comfortable. They aren't bad. They're kind of ok. You like pools. Cool. There's a pool. It's not the cleanest or the warmest. But it's an ok pool. But John how's the food? You want a burger? Perfect. There are burgers. Is it great? Def not. Its not bad tho. Its average at best. Ok it you will. What temperature are the eggs for breakfast? Room temp of course. You won't have to microwave them but they certainly aren't right off the pan. They're ok though. The pancakes taste like they are made with one egg less than the recipe calls for. It's not a bad thing. They're ok. But the service has to be great right? Well yea if you expect mediocre service with a smile but not hustle. Say you gave smile and hustle scores 1-10 and averaged them. You'd get a 5 here. Which is ok. Are the towels nice and big and plush though? Well in fact... no they are medium sized and not super rough but certainly not super soft either. I'd say they're ok. I'm writing this as I sit in the lamplighter pub on premise. The people here are they young and fun you ask? No not young. Not fun. But don't worry. Not old. Mostly 55 I'd say with average salary's and a decent car lease. Probably an upgraded Toyota of sorts. Kind of... ok. If you want an ok time. THIS PLACE WILL BE...ok.

I was excited to here based on the beautiful website, but was sadly disappointed by my experience. There seemed to be large family reunions that reserved certain areas of the place (no signage anywhere, so we got yelled at by one family when we stumbled upon their "reserved" lodge). Condition (2/5): the hotel, which is on the National Historic Registry, had a long, proud history. Sadly, it needs an update. Our air conditioning in our room was so loud we couldn't hear each other over the din and had to shut our bathroom door, the squeaking was so loud. The water dripped out of the faucet and it kept going from hot to cold, often without warning. Service (3/5): Every one I met was friendly. We really appreciated the service at The Lamplighter lounge (separate review). However, the staff didn't seem interested in cleaning the place up, for example, we wanted to swim in the pool, but there was trash everywhere. Value (2/5): For $200 for a small, cramped room not in great condition, seemed not great. For a "resort", there was not much to do. Food options were only the bar (Lamplighter Lounge) or the $13 breakfast buffet or $39 four course meal for dinner.

The views are grounds are beautiful. We had similar experiences with housekeeping. The towels and soaps would be removed and not replenished-daily. It took several calls to the main desk before someone would deliver the supplies. Unfortunately, the place is understaffed for the number of summer guests. The sports facility is a trek away from the building, with one shuttle serving all of the guests-to the sports facility, to the activity center for archery, shooting. The hayride is not on the premises, but at another location. We were advised we could book the activities upon arrival, but not in advance. We had to wait until the next day to do so. Food in the Lamplighter is marginal, but excellent in the Exchange and the buffet breakfast is extensive. The room AC (think robot in appearance) cooled the room, but was extremely noisy. Service at Laurel Spa is rushed, leaving one feeling as if one is on a conveyor belt. My email to management has resulted in no reply to date. Neglected to post after our visit during the summer, 2015.

From the outside, this place looked beautiful. However, everything is very outdated and doesn't look like it had ever been updated since it first opened. The interior looked ten times better online. I think this resort has a lot of potential to be something wonderful. You will notice chipped paint on the walls and stains on the carpet, and a strange smell when walking through the hallways. There are lots of families and lots of activities available. There is a board in the front lobby with a list of activities. We stayed sat night and didn't see anything listed for Sunday so keep that mind if you're planning to stay for a Sunday. There is a movie theater and an arcade, two pool tables and a ping pong table. The movie theater has a schedule and is basically a TV with couches. The pool table and arcade costs money. There is also an indoor pool and it is is open from 10-10. There is also a fitness center. Free coffee and tea in the morning in the lobby. No complimentary breakfast but they do have a breakfast buffet available for about $14 per person. Also, there are ice machines on every floor and some vending machines on the first floor as well. No refrigerators but you can have one sent to the room for $15. Parking was free and we got the last available spot when we arrived at 1030pm. Worst part is that YOU WILL HEAR EVERYTHING that happens outside your room! I was woken up at least three times during the night by people laughing and having conversations in the hallway outside my room. Not only will you clearly hear every word, it also echos. You will hear every footstep as well. We booked on Expedia and it a standard room with two double beds cost $139. We mainly stayed here so we could visit CamelBack Mountain because GPS said it was only about a 15 min drive from this location. Overall, cozy feeling and I would consider staying again. Resort has been around for over 100 years and it shows, in both positive and negative ways.

Website Lies. This hotel advertises itself at pet friendly - including specifically talking about which room types are pet friendly and which are not, all over it's website. But it has apparently changed this policy without telling anyone - I suddenly have nowhere to say two days before my trip!

When you first walk in everything is very clean and welcoming. We enjoyed seeing the pictures of the history of the place ! The rooms were quiet smaller than what we expected. The water pressure is horrible ! It took about 10minutes before I got any hot water. There is an arcade and pool downstairs. They offer daily movies and have a pool table downstairs as well. Once our stay was confirmed we called prior to schedule our horse carriage ride and dog sled tour but we were told that all can be scheduled the night we arrived. WRONG. We had to call the next day, found out both places are their own entity and didn't operate coincide with the inn. The dog sled was FULLY booked up all the way through march. And there were no horse carriage rides during winter, so we ended up riding horses instead. Found out there was new management at the inn, well thats just sad that they can't manage to figure things out with the stuff they offer. On the bright side the pubs bartenders are so friendly we might just be coming back to see Paul and Amy.

I'm staying in this hotel with my husband trying to relax and enjoy our valentines week, is my first night and I just want to leave, our room is small, the bathrooms are not properly clean, the bed doesn't have bed sheets, we called the front desk and they said they don't have sheets for king size bed... I don't recommend this place! Is my first and last time here...!

Wow that one of the worst places I have visited. The outside temperature 22f and the heating system stop working every night from 1am till 9am. The hotel provided very thin blankets so it was making the experience even worst. When I booked the facility guarenteed wifi but when we got go the room we have told the wifi doesnt work since there are many people who using it which was not true since there was no wifi signal.
