I called and the receptionist sounded clueless. I shared what I was needing and was told I would get a call back and never got one. Won't be using their services.

BEWARE!!!! This was a good firm in the past. Our small business has used their services since 2001 with not issues until recently. Cotton Mathers processes the company payroll and handles the direct deposits. One employee contacted the account firm to have the checking account for his paycheck updated to a new bank/account. On payday he received numerous NSF’s from the new bank, the individual at the accounting firm updated the COMPANY banking info to the employee’s new banking info (on a Friday of course). This caused multiple fees not only from his bank but also any bill payments he made. After several attempts to reach the accountant we were successful. Her response ‘someone in the office did that’, no apology just a deflection of the blame. Assured it would be corrected. Fast forward to next pay cycle and you guessed it, payroll was taken out of the EMPLOYEE’S account. The bank was gracious enough the first time to waive the fees but not the second time. Now it’s tax time, information was given to this account in early March and we were assured both business and personal taxes would be completed by April 15th. April 15th told they would be filing for an extension for both business and personal taxes but they would be done ASAP. April 25th assured us they would be done by April 29th. Today May 3rd we were told maybe by May 6th if not probably by May 9th. This is not a firm to be trusted with financial information.

I should have heeded the signs when the firm lost my information and social security number that I provided during the initial intake conversation. However, I followed up with staff and was provided with a secure link to submit my tax documents. I spoke with the accountant that was assigned to me and she told me that my return was almost complete and that she had a couple of questions. I answered her questions and felt pretty good that my tax return would be submitted on time. Two days later, I receive an email stating that Cotton Mather cannot file my tax return due to my "unique" situation and that I would need a tax attorney. It is 10 days before the filing deadline, and I wasn't provided with a warm hand-off or an offer to file a tax extension. Additionally, I discussed the details of my tax return with the person that prepared (and lost) the intake. I am very disappointed in the service I received and I think this situation could have been handled better.

Holy $#!+ I'll never do my own taxes again. They made it so easy. I almost paid just as much to do them myself because of my 1099s.

I've never been happier or have felt more taken care of by another CPA / firm. Chrissy and Lisa are sincerely wonderful to work with. They've gone above and beyond to help me with my business. I consider them trusted partners in what I do and they are true experts in their field. Thankful to have found them :)

It always takes several calls and emails to get any type of response from this accountant if you have a question. Be prepared to file for extensions every year when working with these people.

I have always used turbotax to do my taxes. But as my family finances have become more and more complicated, we end up wasting too much time doing taxes. I hired Chrissy and I was amazed at how adept they were. Before I hired Chrissy I had contacted multiple other local EAs and CPAs (those that charge $100), and the MAJORITY of then knew less than me when it came to IRAs/401K. I simply did not trust them. But this company definitely knows what they are doing, and I trust them. I will be using them moving forward. Will be saving me lot of time and headache.

I have had wonderful, professional and reliable service from W Cotton Mather, CPA. I loved working with Susan. Even in the busiest time of the tax season, she handled my personal tax return timely. Also everyone is very friendly in this office, so we have had wonderful conversation while preparing tax return.
I highly recommend them to anyone.

What would have been the biggest headache in the world was solved so easily through this firm. They repeatedly spoke with the IRS to get their questions answered and issues resolved. Huge thanks to Kevin and Chrissy!
