I am a chef who cooks with a lot of different salts and seasonings. Steel City Salt Co. has the best quality, flavor and selection in Pittsburgh. I've loved all of the products I've sampled and purchased; great as finishing salts, too! The owner is extremely knowledgeable and personable and staff is always happy and available to help you make the best selection for your dishes.

So many different spice options, not just salt! I came here to find some popcorn seasonings and they had a "Row House Cinema Roayale with Cheese Popcorn Sprinkle". Perfect! I also got a "Salted Caramel Sugar" which has organic cane sugar, sea salt and caramel. I bought a couple of other spices to include the "maple jalapeño blend" which has sea salt, Paul's Family Farms Maple, and jalapeño chili pepper. I love how they incorporate local ingredients in their products. Finally, I got the Peruvian Inca Blend, which I can't wait to try next time we make some Peruvian food!They also had merch and some other food items, like oils, vinegars, and other jarred items. It's a great little local shop.

Great local business with great customer service!! Got hooked a couple months ago on their sriracha salt and recently ordered a bunch more! They arrived super well packed and super quickly, very happy with the products!

Amazing people! And the most amazing products! Buy the salt in Millvale, the Strip or before you take off at the airport. You can find it anywhere. Which is great because it makes the perfect gift!

I’ve purchased Steel City Salt Company products at a local store in the past and everything is great! I recently placed my first online order and was so impressed...everything arrived quickly, was packaged so carefully, and they included a handwritten note, a sample, and a magnet! Highly recommend- for both the quality of their products and their customer service!

I can't believe I've waited so long to review. I've ordered now many times since last spring for both myself and gifts for others. The quality of the items can't be matched. I think at this point I own almost every item. I can't use store brands anymore. Most every item comes in a few sizes so once you purchase initially you can order a refil bag. The price point is perfect. The customer service is BEYOND. I received my order as usual in under 48 hours. This included very well packed and protected items along with cards with an explanation and tips for the items. Also a few samples! The invoice included a hand written thank you. SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. You will not be let down. I hope to visit in person soon

Wow, just wow! I just ordered my first batch of different salts from Steel City, and I can't recommend them highly enough! The taste is awesome, and the packaging superb. I will definitely be a repeat, faithful customer of their products. I first heard about this company a few years back when visiting my Aunt in Washington state. She introduced me to the Ghost Pepper Sea Salt. My dad (her brother) then bought this product for me as gifts. I just love it. I ordered refill pouches recently because I go through it quickly. The delivery was super fast and a sample was included which was a pleasant surprise. I take this Salt with me everywhere I go. It truly is that good! Also, the hand written note on the order slip was a nice addition. Thanks John!!

Steel City Salt is a local treasure! I've enjoyed their salts in my own home as well as gifted them to out-of-towners who want a flavor (pun intended) of Pittsburgh. They have an amazingly wide variety of salt types that go with just about any dish. The salts come in very cute little labeled glass bottles. Gift boxes come with descriptions of each salt variety and recommended uses. Some of my favorites: - Mesquite: Great smoky flavor for any kind of meat - Black truffle: Truffle mushroom flavor for your carb-heavy dishes - Ghost pepper: You need just a hint of this to give any dish a big kick! - Lemon-lime: Got this one for my in-laws, who loved it on margaritas This is just a fraction of what they have, so give their website a look for the full rundown!

We recently tried a friend's ghost pepper salt and knew we had to have more! We ordered more ghost pepper plus dill pickle salt, maple jalapeno salt, and malt vinegar salt. It's all SOOOOO GOOOOODDDDD!!! They shipped fast and packed well. I have a feeling we'll need to order more very soon ;)
