The sales rep was extremely helpful, I wish I could remember his name so I could put it in this message. I will come back to Rockler because of his help and advice. Thanks

I called this location in the morning of January 15th in hopes of buying a SawStop PCS 3.0HP with 36 inch T-Glide fence. On the phone I asked about purchasing or putting a deposit down over the phone as I am a good hour away from their location and was informed that purchases must be made in person. So I let them I would be stopping in sometime today to do just that. After an hour long drive, I entered the store and saw it was empty aside from a few employees. Nonegreeted me or my f as we entered, but I didn’t think anything of it at first. Some time went on as we looked at the demo saw, and a couple employees made eye contact but never offered help or assistance. The group of employees then dispersed and left us in an empty showroom.Frustrated with the matter, I wrote a note with my number stating I came to buy the SawStop and was heading to Woodcraft to complete the purchase after my experience here. I then got a call from their store and got in touch with their manager who told me that they had a truck delivery and he had 2 employees helping with that. After me explaining how I even called ahead, he offered more excuses about the truck being unloaded and a half hearted promise to do better next time. After this experience, there will certainly be no next time for me at this Rockler and I will most certainly go to Woodcraft next time where myself and my money are valued.Highly recommend avoiding this location and spending your hard earned money elsewhere.1/16 Update: Rockler’s district manager reached out by phone to discuss my experience and apologize for the sour taste it has left me with the company and said that he understood my position on the matter. After another promise to do better on their end, the phone call was ended and I will continue taking my business elsewhere. It seems Rockler doesn’t care if you are a customer of theirs or not, and if you are planning to buy a SawStop, or any other tool, I would highly recommend shopping elsewhere. Plenty of other reasonable alternatives.

The staff was both friendly and helpful. I was asked by multiple sales staff if I needed help. They were pretty knowledgeable about their inventory and helped me find what I was looking for. The store also has a fair amount of inventory and it's hard to imagine them not having what you need. Lumber is expensive here, as with most companies/stores like this. It's ok for one piece, but you may want to look elsewhere for your lumber needs.

Tom was great and the entire shopping experience was above and beyond was I expected. I went into the store to see if I could get a small slat made for a bookshelf support. And even though that is not a service that is normally provided, Tom and his manager agreed to make one for me and helped me pick out the right type of paint for the slat.I am very thankful for the help that Tom provided me when I visited the store that day and I would recommend Rockler Woodworking and Hardware to anyone interested in gaining assistance with their woodworking projects.Thank you again !!!

Not a very friendly or helpful staff. Walked around for around 10 minutes 3 workers there and all of them made eye contact with me. Not a single one asked if I needed help or even acknowledged me.

The reason I go to a brick and mortar store is for some customer service. I stopped going to the Rockler store in the North Hills because of their lack of friendly, helpful service. They made me feel like I was bothering them for asking questions. I went to the Rockler store in Robinson a few days ago and received the same rude attitude and unhelpful service. Once again the sales associate could not be bothered to help me for more than one minute and walked away without solving my problem. It’s not that they were busy, there were 2 customers and 4 employees in the store.Rockler corporation, if you’re listing, you need to fix your employee attitude!I’ll be shopping online. Rockler online customer service is much better.

We honestly came to Pittsburgh just for Ikea, but when I saw a woodworking store right across from it, I just had to stop in. I recently started carving, and hoped to pick up some larger pieces of wood. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and when I mentioned that I was fairly new to carving, pointed out some of their 'project wood,' which was a bit less expensive than the basswood I went in looking for. So I ended up with more wood that I expected for less than expected. And honestly? As a woman going into a new store, I have often had less-than-stellar experiences being talked down to, etc. But the staff here? Never once made me feel less than welcome in their space, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. This is a store I will definitely be coming back to.

My husband LOVES this store! The guys that were working the day we were there were SO nice and helpful. The store has many tools on display so you can actually pick them up and see how sturdy they are. These tools are for people who want and/or need quality that's gonna hold up to a lot of use over a long period of time. Another thing we love about this store is the nice selection of rare woods available. They have some here that you won't find anywhere else (almost anywhere else I guess). They also offer various training classes here. It's not often we're over this way, but when we are we come in.

Excellent place for woodworkers. When you need to lay hands on the equipment or you need to browse. These people work hard to help you compare and discuss options for me, a newbie to the woodworking craft.

Finally, a hardwood source near Pittsburgh! Great mix of hardwood basics (oak, cherry, maple) and some exotics too. Every member of the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I take advantage of the "hardwood of the month" every month!

Wish there was a store closer to the north east side of Pittsburgh, because Rockler Woodworking unquestionably has the best assortment of woodworking supplies in the Pittsburgh, PA area. The store is amazing.
