This review is based on only my first visit. So, I will update as time passes. I lost my last cat due to severe cancer that was missed by my previous vet due to neglect or ignorance (long story, but at the ER they could feel and see the massive tumor ravaging her.) I decided to adopt someone new and needed a new vet. My guy is tolerant of change more than average as a former stray, but the first vet we attempted still scared him and was very rough and unnecessarily short. I got worried that this would affect him in future visits as my last cat was terrified of vets and the car. PHPH was so nice from start to finish. My cat didn't make a sound or even struggle. The tech and Dr did very well handling and examining him. He obviously wasn't happy about it, what cat loves travel and strangers holding them? But he was way more chill. They seemed very informed and were fast and efficient.
I hope that this means good things for care down the line. I've decided that this will be his new vet for now. The front desk staff was also great.

Tony is always treated well, and the vet always answers all of my questions. With all of his medical issues, he has received the utmost of care and I am very grateful for your staff and vets for treating him well and with patience, and for basically helping me to keep him alive and with me still.

They did a great job with my puppies, gave them lots of love and cheese to keep them distracted with the shots and microchip. I've been there 3 times total now for shots and even just to get my little ones' nails cut. I love going there!

I highly advise you look elsewhere for pet care. Their treatment of established patients is terrible. I had taken my cat Otis there for 16 years. He’s a 17 yr old sr cat who is now blind. In May, he had an ingrown toenail that needed care. I called during the week and they couldn’t fit me in for weeks and told me to go to an emergency vet. I found another vet who could take him that day. They fixed his paw and got him on antibiotics. Now at the new vet, they had to give him his yearly rabies shot because they had not seen him prior. No big deal, he was due soon. This week, I went to pickup my expensive prescription food at PHPH and was informed they would no longer provide a prescription because I didn’t come in yet for a yearly. I explained I could provide documentation for rabies but they just wanted $150 out of me for a sr visit for my 17 year old cat who gets anxious going into the office. I also mentioned to them that I would have come in if they could have seen my pet when he needed care. The receptionist was extremely rude to me -Skyler. She treated me so poorly and showed zero interest in my pet’s situation. I didn’t even care to speak to a manager there she was so mean. They have a few kind vets there like Dr Kelly and Dr Fruman but the overall business practices are terrible. Their techs aren’t the best either. They can never seem to do blood/urine draws in the same tech appt. I’ve never successfully had both done at the same time. I’ve also had issues where they don’t even know what my cat is in for or they incorrectly scheduled me. Try Cheyenne Veterinary Clinic, you won’t be sorry. My account number was 31517 so you can match this review properly since Otis is listed under my maiden name.

I've been bringing my Border Collie, Yosee, to Pleasant Hills Pet Hospital since she was 3 months young, she's 9-months now and I couldn't be happier with the care she receives. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, and compassionate, and always takes the time to explain everything clearly. Whether it's a routine check-up or a more urgent concern, I know Yosee is in great hands.
Pleasant Hills Pet Hospital is well-maintained, and the team genuinely cares about the well-being of their fur babies. Yosee always receives the best care, and it's clear the staff loves what they do. They're all so very patient with Yosee and her Border Collie antics.
My only suggestion would be to consider extending the hours, including later evenings and weekends again. It would make scheduling appointments much easier, especially for those of us with busy weekdays.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the service and care provided. The team here is truly exceptional, and I highly recommend Pleasant Hills Pet Hospital to anyone looking for a place that treats your pet like family.

Dr. Mihalic and Dr. Kelly have been great with my dog. He had a luxating patella, heart problems and then a collapsed trachea. Dr. Kelly performed successful knee surgery and gave clear instructions for post surgery along with rechecks. He also prescribed a medication which has greatly diminished the trachea symptoms. They promptly referred me to Pittsburgh veterinarian specialty for the heart. Dr. Mihalic has been my vet for 3 dogs over the years and I am extremely grateful for all she has done.
