Perfect date night!!!! Went to a class where my girlfriend & I both made our own pint glasses & had some delicious beer from 2 Frays. I dont know if it's the beer, or the super fun and unique experience, but we had greatest time! *also shoutout to instructor Leo, couldn't have asked for a better guide through it!

Went to a Make-it-Now event, Gather and Brew with Necromancer Brewing, to make a beer glass. Our instructor, Blaine, was so fun and knowledgeable. We had such a great time learning about glass blowing. Enjoyed sampling the beer and visiting the gallery. This is such a great asset to Pittsburgh. I highly recommend visiting and taking a class.

If you’ve wanted to try a class you really should. I’m not an artistic or crafty person so I was nervous to take my first class here. The instructor was amazing at explaining the process and making us, a room full of newbies, feel confident in what we were doing.

Our girl scout troop went and we made a fused glass craft and watched two artists make a beautiful fluted bowl. All of the instructors were wonderful with the kids. The glass blowing process is fascinating! We had a wonderful time!

I absolutely loved the flameworked hearts class. The space is clean, bright, and industrial with a little showroom and some stuff for sale. The flame shop is laid out nicely and has everything you need to make some fun creations. This two hour workshop started with a demo. She went over the tools and materials and then walked us through making a heart (either a magnet or a pendant). The steps were actually pretty simple and she explained each one well without sucking up a ton of time. Then it was off to create. I did one heart and then thinking about what I might actually do with more hearts, switched to Christmas ornaments. LOL. The time flew and the process was surprisingly relaxing. I easily could have spent a few more hours there. We will see for sure in 5 days, but I am fairly confident that I might actually like and use what I created. That's no small feat, as I don't consider myself very artistic and generally toss my creations right into the trash.

I have been to the Pittsburgh Glass Center twice now. Once for a class on fused glass and then this past weekend with a small group on glass blowing. The center is awesome. So many different things you can do with glass. I recommend getting a tour. We had Mishawn and Roswell for our tour. Both super knowledgeable. They also did a demo on glass blowing where they made a bowl. It's really cool to watch all the steps of the process and to really appreciate the work that goes into making a piece. After the demo, our group got to make ornaments. We picked our colors and participated in the glass blowing. At the end it goes into a 900 degree oven for a day. I cannot wait to see the finished product!

Today, my wife and I went to the Pittsburgh Glass Center for a 2 hour session where we made blown glass pumpkins with their staff. The class had about 15 people, but we each recieved about 30 minutes of instruction total + 2 pumpkins each!We were thrilled with Jaclyn, Zack, and Theo(or Leo). It was a bit loud and I was too embarrassed to ask Theo/Leo his name a 3rd time.Anyways, they were incredible and working with them made for a great afternoon date.

Nice place to visit. They offer classes teaching the art of glassblowing. From June 4 to August 6 they have free glass blowing demonstrations at 12:30 on the 2nd floor. On the 1sr floor there is a small gallery displaying glass sculptures and a gift shop.
