I was completely satisfied with my visit. I had bought some fish that died due to my lack of knowledge and they had me come in and exchange them for three more. The customer service from Taylor went above anything I could have expected.

Went on Saturday with my gram to the pleasant hills location, Taylor one of the managers spent about 45 min to an hour trying to find my gram the perfect size harness for her dog. Taylor even gave her a discount when we checked out. Thank you for going out of your way to make my grandma's day Taylor!

Love this store!! BUT, no longer will I take my children there. This has always been a pet store, a store for your pets. Not a store for kids toys. I walk into the store with my two children and we are greeted with Legos. Why Legos at a pet store? Whose bright idea was that? The meltdowns that occurred for not getting my kids a toy at the pet store is ridiculous. My little one has been crying all afternoon because I wouldn't let her get a toy at the pet store. Please go back to being a pet store, not a store for kids toys. This isn't fair to parents who just want to go to the pet store and do not anticipate having deny toys right off the bat. This was not a good idea. A quick trip to get bunny food turned into a major ordeal. Thanks for the afternoon headache!

I am not reviewing any particular location. Been a member for a long time. Use their app so they can track food purchases, every 9th bag is free. Not a bad deal.
Long story short, they've lost all our information. We are not members, don't belong to the food loyalty program, etc. On the phone with customer service forty minutes, extremely difficult for me to understand her English, end result was all is fixed, everything is recovered and good news, your next bag is free. Give the app 24 hours to update.
So yeah..... nothing changed. The app never reflected this recovery, the store can't find me at all, and so on. Tried customer service one more time. What a comedy show. Well you're not a member, only members get a free bag. OMG, just shoot me. Bye Bye Petco

I debated writing this but it really irritated me so why not. I brought my 5 year old here about 2-3 weeks ago now to get some fish. I grabbed a temporary container and other things that would be needed as we got the tank setup. The guy that actually got us the fish was very nice, and seemed VERY knowledgeable as I overheard him helping other guests. We go into line which was quite literally halfway into the store with how busy it was. As we SLOWLY got closer to the register a worker there starts yelling from the hamster cages to one of the cashiers that she needs her off register IMMEDIATELY. Meanwhile we've waited in line 30 minutes at this point. There was a dead hamster in the cage that the lady had just grabbed one out of for a girl to take home. This worker did the honor system by asking the girl if she was 18 (she looked very young) instead of asking for ID. That worker then hopped on register right when it was my turn to checkout, I didn't get a hi how are you I got "phone number" in a very annoyed tone, I gave it and started putting my things up she goes "you're not seriously putting these fish in here are you" again annoyed tone to which I replied "yes for now" she then goes "they'll be dead in 3 days" in front of my 5 year old who can understand what she's saying. I then explained this is a temporary home for a temporary situation and that I don't appreciate her saying that in front of my child. She just kept on with saying that many fish (3) would die in there blah blah. I will never be coming back here. My child now thinks everything we do will kill his fish. ? Selling someone an animal when one is lying dead right next to it and lines that take literally 45 minutes to get through to then be degraded by an employee? (Possibly the manager the way she was acting all high and mighty) No thanks. The fish guy with the long blonde hair and way more knowledge than the rude lady saw no problem with TEMPORARILY keeping fish in a TEMPORARY container ??♀️??♀️ petsmart from here on out. I wish I would've got names but I was so irritated I just wanted out of there. This lady had longer dark hair and looked to be in her late 30's.
