I called and she didn't have what I was looking for, but gave me information in the right direction. Very helpful and kind.

Very beautiful pieces and a very neat workshop in the back. The owner welcomed us into the workshop area and chatted a bit with us. Worth a stop in!

I stopped in randomly making my way through The Strip District a few months ago. After looking at his work, I felt I had found the right person to make the urn for my father's remains. My father died 7 years ago, so you can imagine I've been looking for a while. He was kind and respectful, and our whole encounter, he was honest about what he could and couldn't do.He reached out when it was completed, but I was in the middle of a bunch of different crises. He held it for over a month, waiting for me to be able to get there without ever pressuring me. I finally picked it up today. It is exactly what I wanted simple but one of a kind.

Great collection of pottery from a handful of Pittsburgh pottery artists. Something for everybody with a kiln on site where they cook their latest collections.

Great little shop displaying hundreds of locally made pottery pieces. Lamps, local honey, bowls, tableware, etc. This shop has it all. Reasonably priced, super friendly staff, and cute little venue that anyone should check out.

Penn Avenue Pottery is an attraction for anyone interested in the arts and visiting Pittsburgh's Strip district. It features a variety of glazed and baked pots, cases, housewares, and other artisan objects. They sell hand made cards, artwork and Pittsburgh specific souvenirs. They sell works of local artists making this a popular stop for native Pittsburghers and visitors alike. The shop is located next door to Cafe Raymond where you can stop afterwards to have a meal and admire your purchases. A fun stop for leisure shopping!

You would think that someone who lives in Berkeley could find some great potter locally, right? After looking for GREAT mugs for a couple of years - seriously - I stumbled into Penn Avenue Pottery while hanging out on the Strip with my fabulous Sissy. Ye gads!!! My mugs!!!! I bought two and quickly regretted not buying more -so I called and had Bill send me 6! Now I am happy with 8 great mugs in California! Thanks Pittsburgh. Now stop telling kids it's okay to do unspeakably bad things - ditch Michael Vick - and we can all be friends again. I grew up there. I was always so proud. Clean it up.

Local art in the Strip District We stopped in Penn Avenue Pottery because I'm married to an artist and he loves to support the local arts. He quickly engaged in conversation with the super cool guy behind the counter. They talked about the local art community and the co-op for about 20 minutes. Pottery fascinates me and I've always wanted to try making something myself. Everything on the shelves is made by the artists that run the co-op and the shop. The prices range depending on the size of the item and the intricacy, of course. We ended up purchasing a beautiful blue striped coffee mug that caught our eye, and were happy to know that our purchase helps local Pittsburgh artists. Great little shop in the Strip District!
