Expensive, dirty, cramped and a poor selection. Produce is just on the shelf wilting ?. Got a bag of potatoes that didn’t even last a week. Workers are nice at least.Just get the 64 bus and go to Aldi or just hit up Panda Mart on Forbes.

Giant Eagle always comes through for my shopping needs. Fresh produce, meats , seafood, bakery goods, prepared food items , a variety of staples for the kitchen, merchandise for the household, and more.

It's a small giant eagle but that's not problem since they have a decent produce section. Problem is the employees at the bakery, deli and a meat area so darn rude not funny. Thankfully I'm not far from East liberty I can go to Shakespeare st GE or other markets.

Twice I had to leave the seafood counter because there was no service. Once the person was on break. I was turned away and told to return in 15 minutes; the second time the person was talking for a very long time on the phone. Both times customers walked away from the seafood counter. The odd part is that two workers were right next to the seafood counter working the deli and they were just chatting. There were no customers. This seafood counter needs to be better managed.

Thanks to the night shift cashier at Giant Eagle Supermarket. I had difficult time at the self check out machine. He came to help me get through quickly.

One of the smallest in the city, so it's overpriced and sometimes there aren't any carts. Often missing some fruit or veg, depending on what you want they might not even carry it. They do their best, but Giant eagle could invest and make their store better and they don't. Good for short trips, terrible for anything else.

Went here while in Squirrel Hill. Hard to find due to parking behind storefront on busy street. Store is nice with a lot of great options for food types

I went to the Squirrel Hill Giant Eagle's pharmacy to get my Covid booster, and my flu shot today. The pharmacist, John, was incredibly kind over the phone when I called. I'm a big baby when it comes to getting shots, but the pharmacist was so gentle that I barely felt the two shots! He must be some kind of magician because those were the most pain-free vaccines I've ever gotten. And Giant Eagle gives you a $5 discount on a future purchase for each vaccine you get from them; they link it to your advantage card. From now on, I will be getting all my vaccines at the Squirrel Hill Giant Eagle pharmacy. Everyone at the pharmacy was wonderful, and the staff at the store itself is always helpful and friendly. It was a very positive experience. However, people should be aware that this location is much smaller than many of the other Giant Eagle locations in the Pittsburgh area, therefore it can't provide the same variety and selection of food products. But I feel they do an excellent job of utilizing the space they have, and it's a good place to shop for staple food items, or to run in to quickly grab something. But for larger grocery orders, and/or for a larger selection of organic food, you'll probably want to go elsewhere. I'm giving 5 stars because I love their pharmacy, and I think they do a great job of making the best of the smaller space they have.

Cute little giant convenient store on Murray Avenue called Giant Eagle. I stayed at an Airbnb in Squirrel Hill and needed some bottled water. I walked here not knowing what time it closes. I asked the security guard. Oh shoot. I got 5 minutes to shop. The store has a logical layout. I found what I wanted in a minute and rushed to check out. The cashier saw me as I was new to the area. He offered his loyalty card for my water. Nice guy. I got it at a discount. But somehow, I got charged for 10 cents more. I swore I hit I got my own bag. Oh well. Time was running out. I could care less about that dime.

Wish I could give it 0 stars. I shopped here about 4 years ago before returning to the area. I had already given up on the pharmacy there. You wait 35 minutes for a medication (NON-scheduled substance) that was called in days ago but never filled. One was an antibiotic I very much needed. All I can say is; I wish we could just kick people out of my hospital or my place of employment I’m currently at 10 minutes prior to closing. The attitude and rudeness is disgusting. The selection is already poor. I had gone here because I don’t finish work until just before they close. But after being yelled at as if I were literally stealing something tonight, I’ll be heading to the Waterfront Giant Eagle prior to my work day. Or Aldi’s. We stay 40 minutes past our closing time at my job as a service to our customers. These people were running out of the store before me at 9:58. There was one very kind young male who used to do the announcements (which happen every 3 minutes to get you out of there) and was very friendly about it, but I’m not sure what happened to him. He was probably too kind. Are there no managers in the evening, or are they, too without any ounce of compassion, humanity, or consideration?? I’m constantly feeling like an intrusion on their work day, as if they can’t be bothered while getting paid. The security guard is the only kind person there. The rest should find a job with no person-to-person interaction whatsoever. The cashier tonight literally sighed loudly and threw my stuff, grumbling about last minute and that I should add extra money to his register. I would’ve been fired from every job within the last 16 years for that reprehensible attitude. I literally picked up 5 items after my own 10 hour work day. I won’t be back. This shouldn’t be allowed. What a disgrace.

I am appalled at #1 at the pricing, #2 the small limited selection, and #3 the so called security that's sits outside and watches bad behavior. I told a couple of college girls. It's better to get a uber, Go to walmart in north for sales, Stock up For the month, They would save so much money. I told them to compare the prices online and see the difference. This store is priced way to high

It feels more like a small community grocery story vs. a chain like Giant Eagle which is good as it fits the area well.If you driving here good luck parking is terrible in this area overall and you are better served walking here or coming with your bike.I have a cargo bike and it's easy to find a spot for that.In terms of what it's like inside it's smaller but it's well stocked. The produce section had a nice variety of products and the store overall was pleasant. They didn't have many cashiers working the day I was there so there was a bit of a wait to checkout but it was only 15 minutes which isn't too bad.So in regards to a Giant Eagle it's a solid one.
