The manager/owner went above and beyond with their customer service. He was super nice. Not to mention, they did an amazing job fixing my bicycle. Highly recommended this shop for bicycles related works.

Newbie biker here. I always pop in here to ask a question or two, look for tips, and buy something. Nicest guy ever and great little shop. Support local and get over to here!

I'm a bit of a biking newbie, so I stopped in because my usual shop was closed when I had a spill and my bike started making an odd noise. They took a look, saw it was an easy fix and did it for free! Very friendly and helpful.

I had a problem with the brakes on my bike. Nick helped me quickly and fixed my issue. The cost for the repair and new pieces is quite reasonable.

This shop is awesome. I had problem installing something I bought from there a couple of weeks back and the owner stopped what he was doing just to teach me how to do it. Plus he didn't charge me. It's hard to find customer service like this at other businesses. It sounds like a small thing but time is money. He was a huge help to me.

Went in for small repair for my old bike. Instead of upcharging for new parts, the owner suggested where to find old ones that fit my bike. Also gave some bike maintenance tips for free. Will come back.

Truly the local bike shop of my dreams. Twice now, Nick has fixed an issue that another shop said was unfixable or failed to diagnose. Extreme competence, prompt turnaround, reasonable rates, and super friendly. It's awesome to have a solid bike mechanic in the neighborhood and I'll be sure to roll thru next time I need anything.

I appreciated Nick’s help and advice re converting my 40 year old quality bike to one with a modern gear shifter. He also fixed the tire in no time. Highly recommended!

If I could give them 100 stars I would. I'm a novice bike commuter and I was having the type of day where I rolled up to the shop 10 minutes before closing with a flat tire, dead phone, forgotten wallet, and a general air of frustration and sweatiness. The worker who helped me was so kind to welcome me into the shop, replace my inner tube, answer my endless stupid cycling questions, and even allowed me to make a payment the next day (see eg dead phone and forgotten wallet). I can rest easier as a bike commuter knowing that my neighborhood bike shop is so knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. I cannot thank these folks enough for their kindness and will absolutely be returning for all of my future cycling needs!

A few weeks ago, my kids and I pulled our bikes out of the basement for the first time ever. They were Christmas presents - nothing fancy, just three little bikes from Goodwill for three little kids. We stepped out into a warmth completely unsettling for February, and it was then that we quickly realized there was no air in any of our tires. It was 04:45pm, and when I checked our back porch for the bicycle pump, I found it was gone. Someone must have taken it. Quickly, I gathered us up, pushing three little kids to Fern Hollow Bikes, on the off chance they were still in business, and open that day of the week, and still open for the day. Even though we only live four or five blocks away, the walk seemed to take forever, because the legs of five-year-olds are only so long, and three-year-olds don’t really know how to walk a bike they can’t even ride yet, and four-and-a-half-year-olds rank in the middle of both of those abilities. When we got there, I was delighted to see the door open and the light on, and I hurried inside at 04:57pm, and found a dashing young lad with the most excellent tattoos behind the counter. I told him our plight, and he grabbed the most heavy-duty air pump I’ve ever seen. It didn’t faze him at all when he saw not two, but eight, empty tires. The kids were amazed, and ecstatic, and at the end of it all, many fistbumps were had. He didn’t ask for a dime. We spent the next hour or so going in small circles in the alleys of Wilkinsburg. I wasn’t there with them when they learned how to ride, but this was the first time I got to ride bikes with my kids. The whole shop smells amazing, and I hope it stays here in Park Place for many years to come.

Really cool bike shop close to Frick Park. The owner was stellar and the gear and bikes and services are all terrific. By the way, this collection of small businesses where Fern Hollow Bicycles lives is truly a gem.

Nick was very friendly and helpful! I had a bike delivered to and assembled at his shop. There was a small scratch on the paint, but Nick was apologetic and transparent about it. He provided me with several options, including returning the bike to the manufacturer and putting together a new one for me or to include multiple accessories to make it worth my while. I was very pleased by his professionalism in addressing the situation and enjoyed talking with him. I’ll be back again!
