5151 Butler St, Pittsburgh“Despite some neighbors complaining about the new ownership, tom Fridays has been and still remains super great. The staff has a lot of carryover, if that's important to you, but the new people are great too.
I don't know how many places in Pittsburgh you can order whatever cut of meat you want and get it that day. For my dad's birthday, they cut up 6 filet mignons to the thickness I wanted right in front of me. They've done special orders for me: they got me a whole pork belly for barbecue, and they ordered me a rib roast for Christmas dinner. They have great specials on wings and freezer meats all the time. Plus, they have an amazing ground beef blend, I don't make burgers with anything else. I once drove 6 hours with 10 pounds of their burger blend for an out of town cookout because I knew they wouldn't have as good as beef as Tom Fridays.
Have the new owners added slot machines? Yes. Have they changed the layout? Yes. Are they still as involved, engaged, and friendly as Tom was? YES.
This place is the best butcher shop in Pittsburgh, and there's no doubt about it.”
“Morcilla was our favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh during our recent visit, The food is delicious, the decor is appealing and service is terrific. We'd return if our travels take us back to Pittsburgh.”
“My mom and her boyfriend are visiting. They went to this meat market and grilled out for us. It was the best meat I've had in recent memory. I'm going to visit myself”
“I have been a Weiss Meats customer for almost five years. My steaks have always been of high quality, and the prices can't be beat. Staff has always been respectful and professional.”
“The crew down at Fat Butcher are incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. I often walk in without a set plan and they always come through with great ideas and recommendations. Grateful to have such an amazing business so close. When it comes to where I get my beef/pork/lamb/etc. there isn’t a second thought!P.s. their pastrami is one of the true hidden gems of Pittsburgh”
