“One of my favorite finds in pgh. The owner is so incredibly kind and gives amazing recommendations. She hosts a bunch of fun events as well that really makes things feel like a community. Definitely a spot to checkout”
“This is probably the best independently-owned little shop in the world. Everything is really well curated and eclectic. Fantastic book selection. My favorite place to buy gifts for people. The staff can always recommend something perfect and they’re always really kind.”
“I love, love, LOVE this bookstore! It’s so beautiful with amazing offerings and the cafe attached has some great food/drink options too. I’m always looking for opportunities to support independent bookstores and this one definitely takes the cake! I was working in the area only temporarily but joined the points program anyway because I certainly hope I’ll be back!”
“I wanted to give a shout to Rachel at this location. The last handful of times I went in she was the only employee to greet me and make me feel special. She recommended several new books to me that I've loved, but also helped me find the books I can't searching for. This woman is GREAT and I look forward to seeing her each visit in this location.
Also, please promote her to the person who orders the books, she had so much knowledge and was sharing several books that sounded interesting but said this location wouldn't carry them.”
“What a gem of a store. Great book selection, really cute stationary and crafts section and OMG the stickers! The staff was very friendly. Can't wait to go back.”
“Riverstone is a local store that sells books for adults and children as well as gifts such as stuffed animals, puzzles, and greeting cards. During my visit, I purchased a couple of items, and two employees courteously served me. I read on this store’s website that they hold in-store events such as meetings with authors and story times for children.”
“I come here all the time because I have an unhealthy addiction to making my tbr cart way too full and the staff is super friendly and they have a good selection of books. I love cards unlimited in shadyside as well but I tend to always come here more because the selection is always bigger and I walk out with a new book 90% of the time I visit. They have stuff made my local artists, notepads, cards, etc as well so it’s a good place to stop for gifts too”
“Half Price Books is always my go to for finding cheap, well maintained used, enjoyable books! Every so often I visit for my manga series, but they have such a wide variety of book genres for anyone to love! They also have used games, technology, and music cds & vinyls. I plan on bringing in my old books and vinyls someday to get them price checked!”
“If you need some excellent incense, candles, spell jars, crystals, oils, or oddities...you're in the perfect place!
Joyce is incredibly knowledgeable about her collections, and has quite the fun tales to tell if you lend an ear.
This shop is like a collective of eclectic wonders, and you will find local artisans' work within; including incense, herb blends, handcrafted witchy oils, even glass sculptures and artwork!
Even as I type this, I can remember the smells that hit your nose as you walk in -- warmth, cheer, and welcoming vibes await you.
For those in the market for the metaphysical, occult, and mystical, Sparkledragon's Magical Emporium is your one stop shop. Tell her Eli sent you! ?”
“Much More Than Books: A Cozy Oasis for Entertainment! Barnes & Noble offers a vast selection of books, but it's so much more. This store is a one-stop shop for entertainment and leisure. Browse games, music, journals, cards, magazines, puzzles, and even wrapping paper. There's a Starbucks cafe inside for coffee and snacks, making it a perfect place to relax for hours. Despite its spacious layout, the store maintains a surprisingly quiet and cozy atmosphere.”
“Large space. Plenty of spaces for even a crowded day. Enough seating if you need to wait for your favorite book lover to pick their next TBR. Bathrooms were clean and the cafe is in the middle of the store. Plenty of parking in the back, some in the front but can be tricky backing out.”
“This store was highly recommended on our tour of Pittsburgh and I can see why. The posted hours do seem to be a bit of a suggestion, but the selection was excellent and varied.”
“Book books books! They have an incredible deal that if you buy three you get one free! I bought some of the most incredible books from the 1900’s still with placeholders and letters inside them. This is not a bookshop you want to skip over, and the employees are very nice, and will help you find what you’re looking for!”
“A mecca of sorts. Bill is a legend in the alt / indie / underground comics scene and runs this incredible store on his own, seemingly through pure magick and love. The selection is.. overwhelming, to put it mildly, but Bill somehow keeps a mental inventory of everything and will dig through boxes to find you some obscure gems.I wish i could spend weeks here (and a small fortune).Prices are great. The online shop is phenomenal if you can't make it in person.Support this Pittsburgh treasure!”

“Went there to frame a painting, it was very nice experience. Was given proper attention and advice on finding a suitable frame. Also there is a 10-20% off based on how many times you have taken the service. I paid about 130 for medium range nice wooden frame for 18x14 painting. More basic options would cost less. They give honest opinion on the pros and cons too.”
“Great selection of books and office/composition/art supplies, and you can shop there without any university affiliation. Seems like it caters to students at all levels, their families, and anyone curious from the wider community.”
“Shepherd’s Door is a Christian nonprofit that operates a retail store and community programs. I shopped in the store one time. I saw merchandise such as crosses, greeting cards, mugs and cups, chocolates, soaps, home decor, stuffed animals, etcetera. Some products had a Christian theme, and other products were fair-trade. I decided to buy a few items. The cashier spoke nicely to me and accurately processed my transaction. The prices were typical.”
“We love mary ellen!!! If you are looking for unique decorations or anything that you think is cool you will find it here!! Stop by here you won't be disappointed.”
“I have been buying books from this store for the past year and have never been disappointed. I have had to ask for recommendations based on my children's interests and Lea has always delivered stellar lists. I look forward to visiting the store in person and attending a book reading. I will continue to recommend The Tiny Bookstore to all of my friends and family!”

2028 Murray Ave, Pittsburgh“Pinskars Wine and Judaica in Squirrel Hill a true gem hidden in plain sight. This charming establishment isn't merely a store; it's a gateway to experiencing Jewish culture and spirituality through the rich flavors of kosher wines and the intricate beauty of Judaica.Upon entering, you're greeted not just by the warmth of the staff but by the welcoming glow of menorahs and the rich hues of handcrafted shofars, each piece telling its own tale of heritage and faith. It's as if you've been invited into a cozy living room. The wine selection at Pinskars is the best I found for Kosher wine in all of Pittsburgh. It’s like a curated journey through the vineyards of Israel, France, Italy, and beyond, offering a symphony of flavors that can elevate any Shabbat dinner or Passover Seder into a memorable feast. Whether you're a connoisseur or simply curious.Great selection and great prices. Highly recommend.”

“The space provides a wonderful place to enjoy conversation. The food is interesting and excellent. We had the artichoke confit. And the veal chop Parmesan and pumpkin ravioli were both delicious. It is expensive but it is worth it. The service was exemplary. We will be back.”
