When I received my car, there was an alarm on the dash for tire pressure - it's cold there, no big deal...until I checked it upon arriving at my destination, over 45 minutes away, during which I was on an interstate traveling at 80mph. The right rear tire was nearly flat. So I had to find a gas station with free air, in a city I don't know, at night, alone, as a woman....and the tire only had 8psi pressure (right rear). I filled it up and it was find the rest of my week-long visit - so clearly the tire was not punctured. What an extremely negligent safety check they must have done to provide a car like this to a customer. A tire blowout at those speeds could have been disastrous. Additionally, I received an email from the "manager" the next day asking how everything went, and I responded with all of the information above - and crickets. No response, no acknowledgement. And that's not the first time that particular non-exchange had happened (I had a previous issue the year before that also received a non-response). Why email your customers if you don't bother reading or responding if they reply? I will not be using AVIS at this location ever again.

Rented a car for 28 days on business. They charged me for extra things that I never signed up for and never used. Avoid all costs!

Really rough experience. Firstly all their cars smell like the staff at hotboxing in them or something. Really bad. I booked the largest possible SUV. Chevy Tahoe or similar, and they first pulled out a Jeep Cherokee... Not gonna happen, so then they pull around an Excursion, that the driver clearly had just side swiped a pillar. There was damage and shredding on the running boards, and cement dust on the rear passenger door. I'm not taking that liability on, no... The 3rd vehicle they gave me was a Black Excursion in acceptable condition and suited my needs.I had the rental for a business trip. Needed to extend so called into the counter. All the phone number options go directly to a call center, I believe in India who cannot help you. I read them the MVA number directly off the key given to me, by Avis, in the Avis garage, and he said this vehicle is not in their system...I read it back multiple times, as well as by booking info, and he said the vehicle doesn't exist and can't extend, so then he tells me I have to drive hundreds of miles back to the counter to extend. I can't do that while working at the job site...Then today, still have the rental, still at the job site, and I get an email from Avis thanking me for returning a Blue Excursion, in Miami... I'm in Pennsylvania, did not leave the state, and I have a Black Excursion, not a blue one. But now i have a invoice, for more than $1100 trip, with a one way charge from PA to Miami. I'm not in Miami, and never had a blue vehicle, but the last 4 of my credit card are on this slip...Taking the Black Excursion back tomorrow and no doubt going to have a furious fight on my hands at the counter trying to get this resolved.

Gave me the wrong model car (told me I'd have to wait at least a half hour to get the one that I reserved, which I would have been late for my meeting if I did). Then told me to bring back the car full, but when I entered the car, the gas tank was down an 1/8. No one in the Preferred booth to show this too, so I took a picture. Filled the car to full as required on the return, and showed the picture and explained this to the attendant; she said she would take care of it by providing a discount. The discount turned out to be $2.50! A gallon of gas is $3.89 there, and for an 1/8 of a tank, that was multiple gallons of gas I paid for. So you ripped me off for $10 or so, we're done. Who won here?

This location (PIT airport) routinely charges for fuel usage, even if your return the tank full. There's a gas station on the airport property, but they'll charge you even if you fill the tank up there. Be sure to take photos of the mileage/gas in and out to protect yourself.

As always, my Avis car rental experience was smooth and professional from start to finish.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Never have the car you requested. Charged for gas when tank was full. Unhelpful desk and gate agents.

I filled the car 8.3 miles from airport as instructed by agent on collection. I have been charged for half a gallo. Of petrol at $9 per gallon. I have been charged $7.99 per day RSN which i know nothing about. Bill emailed to me when I’m already through security so can’t find out anything.

Will never use Avis again. Talk about a nightmare of an experience. Prepaid for a top of the line SUV and was ensured my vehicle would be AWD. However, not the case… I grew up visiting family in Pittsburgh so I understand how crucial it is to have AWD out here. My car got stuck in snow multiple times and finally got to the point where I had to pay out of pocket for a tow. After communicating this experience to the manager, Tanner, he promised he would be taking off $200 to make it right. He’s a good man, very understanding about the situation and we shook hands. However, his team charged me an additional $200 instead of refunding me, so I call customer service to fix the issue… yep you guessed it! It’s a call center in India where no one was able to help me!! Bc I never got Tanner’s last name I’m stuck paying almost double for my rental. Great job, Avis y’all lost a customer for life.

I would never accept a vehicle with darkly tinted windows again. Felt very unsafe.

Avis has really gone downhill. Set up a reservation for what it listed as being $165 only to find out as the very last step of the reservation process there was another $65 dollars in "fees" on top of that. And then when I ended up needing to cancel the reservation 20-minutes after booking it, they charged me $50 for the privilege. This was not a last-minute booking. There was no reason to charge such a ridiculous fee. Stay away from Avis.

Pickup was amazing and fast. Friendly lady during check in. However the vehicle was dirty. Inside, windshield was horrible to see out of, windshield washing fluid was empty, and worst of all I was charged extra for fuel even though I stopped and topped it off right before returning it. Now I have to spend extra time to hopefully resolve the upcharge
