Arsenal is an incredible school. The teacher to student ratios are kept small and the teachers are so amazing. My daughter got so much individual attention in terms of her development here. They provide developmental, vision, and hearing screenings for free and keep you updated on your child’s progress. I also love that as a parent you are welcome to observe from an observation deck at any time. Twice a year they provide you with a conference to discuss your child’s progress and needs which I found so helpful. From the moment we stepped foot into this school I knew it was a good one. You can just feel how much they care for the kids. I would not hesitate to recommend this school to anyone and cannot wait to return next year!

AFCC has numerous accreditations, experienced staff and a wonderful teacher/student ratio. The classrooms are spacious, clean and well suited to learn! AFCC also has a fantastic outdoor space for students. The AFCC is truly is a gem for early childhood development.

As a parent, I can’t say enough good things about Arsenal Family and Children’s Center. This preschool truly stands out for its commitment to providing a supportive and enriching environment for children. The teachers at Arsenal are exceptional. Their wealth of experience and genuine care for each child create a nurturing atmosphere where kids can thrive. Whether it’s helping with emotional development or fostering social skills, they go above and beyond. Arsenal Family and Children’s Center is a gem. My daughter and son both participated in the Toddler Program at AFCC with Mrs. Pini and Mrs. Tracy. This program, and in particular the teachers, played a huge role in preparing them for full-day PreK and, eventually, Kindergarten. Mrs. Pini and Mrs. Tracy provided detailed summaries after each session, and ways to continue education at home. They were instrumental in helping me identify my daughter's autism and helping me and her gain the support she needed. I cannot recommend this program enough for intimate, individualized and empathic care and teaching methods. Arsenal rocks!

We love Arsenal Family & Children's Center in Friendship, PA. Most importantly our son is in his 2nd year of attending AFCC and he has so much fun inside and outside. He loves his teachers and going to school every morning. We were so thrilled to have found this gem of a school and were welcomed instantly. The director, Melissa Hankins, is not only 110% dedicated to the school, she is also exceptionally kind, compassionate, and loving to us all everyday. Our son is getting a play based education that speaks for itself when he all of a sudden will count to 30, write his name, follow direction, clean up, and show kindness toward others at 3-5 years old. The teachers who have been there many years exude love for the children and the teaching techniques are all so subtle, far beyond our expectations. Our son will be well prepared for kindergarten and we have AFCC to thank! Best, Barbara

AFCC is truly a hidden gem!! My child has grown in so many ways by going to school at AFCC. The teachers and the staff are all very professional, knowledgeable, patient, engaging, caring/loving, and provide a great learning environment that is fun and safe for all children. I also love that AFCC is play based. I couldn't ask for a better school setting for my son. We highly recommend this center!

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to send my son to AFCC. Their advanced understanding of child development provided a supportive environment for my son to flourish. You can see the tenets of Mr Rogers (who interned there at one point!) woven into their philosophies and approach to preK learning. The intimate setting allowed the staff and classmates to feel like family. They prioritize SEL, social skills, learning through play, in addition to kindergarten readiness. Their commitment to providing the safest environment during COVD19 allowed our kids to get that important last year of peer engagement to prepare for K, without any closures for illness. We will always look back at our time at AFCC with gratitude!

We love Arsenal! Such a wonderful, nurturing place. Our 3-year-old, who is a little shy, just loves it and has really thrived in the play-based environment. The teachers are so attentive! Highly recommend.

Best preschool in Pittsburgh.. My 3 year old son loved this school. No time outs! No yelling! If the child does something wrong, Mrs. Pini patiently advises him. They have a room upstairs where parents can sit and watch what's going on inside the classroom. That shows their confidence. They always makes the kids wash hands before entering the class room, before and after eating and also after play. My son rarely got sick when he was there unlike other schools he attended. I think it's because of this frequent washing of hands. They never give any junk food for snacks. Every day its a different fruit plus crackers! I should take lessons from Mrs. Pini for patience. She sometimes sits inside the restroom and talks to the child till he is done potty!!! How many preschool teachers will do that?? I can go on and on about Arsenal preschool...We really miss that school!
