I felt the need to leave a review because of the amazing care I received at the AHN Brentwood ER. I had a bad burn on my arm that I felt a medical professional should look at, and from the moment I walked in, it was a smooth, straightforward experience. The admission people were friendly and helpful, and the nurse and doctor who took care of me were absolute pros with fantastic bedside manner. They treated my burn and gave me much needed peace of mind. Thank you!

If I could give zero stars I really would they don’t even deserve the hundreds of dollars my insurance is giving them they make people wait so they can rack up time to get paid extra I was in there for two and half hours in the room where I didn’t see a single soul to check up on me and I still haven’t seen the doctor so I told the nurse to take the IV out so I can leave she wasn’t happy about that and on top of that she was rude which blows my mind there’s only 10 rooms in that hospital if not less. 75% of the nurses are rude and not professional at all and certainly don’t deserve to have a job there they all have on the tip of their tongue you are more than welcomed to leave. One time an older shorter lady was taking care of me I said please easy and she replied “you came to us” I have heard that on multiple occasions from different people I have seen other bad reviews about the same older short lady I’m sure she is not hard to find between the others to be set straight. Another time my father was asking the doctor questions he was in there for something serious apparently the doctor didn’t like that he said “Jesus Christ” and took a seat when I asked him what was that for he kept apologizing and said I was “praising the Lord” very disappointed with that hospital I definitely won’t be going back there

I was seen quickly, treated with respect, everything was explained to me thoroughly, and was not left waiting for long between next steps.

Sitting in the room with my husband for over an hour and a half - I decided to stand, apparently our room was directly in front of the nurses station. A man sitting behind a screen said to me “do you need something?” I replied that I was just standing because we had been waiting for an hour and a 1/2. He replied “we are extremely busy and if you continue to stare at me, I will see other patients.” When he came into the room, he was the DOCTOR. I apologized to him but told him I didn’t appreciate being threatened in that way. It continued to escalate where he continued to threaten to give my husband care. So I left the room. This is completely outrageous and unprofessional.I also have to say I have been here one other time before this where I received great care.I’m so disappointed in the man that was here today and the way he treated us.

I went to AHN Brentwood Neighborhood Hospital for a serve migraine. During intake as well when speaking to the Dr and nurses, I advised I had an allergy to a medication used in the IV from my previous visit. I asked to not receive the medication but I was still given the medication. After experiencing the side effects from the medication, about 10 minutes into treatment I raised concern with the doctor he left the room then slammed the door. 5 minutes later the nurses who gave the IV came in the room to discharge me. I told the nurses the IV was not finished. They told me I had enough treatment. As I explained poor treatment the one nurse start yelling at me at the top of her lungs telling me she doesn't know my allergies and It is not her responsibility to know them. She told me to "GET OUT". The other nurse rips the IV out of my arm causing me to bleed out. That nurse left the room immediately. The other nurse in the room told me not to be mad at her because she did not touch me. While I am still bleeding she ran out of the room as if she was afraid of my blood. A lady came to stop the blood, I asked her was It was a normal amount of blood she told me she did not know because she was not a nurse. After I stopped bleeding I asked for the names of the nurses to file a report. I was told "get out, there's the door" They called the cops to escort me out. I left the facility with a worse migraine than I went in with. No one should be treated this way by medical professionals.

I came here a few months pregnant. Worst mistake. I almost lost my life and my child’s life. Came there for nausea from vomiting and was dehydrated. The medical assistant or nurse not sure was an older shorter lady with light curly hair. Didn’t clear my IV line of air at all! I watched the liquid enter the iv and several air pockets entered my blood stream I could hear the air coming out of the IV line as it entered my blood stream. Now I didn’t realize that was what just had happened. I immediately could feel something was wrong my chest and heart like skipped a beat, I got really light headed and just felt strange over all and started to panic! I freaked out told them to get it out of me and in a few minutes I was fine. The doctor who is very young and clearly knows nothing and another staff member I believe who was a medical assistant or nurse not sure started to treat me like a hypochondriac. Started being really rude to me and not taking me seriously. Please go to a REAL hospital if you need help! I wouldn’t go to this place for anything. The moment I left I googled if air can be in the IV. That women gave me an air embolism and nearly killed me. Please stay safe and take care of yourself. I hope these people find another place to work and that doctor gets a better education. Or at least gets some better experience.

This hospital not only once had mistreated me and my kids but now I’m here with my mom and we have been here for over a hour and no one has even seen her , or checked on her to take vitals or anything , not even offer water . This hospital is ridiculous and it’s sad that the nurses don’t care about the patients enough to get off their butts and go and help people that are in real pain . They would rather talk in the hall way or ignore u .

I am used to going to UPMC hospitals, so going to an AGH hospital was a new experience for me. It is very possible that I will need to switch to AGH doctors for care due to employment insurance changes, and I would be lying if my experience at AGH Brentwood Hospital didn’t make me very nervous. I believe that some AGH healthcare workers have expertise in their field, but from what I have seen so far, bedside manner and care for patient confidentiality is horribly lacking. My impression of this neighborhood hospital is outlined below:Positives:1. The wait time was very short.2. The radiologist on staff was super professional and friendly. She explained everything she needed to do and why.3. Two of the nurses that took care of me were knowledgeable and made some effort to be friendly.4. They were able to treat my condition.Negatives:1. The physician on staff interrupted and rushed me when asking about my condition. She treated me more like a number than a person. I could understand the need to be quick or short maybe if there were patients around with more serious issues, but…I was told I was the only patient at the time. A little compassion goes a long way.2. As mentioned in other reviews, the lady at the front desk was the worst! She acted like it was such an inconvenience to have to help me. Her tone was snarky and sarcastic. Again, I think she was upset that I ruined her quiet night.3. There was no respect or concern for privacy or dignity. The lady at the front desk asked irritably why I needed to be seen. At the time, there were other patients in the waiting room. I did not want to have to recount my medical history in front of all of these other people. I wish they could do it the way UPMC does and have patients write down their health concerns on a form so that it is more private.4. The bed sheets and blankets were dirty and stained.5. The worst part of all was when I was in a room with the door shut, the employees at the nurses’ station were carrying on and making fun of other patients. They were being extremely loud and laughing and cackling. They were making fun of people who were elderly, disabled, and who did not speak English fluently. I listened to this for quite some time, and it was horrendous. I am sure they made fun of me too as soon as I left. I did speak with the physician about my concerns and her reply was, “Well you are the only patient here.” She did apologize after that but…honestly, it is never okay to speak about patients that way in any setting. I am not a healthcare provider, but as a teacher I would never talk about students or parents the way they talked about their patients, especially so loudly and in a public place. I understand that healthcare is probably a stressful job, but my goodness…if people truly feel that way about people in need then they probably shouldn’t be in healthcare. My heart broke for those patients. One of the most concerning parts of my experience was that many of the concerns I have about this hospital have already been expressed in other people’s previous reviews where AGH has responded. I think that they respond in hopes that people think that they care and are actually addressing their concerns when clearly, that is sadly not the case. I never expect five-star service at a hospital as if it is some sort of hotel, but what I do expect is some concern to be shown for patient wellbeing, privacy, and common decency.

Never thought I'd leave a review for a hospital, but figure I might as well after all my bad experiences at other ones. We've been here a couple times now and everyone was great. Wait was short, facilities were clean, and the doctors were helpful in trying to solve our problem. We're used to the lackluster UPMC care that our insurance requires, so it was nice to have someone really advocate for my husband to try to get in with a urologist for his kidney stone. The urologist kept shrugging off the ER doc, but he pushed and got my husband in for emergency surgery. Very thankful, because it could have ended badly.God forbid we have another emergency, but if we do we will definitely come here again.

Went to the AHN Brentwood Neighborhood Hospital because of severe knee pain. Couldn't walk. Entered their ER. Could not have asked for more. These folks were second-to-none. Of particular note was one "Lori," a Patient Access Specialist, whose manner and comportment were unbelievable, and one Dr. Robert Sobehart, whose specialty is Emergency Medicine. His compassion, sensitivity, expedience and knowledge base were unparalleled. Everyone with whom I had contact adhered to a professional ethos that's simply incomparable. Takeaway: if you've sustained an injury of a traumatic nature, or you're in medical crisis, you would be remiss not to give these folks a try. Update as of 20 June 2023; Dr. Sobehart made an educated guess on 11 June 2023. His Dx was a "Baker's cyst." He had nothing more to go on than a conventional x-ray and self-reporting. He said, "if it's a Baker's cyst, you may feel pain behind the knee the next day." I went to an orthopedic specialist the following day - because of severe pain behind the knee. The specialist said that I probably had a torn meniscus. While I'm not disparaging the orthopedic specialist - to the contrary - he's an excellent doctor - I do believe Brentwood's Dr. Sobehart made the right call. Final note; there are three hospitals within a five-mile radius of my home. I really don't care that I have to drive 24 miles to get to AHN Brentwood Neighborhood Hospital. If I'm in need of medical care, then that's where I'm going.

My MIL came here to be seen for severe abdominal pain and was found to be hypertensive crisis. She received neglectful care, starting in the waiting room. It took hours for an abdominal CT to be completed and she received nothing for blood pressure reduction or pain relief during this time. Her blood pressure remained critically high for over 6 hours before she finally received pill form blood pressure medication, no IV blood pressure medication was given until the following day. Her blood pressure being this elevated put her health at many risks, but the biggest being stroke or heart attack. During this waiting period her family asked several times about the treatment plan for pain and blood pressure control and requested to see/speak with a doctor, which their requests were ignored or received rude responses from staff. A nurse practitioner, Molly provided care. There was only one physician in the emergency room side and the rest of the providers were NPs or PAs. When she was transferred to the "in-patient" side there are no physicians to see the patients in-person, only through telemedicine. There is only one nurse and one aid to provide care on the in-patient side and the response time can be slow, due to patient load demands. As a nurse, I was personally astonished by the care/lack of care that my MIL received the night she went there for emergent care. I would not recommend anyone to take themself or a loved one to this facility, go to a regular ER where you will receive more comprehensive, professional care.

I came in for a dog bite on my finger. I think it was the RN that took care of me. Matthew Martin, I believe. He took exceptional care of me and stitched me up. He went above and beyond to make me comfortable and put a smile on my face.
