I wish I could leave negative stars to emphasize how awful these people are...they are criminals and running a racquet...they need to be investigated...they stole my mom's car from her after she had a accident Saturday night (9/7/24 830p)...they allege that they are open for towing only on the weekend....so when we get there mon morning...they give my mom a $1476.00 for a 2-3mi tow and less than 1hrs worth of work even tho she had AAA...the Monroeville police said AAA takes too long so they had magills come steal her car...they allege they can knock off $500 in labor?!?!....so for $976 they could settle...$300 just to get her belongings....MAGILLS ARE CRIMINALS who will burn in hell for their wrongs

I am a 67 year old widow that has a pacemaker and defibrillator. I have arthritis and walk with a cane. Magill's Towing took my car. Here is what happened. September 7, 2024 I was driving on Old William Penn Hwy. An oncoming car was headed for me blinding me. I started breaking and moving to my right. I didn't know that there we boulders there and hit them. My passenger side front wheel was broken and there was damage along my back side door door. This was my first accident ever. I wasn't hurt bad more shook up than anything. So I call 911. When the police arrived I told the officer that I wanted to call Triple A to tow my car. The officer said no that my car needed to be moved because of where I was so he would call a tow truck. The officer said that Triple A is to slow. I told the officer that I couldn't afford a tow truck. The officer told me that my insurance company would pay for the tow. I had no choice but to let MAGILL'S Towing take my car. They arrived in about five minutes and loaded my car on a flat bed in about four minutes. So first thing on Sunday morning I called MAGILL'S Towing and they told me that they weren't open until Monday at 8:00 AM except for towing even though their ad said open. So Monday September 9, 2024 on my way to my cardiologist my son and I called. MAGILL'S Towing but they couldn't tell us how much. The said that she would call back so I told her that she could talk to my son. MAGILL'S Towing never called so after the doctor we drove over there. At first I hesitated to get out of my son's car, they have a grown German Shepherd walking around with out a leash. After I got out the car they called the dog. So when we walked up to the counter and asked if I could pay for my tow so that I could have Triple A come and get my car. I was told $1476.00. I told the receptionist that I couldn't afford that. She asked somebody and told me $976.00. I told her that I still couldn't afford that. I asked how much to get my license plate and personal items out of the car. I was told $300.00. I didn't have that either, ( I live on a fixed income ) a few days earlier It had cost me almost $600 for inspection. So I am broke. They said something about me giving them my Title plus a fee. I said no. So I left and went to my family doctor. I cried my eyes out. So Tuesday someone got them to sell my car to a parts store for $900.00. I couldn't remember where I had put my Title after my husband died. So I just gave up. They kept my personal license plate, my Christian cds, spare change in the center console, my club to keep my car from being stolen, a crate for my ministry stuff, ( I just started a Grief Group Ministry and as a widow on Social Security it's ruff ). Any way MAGILL'S Towing were cold hearted and mean. My heart is already broken and they just stomped on it. That car had a lot of sentimental value.I was told yesterday that MAGILL'S Towing purchased a tow truck for a million dollars. So I guess that is why they robbed a poor sick widow. I hope that everyone that reads this finds someone else whenever they need a tow truck. Please pray for me because I don't live near a bus and I don't have the money to buy even a used car. I have to make all my doctor's appointments for my son's day off. I really hope you take your business to nicer people with a heart.

The driver who picked up my Tahoe was very nice and professional, and the price was fair. The woman I spoke to on the phone was nice as well, I would definitely recommend them!

I worked overnight woke up too my car being towed! Long story short. The police had my car towed and I live a block away from this place! My car was towed there and there for approximately1/2 hr.I called they told me it was $600 to get my car out!!! Tears instantly fell the lady was nice she said she would call the owner to see what he could do. He told her he would allow me to get it for $300. Some may feel ok that is half off! I’m still in tears totally over paid for my vehicle! I never paid so much in my life! That’s was like an out of state tow price when I’m only 2mins away!

We needed a tow truck in the middle of the night and had no idea where we were. This was the only towing company that answered the phone that would come out. The receptionist (Debb) was amazing and so was the guy who came out with the truck. I didn't catch his name, but he was polite and super fast in response time.

Magill just charged me $657 to flatbed my car 12 miles. and I question what is the $300 EPA surcharge impound. There were no fluids leaked on the road. And my car was towed to a private lot not to Magill.
I am familiar with the prevailing rates of tow trucks in this area. I just had another automobile towed from Jeannette to Scottdale 17 miles for $200.
And I had my auto towed to dealer Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, for less than half that amount..
I realize he is contracted with the Pennsylvania Turnpike. But is he permitted to gouge customers because he is monopolized on the turnpike?
His driver was rude and condescending. Made disparaging remarks about competitor lander towing. I wish I could have used Lander towing. This is not the first run in with Magill. I can go back to 1975 when I had issues with them. Stay away from them if possible
And why won't he accept my automobile insurance and unless they can stow my car in their lot? Forcing me to pay their lot charges or not use my insurance.
Stay away from these crooks

They don't say it but they do not want the business of people of color the condescension was crazy I've heard of paying for diagnostics when you don't know what's wrong with your car but when you know exactly what's wrong with it and they're still telling you that they want to take a look at it and charge you $100 for it it's crazy to me ,and can't give you any ballpark quote of the max of what it would cost everybody knows what labor cost on certain vehicles when it's looked up and people wonder why I folks choose conglomerates over small businesses

This company is at best an extortionist enterprise and at worst indescribable assuming you believe in Hell. If you are in an accident on the gurney and they say "We're going to call Magill's for towing...." You need to rise up like the Undertaker and either (1) push the vehicle to safety or (2) push the vehicle off a Cliff. Either way you'll save money, time, and the overall experience of dealing with this detriment to society. I cannot warn you enough, if you are fiscally strapped or unsure of your insurance stay away.

There should be laws to protect the public from predators like this towing company. Unbelievable what they charge. A 4 mile tow to there yard where the car sat for an hour b4 AAA picked it up was $900. Just unreasonable

these assholes charged me $1300 to tow my motorcycle from an "accident scene" on the parkway in Pennhills to pitcairnthey price gouge people because they have the police contracts to tow wrecked vehicles and think that it's acceptable to take advantage of people when times are complicated. scum
