I unknowingly adopted a dog from here who had giardia- if you adopt I’d recommend going straight to your vet. My other dog got extremely sick.

This place is a joke. The employees here utilize the funds to bring their kittens/puppies to the facility to be fed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered for free. All while the facility shows these pets as being adoptable and promising them to families. The facility then backs out on the family and does not adopt the pet to the family. Very unprofessional and a waste of resources.

I adopted my forever dog Zelda from here. I had her for 14 years before she passed. This is a great organization and no kill shelter. They do everything possible for the animals.

This is a great no kill shelter. They go above and beyond for cats and dogs. It is off the beaten path in Pine Grove but worth the visit.

The people taking care of all the animals are so loving and caring. They made the adoption of our beautiful dog Frank easy for us. They answered all our questions and provided us a folder with a record of all his medical information. It was a surprise when we were getting ready to leave they gave us a bag full of toys and treats. I highly recommend Ruth Steinert's if you're looking to adopt a animal and if you can't adopt please help support them with a donation.

I'm very happy with my experience adopting through Ruth Steinert SPCA. The staff was kind, informative, and helpful in finding the best personality fit for my household. I have a happy and healthy puppy to call my own. I was also given a lot of resources to help integrate her into her new home. I highly recommend rescuing through them!

Adopting our little pupper Milo was a great experience. Everyone was nice and helpful and greatly exceeded our expectations. They genuinely care about their fur babies and do their best matching them up with potential adopters. After taking advantage of their "Home for the Holidays" program, they kept in touch and were concerned if everything was going alright. They were very accommodating and made the adoption process very easy. A shout out to Outten Chevrolet Hamburg for sponsoring Milo. We appreciate their love and concern for shelter animals. We and Milo thank everyone. We highly recommend Ruth Steinert for your next fur baby!

I stopped in as a volunteer transport driver to help deliver precious cargo to their new furever mom. I usually drive middle legs. It was my first time as the first leg of a transport and since we were crossing state lines I knew there were extra very important requirements. Everyone there was really nice. The woman who was directly helping me was very patient and showed me all of the paperwork in detail going with the dog. Bonus star if I could, knowing it was a long drive I asked to use their bathroom. It is in the building with the cats. I am allergic to cats and I did not have a reaction so they must be keeping it very clean. Also, I don't know how long the dog we transported was with them or what their full back story was and meeting strangers can go a lot of ways. In their waiting area they had comfortable seating which is great for a less threatening introduction. The dog I picked up was an elder but very active and was happy to jump up next to me for attention and snuggles. Happy animals are a very good sign.

What a great experience, we adopted our boy and couldn't be happier. They communicated well through the entire process and throughly checked us out before allowing us to adopt our dog to be sure we were the perfect fit. He was sent home microchipped and with a lifetime license, neutered, UTD on vaccines, preventatively dewormed and fully vetted, had a bunch of dog food, puppy treats, toys, a blanket, his harness and all! We highly reccomend this rescue and encourage you to adopt your next family member here!
