I went to the vet with a very sick cat, and it was clear given her age amount of weight she lost and the symptoms that she should've been put down, but instead of that being something that was discussed, discussed about heroic measures to prolong the life for a short time with no guarantee of how much suffering would be experienced after spending over $500 for tests? I made the decision to put my furr baby down. the decision was made a few days later I made another appointment and brought her in. It was a heart wrenching experience while sitting in the room waiting I was informed of the cost as I knew there would be a cost and they asked for payment. I explained that it wasn't something I brought with me at the moment I was carrying my furr baby and I would Pay after. That woman left and sent in a customer service representative only to tell me they could not do the procedure without payment first.. I was sitting there crying with my daughter as well. I simply could not believe how inconsiderate and uncompassionate the staff were . I have four other pets that I take to this vet they have a credit card of mine on file. It was beyond words how I felt as though this was simply a business transaction. The human beings of this Animal Hospital Made this whole experience worse. on top of this, they mailed me a card and had the wrong name for my pet on the paw print they sent me. I have kept it because I plan on going in there in person so they can actually see what they mailed me once again. I feel as though the Phoenixville Animal Hospital is just a police for making money. I did not feel any support or compassion or understanding at any time during this process As I stated earlier in this review, I have four other pets which come regularly all bills are paid at time of service and they have a credit card of mine on file. I will be switching vets. I haven't had my heart ready to do that as I still recover from losing one of my fur babies.

I called twice last week, on Tuesday and Thursday, leaving messages for Dr. Fig about my very sick pet that she had seen the week prior. She told me to call to get further instructions but she was apparently out sick all week and even though I was told my messages would be passed to another vet, nobody called me. On Friday night, my cat took a major turn for the worse and was in extreme distress due to difficulty breathing. I called on Saturday morning to make an appointment to put him to sleep, which was one of the options that the vet had already offered during our initial visit; however, I was told that another vet would need to examine him first before they could make that determination. Why? The vets all work for the same place, why would they not use Dr. Figs notes and recommendations? I did not want to put my dying cat through any more exams, so I called them back and informed the receptionist at the front desk that I had found another vet who was coming to my home to put my cat to sleep. Here it is Friday, almost a week later, and nobody from Phoenixville Animal Hospital has bothered to call me today to inquire how things went or to offer condolences or to apologize for never calling me back last week, which is possibly the reason my cat is no longer with us. I lay in bed every night listening to my other cat cry for her brother and all I can think about is how much I regret taking my pets to this place. Basically, I walked out with some flea medicine and a $956 vet bill and my sick cat that they did not follow up on. Never again and I am telling everyone I know to find a different vet. Clearly money is the only motivator here, certainly not any real compassion or concern for the pets or their family.

This was the most annoying nail trimming appointment from start to finish. I was told that I needed a wellness check to trim my sweet dogs nails. At $150.00! Then they had to take $75.00 up front. When did we start taking money before service?! I was out of options as to where to take her so we went with it. We were ushered back to a little room where we proceeded to wait 15 minutes past our scheduled time. Then sent to another littlr room where the 'vet' was sitting at examine table. She did not get up. She did not get anywhere near my dogs level. Wellness exam consisted of listening to her heart. Then the tech left the room and the vet started trimming my dogs nails. She didn't tell me. We wanted out so bad I just held my girl. (I was just getting over almost dying) My dog gained 10 lbs and this 'vet' is trying to tell me how she should be and not to starve her. Because I was going for skinny?! Not healthy?! Not sure I need advice from someone that can't care for themselves or move!!!!! My sweet girl and three others will never step foot near there again!!!!!! How does it feel to rip someone off $150.00 and make them do the work?!!!!! Not to mention the nails should of been done better. Thank you so much and have a great life!!!!

I was SO nervous and worried when I scheduled my first vet visit for my cat. But everyone was so good to me and my cat! The front desk associate named Cat was warm and reassuring. The tech Ashley was soooo good and so sweet to my cat. It was clear that she very much cares for and loves every animal that she works with. And Dr. Figurelle was very knowledgable and helpful too! I will definitely keep going back. Thank you all at PAH for how you handled my (and my cat's) situation this week. I'm so grateful.

We have been taking our cat to Phoenixville Animal Hospital since we adopted her six years ago. They have been professional, responsive and easy to schedule with from the very first day. They make an effort to minimize stress on your animal-- offering towel nests and lots of treats for our cat, for example-- and communicate clearly when vaccinations and tests need to happen. More importantly, they obviously care about your pet's wellness and went above and beyond for us to ensure our cat had consistent access to her heart medication after more than one referral medicine center in the area made continuity of care/scheduling EKGs more difficult than it needed to be.

Do not bring your animal here if you want to receive personalized and correct care! This last past year...it was a 180 with service. They hired a new front desk, Kat, and my appts were constantly getting screwed up (which I was patient with because I understood she was new and there is a learning curve), one of their new doctors missed something which made me request ONLY to be seen by Dr. Gallagher, and ontop of this I was pregnant having to deal with the "extra-ness." I brought my dog in for her annual 1 month and 1 week ago and was told that she needed to wait for her lepto and give it 3-4 weeks, but to bring her back for a nurses visit and I would just be charged for the shot (same thing I had been told in the past). I brought her back today and they called me to check out and they were trying to charge me $90+ they said because it had been over 30 days. Mind you I have come here for YEARS. In the past the nurses had told me that at the very least 21 days needed to be between the vaccinations so they usually recommended 3-4 weeks (I asked this question just last year when the new doctor told me 2 weeks). So they are ultimately giving people a 2-9 day window to get a shot without having to pay for an additional visit (which it's not like the techs are doing anything different between a charged and uncharged visit...she still didn't see a VET). I was transferred to the practice manager and at this point I was quite irritated and just wanted to hear that the charge was removed so I could pay and leave considering when I made the appt 3 days ago, this was not mentioned to me and had it been, I would have simply had my files transferred and gone elsewhere. She felt the need to lament for 2 mins (literally), so I told her she could bring my dog out, and send it to collections because I wasn't paying. She finally said she was waiving the tech fee, but she just wanted me to know for the future. I told her there was no future, and to send my dog out. It took 20 more minutes, and ME TO HAVE TO THREATEN TO CALL THE POLICE if my dog was not brought out to me for her to finally be brought out. Tbh I was contemplating leaving anyway as Dr. Gallagher sold the practice and is no longer going to be seeing patients. With all of the scheduling issues, and lack of being able to get someone on the phone in a timely fashion I am more than happy to let those headaches go.

Unfortunately, we had an awful experience with this place. Neither vet nor vet tech could manage to remove a tick OR take a temperature from my non-aggressive dog, resulting in me having to have the vet tech hold my six month old baby so I could do both myself while the vet just looked on. I hadn't planned on sticking a thermometer up my dog's rectum and holding it there for nearly a minute that morning, but I guess someone had to. I was then charged for the visit, and then refused the prescription we had come to obtain because they wouldn't allow me to buy the medication online at less than half the price. Gallagher's management practices are atrocious, I can't in good faith recommend her as a veterinarian.

If you go here just know you're supporting a tyrannical boss who treats her support staff like absolute dog s*** (no pun intended). You'll also get some half-assed medicine while you're there. I would give negative stars if I could because that's how awful the owner is.

This place is an excerize in discomfort. The crazy architecture is forgivable....but you walk in and you are assaulted by some scent that is surely meant to cover "animal smells". .which would be fine.... If it wasn't engulfing....then the receptionists who are are literally screaming into their phones whilst their vocal Fry hits every hard angle in the place and shoves it into your ears....and when, you Finally meet a legit nurse or doctor, they are accompanied by a freaking Entourage there is no need to have the doctor plus 3 other staff members, plus the dog and her owner in one small room....every thing about this environment says "Run". Though, I am sure they provide good care for the animals....

We have been bringing our cats here since 1998, when the practice was owned by another veterinarian. The building was tiny and cramped, but the care was always good. Things have only improved under the ownership of Dr Galligher. The building is spacious and beautiful and the staff is always helpful and friendly. Both Dr Galligher and Dr Caulfield have been very kind when caring for our nervous cats. They wrap or cover them in a towel, which is something that wasn't done by any other vet. It sure does the trick to calm them down. Dr Caulfield has particularly gentle way with nervous cats. She speaks softly and handles them so gently. Both vets offer great advice on weight control and dental care for pets. The vet techs and desk staff are so friendly, and even though they can't possibly remember every person and pet, they seem as though they do. If you are looking for TLC for your furry friends, give PAH a try. I think you will be happy!

I've been taking my puppy to the Phoenixville Animal Hospital for 3 months now. Doctors Galligher, Caulfield and Raab have been outstanding in every aspect of providing healthcare to our puppy and guidance to my wife and I as we adjust, in the most positive way, to raising our new Brittany. In addition to these excellent veterinarians, PAH employs an excellent staff - professional, courteous and very accommodating. So happy we found them in the Phoenixville area!!!

I never leave reviews, but this needed to be out there. We moved here from out-of-state 4 months ago. We loved our vet we had there, and were current with him since our 6 year old dogs were puppies. I saw on yelp positive reviews for this practice, and decided to establish care here. That was a mistake. After our first visit, I will have my records transferred elsewhere. First off, the facility is new and the front desk staff are very sweet. We were the only ones there for a noon appt arriving at 11:50a. I had my infant daughter with me, and one of our dogs who's been struggling with anxiety. Once brought back to our room, we waited for 50 minutes to be seen. By then, my baby was totally losing it and I was fuming. Then, Dr. Gallagher came in, and discussed my dogs anxiety with me. I found her incredibly condescending, and she made several comments about my daughter being distracting during the visit as she cried-- all because they were nearly an hour late to the visit. I later figured out that Dr.Gallagher had never gone over my dogs previous vet records that I had confirmed was faxed from my previous vet almost a week prior. After my wasted time and money, I will not be going back and will have my records transferred. I only write this for anyone else thinking to become a patient to discourage them to do so.
