We visited Xenos today while on a 5th grade field trip to Philadelphia. Most stores would be incredibly overwhelmed to have 3 groups of forty 10 and 11 years and their chaperones in one day but not at Xenos. Ms. Tina was so welcoming of all 3 groups. In my group one child was a little short to purchase a Benjamin Franklin bear and while another parent offered to pay the difference, Ms. Tina said "no worries" and let the child take the bear. When everyone was outside after making their purchases, Ms. Tina popped out of the door to thank us for coming, the group erupted in cheers and thanks yous to which Ms. Tina got emotional with tears in her eyes. Great store and owner, highly recommend!
Thanks again Ms. Tina!

Horrible rotten rude woman working behind the counter. I understand not wanting people touching your stuff but she simply told us to leave when we were ready to purchase. If she doesn't want people to take so long looking, she should find another job or organize her stupid shop better. We certainly weren't the ones who made it messy. Go to Old City Souvenirs instead!
ETA: We did NOT spend over an hour in the store. We opened maybe five shirts total but wouldn't have had to if things were tidy to begin with. We had decided and were literally ready to purchase when she told us to leave. Just to be petty, I'm adding our time-stamped receipts from Old City and Sonny's. We made purchases at both less than an hour apart yet somehow were able to spend "over an hour" at Xenos in between. We actually visited another store too before Xenos.

My mother, my boyfriend and I came in for a Liberty Bell souvenir. They had a selection of different sizes and a display item for each of them, placed on top of each variation. We tested the display items to see what they sounded like, since obviously the size of the bell changed the quality of the sound.
The lady behind the till then called out to us and told us to stop testing them because they were "all the same." We gave in, and simply decided to get the one we thought we liked. Once we had decided, my boyfriend and I each took a new box from underneath the display item and looked inside to check that what we were buying was OK for quality and not chipped or missing any parts. When the lady saw this, she said in a very stern voice, "They are all the same. Stop opening every single box. They are all the same!"
1. They were not the same, as any six-year-old can tell you.
2. We did not open all the boxes, only the ones we decided to buy as any CCTV footage (if there was one) can prove, and as any normal, discerning customer would.
3. We will not tolerate being spoken to like that.
We put the boxes back on the shelves and politely told her we were taking our business elsewhere.
My mother wrote a review of the shop and the lady responded to that review, still insisting on her accusations, and I quote her words:
"For a one piece Liberty Bell souvenir, you and husband spent lots of time opening and checking so carefully for all boxes of 6 sizes Bell and still can’t decide. This is a souvenir, not a Museum item, which cost lots of money."
Kudos to them for noting that we did it "so carefully." I would in turn argue that they should in fact call themselves a museum if they didn't allow anyone to touch their items. Put all of them in their boxes, tape them shut, lock them up in a glass case and stop calling themselves a shop.
Being situated in a city that celebrates American freedom, this establishment is run by a despot. Sure you can probably get what you're looking for (as long as it doesn't ring), but I would strongly advise not to support such people.
(Look out for a response to this review. Should be interesting.)

Extremely rude owner / lady. Was looking to buy two liberty bells then she told us in a very aggressive manner to stop touching them. She said they were all the same when they obviously weren't, and then accused us of opening all the boxes which we didn't. Needless to say we left the shop. Avoid at all costs.

This shop was awesome. Right in the city center and Tina the owner personally took perfect care of us. I was on FaceTime with my wife and tina was helping me pick out shirts and hoodies. Tina was a breath of fresh air. She has a small business that she loves and just wants to make people happy. Me and my buddy felt so welcome in such a different city. So if you ever visit Philly this is a MUST. She also taught us some history of the city.

My family and I had a great experience. Tina, the owner, was incredibly welcoming, warm, knowledgeable and engaging. She told us about the best places to try around and recommend her favorites, which were great! Her shop was wonderful and the prices were great! The variety of her merchandise was great and we found more than what we were looking for.Not only was she incredibly friendly, we even discussed upcoming vacations and she recommended where to go in her home country. We truly had a wonderful experience, I'll be going back again! Stopping by her store was one of the best parts of our trip to Philly.

All the reviews saying the owner is mean are crazy she is the nicest person I've met in Philadelphia, and I've met a lot of nice people here. The prices are fair and she has a great variety of stuff to choose from if you're going to a different gift shop, I suggest trying this one out first cuz you'll probably get a better price here. This was me and my family's first trip to Philadelphia and she definitely helped make it a memorable one if you're visiting philly you owe it to yourself to give this place a shot.P.S Thanks Tina!!!

She was very polite and showed interested in where I was from. If you are in the area and want to get great keep sakes and have a good laugh, stop by to see Ms. Hu. Hi Ms. Hu, it’s Cookie.
