I recently bought two typewriters, one for myself and one for my nine year old son. WPM is such a unique and friendly shop with the largest inventory of typewriters I could ever imagine! Be sure to visit the garden and the dollar bookcases outside.

Charming and eclectic store with a wonderful little "secret" garden next door. Always enjoy when we stop in or hang in the side. Really special little hidden treasure.

Great selection of interesting typewriters. Great for finding common and unusual/specialty machines (different languages, colors, fonts, larger format, etc). Pam is very knowledgeable and can recommend certain machines depending on your specific needs. Cool store, which was recently turned into a typewriter garden (!) as well.

(Pandemic period appraisal) calling ahead to book an appointment with Pam at WPM is required. The store itself has been closed to the public for three months and I don’t see it opening any time in the immediate future. For your visit you are asked specifically to name your desires — I was on the hunt for an ultraportable typewriter (read: Groma Kolibri); when you arrive the side garden ramble is seeded with typewriters perched on benches, stools and small tables. Bucolic. But I must advise you that Pam will treat you like you’re a carrier of the Andromeda Strain seeking not the mere six foot distance but at least ten feet of distance between she and you. Don’t take it personally she will tell you and then provide some family history and mention of a friend who specializes in viruses. So be prepared. Wear a mask. Gloves are a must and keep your distance. But it works. And Pam warms.I dropped off my Hermes 3000 — wonky key basket —for repair and checked out her crop of typewriters arrayed throughout the garden settling on a good quality Kolibri.Pam is passionate about the machines and the shop neighborhood and is only too willing to curate an itinerary for your consideration.Of what I could view of both the outdoor and indoor allotted space, I was positively green with envy to the point of turning a resplendent verdant.

Had an amazing experience here at WPM typewriter. Even during the pandemic they had a super cool setup with the typewriters in the back. Owner was super friendly and very knowledgeable. Purchased a Corona 3 and an Optima Elite typewriter. Amazingly redone, love it. Definitely going back for more.

I would give it more stars if i could. Todd is great and really knowledgeable, they are great about calling as soon as it's ready, and they have gotten both of my very beat up 60s Smith Coronas up and running beautifully. The pricing is also extremely reasonable. I will definitely continue to bring my typewriters to WPM.

Today on newscenter maine at 500 EST, they had a article on them. I called and hung up. They called back. I live in the middle of nowhere, so getting a ribbon for my S & C, Galaxie 12 is impossible. I ordered it from them and it will be on shipped by tomorrow. So Awesome!

An interesting visit to a quirky place during the pandemic. The owner is serious and knowledgeable about typewriters. The store was closed due to covid-19 but there was a great selection of rehabbed typewriters in the garden including two especially picked out based on a phone call with the owner. Great customer service and a whimsical setting!
