Uber-trendy upscale hotel in the heart of Center City/downtown. Ultra-modern lobby and public spaces. Fabulous views. Roof deck pool, fitness center, and gathering spaces on 7th floor. Small, clubby pool area with bar service, limited seating, paid cabanas; activated with many events, yoga, dj, artist chats.Might find overall atmosphere to be pretentious; velvet-rope-style, nightclub aesthetic. Young crowd, can be loud at evenings and on weekends. Pricey all around.Rooms have interesting layouts, translucent bathrooms have high end toiletries. Nice large beds. Interesting lighting options in room. Many dining options, including pool deck, room service, and other restaurants.Steps from City Hall, near Rittenhouse for shopping, Gayborhood/Midtown Village for restaurants and bars/clubs, theatres on Broad St only few blocks away.Walkability: Right in the center of town. Close to many major parks, attractions, restaurants, bars, nightclubs.

We had a "spectacular view" room on the 34th floor of the hotel. The staff was wonderful and our room was beautiful. Knocked one star only because this can be a bit of a party hotel on the weekends so you can be prepared to hear late nighters running around or coming in and out of rooms late at night which we briefly experience. Would still stay here again!

Customer service was terrible at check in. It took about 15 minutes of waiting in line to check in, and once we got to the front, there was no explanation of amenities etc. The employee gave the key and said, it's on the 39th floor. No room number, where the elevator was, nothing. We got to the room, and the carpet had not been vacuumed. Stains on the towels, but we had more towels, and broken fixtures such as the light on the side of the bed. Additionally, it was 77 degrees in the room. Lastly, some parts were so dusty that we could see our fingerprint, like on the desk. We were staying in Philly for a day, and had engagements, so we thought qe could address over the phone. We tried calling concierge, as that is the only option, and it was busy for the 10 minutes we attempted calling while getting ready. When we came downstairs to leave, we assumed we could talk to them, but again, very busy. The next day, we encountered another employee who just did the job, but with no hi, or anything extra to give besides doing her job. Didn't mind that too much, but just noting to show it is not just 1 employee. Will not be going back to this establishment.Walkability: Very walkable to many attractions.

My husband and I don’t go out much because we don’t have a babysitter often and money is not that easy to find haha. Well this weekend was the time! This hotel is absolutely stunning! From the view of the room to the decor in the room. Definitely for a modern romance kind of people. It’s just so relaxing with the view alone! Like I am SO HAPPY I chose this hotel! So far my favorite hotel. I have been to two other in the city but this one tops it all. Coming again and hopefully soon!

This hotel is in a great location, beautiful with an overall great staff and I have stayed at this hotel multiple times with complete pleasure overall. Unfortunately, you have to be very very careful walking in your room with socks on. I had a very nasty accident in my room which almost cost me my life not once but twice, the first time was when I was getting out of bed with my socks on… not sure how…. But I slipped on the carpet unable to catch my balance landing backwards into the TV cabinets taking a chuck if my arms skin with it and the second time was in the shower room. Right before you enter the shower, its VERY slippery and if you are not careful you WILL slip and possibly injury yourself. Just be careful. Other than that… I enjoy this hotel very much and will walk barefoot going forward on those slippery carpets. Also thank you to all the staff members and managers who tended to my wounds, as I was bleeding profusely after my accident in the bedroom. They were genuinely concerned with my wellbeing and even sent me a fruit platter with a large flat bottled water ( they offered Champagne but I cant drink). Thanks again!

Beautiful new hotel with very modern styling. Rooms are excellent, as are both bars. I didn't get a chance to try it, but there's an outdoor heated pool. Most rooms give you nice views of the city.Walkability: Very walkable to anywhere in downtown Philly

Before you finalize any booking, take a moment to visit ʜᴏᴛᴇʟᴅᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ It turned my almost-expensive trip into a budget-friendly escape. I stayed here for my birthday and had the most amazing experience! I didn't check in until almost 9pm and wasn't having the best birthday until I got to the hotel. From the minute I pulled up to the valet I was greeted by W, he said welcome to the W my name is W and had the biggest smile, he was so nice!. When I checked in I was upgraded to a studio suite which brought me to tears, the room was incredible! Ebony was the sweetest girl at the front desk!.Jess, jonny and X were behind the bar and they were also wonderful. The whole staff is super nice! The pool is also worth checking out. I will definitely be returning!Watch out for Tatiana tho, she's pretty rude and hostile towards guests.

It's in the middle of the Philadelphia city, walkable (most places within 15 minutes, and someplaces within 30 minutes) for the most famous places. We stayed in the skyline view room which was so great. Also, they have a good gym (even though they have a few equipment, very clean and well maintained equipment!) This hotel has 2 bars (one in the 1st floor and the other one in the 7th floor). We stayed 39th floor, but the guests who stayed next room invited his friends and they kept in and out loudly and having party with loud music till 3 am. We couldn't sleep, and when we called to the front desk, and the secutity team came right away and resolved it. We liked the room, staff, service location, just feel not safe at night for the hotel guests.

Not a service one would expect from W brand. Hotel is beautiful, well designed, chic and seductive, elegant and modern, as one would expect W Hotel to be, but service...... as a guest, we didn't pay $400+ per night to enjoy gorgeous chandeliers, but to enjoy good service W is known for.We contacted whatever/whenever for a simple amenity, and while it was promised to be delivered, that never happened. Most of the time, we didn't feel like hotel guests but intruders who didn't know staff members to let us into the bar area.....On Sunday morning, after waiting for over hour and half for our car from valet, "manager" came and apologized kindly informing us that she will comp entire valet from our bill. Well, difficulties happen, and I took this as an act from manager, and W Hotel desire to get things right. But now looking at the bill I realize that didn't happen. All of the valet charges are included. I paid over $250 to be standing in the rain for over an hour. As guest i understand that mistakes happen, but being lied to, that is unacceptable. And please, those good morning/afternoon/evening carpets, please have them cleaned or at least vacuumed. Same mats are very welcoming reminder that staff is here working to make our stay memorable. I saw them on sandy beaches of W Maldives and they were cleaner then the ones in the elevators of W Philadelphia.Noteworthy details: Whatever you do, avoid Valet parking... actually, avoid this hotel completely, Philadelphia have so many better places to stay.

I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience while trying to contact the hotel in advance of my stay. The level of incompetence and disregard for customer service displayed during this ordeal was truly disappointing. To begin with, it took me no less than five attempts to reach the front desk personnel. Each time I called, I was met with an endless ringing tone or was put on hold for an unreasonable amount of time. This lack of responsiveness and accessibility left me feeling ignored and undervalued as a potential guest. When I finally managed to get through to someone, I was informed that the concierge was off on Mondays and that I should call back the following day. While I understand that staff scheduling can vary, the representative's dismissive tone and lack of concern for my inquiries were completely unwarranted. Instead of offering a solution or expressing empathy for the inconvenience caused, they coldly suggested that it was my problem and that I should just call back the next day.Furthermore, the representative shockingly suggested that I consider staying at a different hotel if I was going to have an "attitude." This response was both unprofessional and completely uncalled for. As a potential guest, I deserved to be treated with respect and understanding, not met with rudeness and condescension. The purpose of calling ahead is to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience during my stay. Unfortunately, this hotel failed miserably in delivering even the most basic level of customer service over the phone. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for my concerns have left me with serious reservations about staying at this establishment.I cannot recommend this hotel based on my terrible experience with their pre-stay phone communication. The lack of responsiveness, the dismissive attitude, and the unprofessional behavior exhibited by the front desk personnel were simply unacceptable. As a guest, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of the circumstances. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issues to avoid similar frustrations for future guests.

Just wanted to leave a 5 star review for Tiffany who works at the front desk. I’ve stayed here a few times and the whole staff is amazing but Tiffany went above and beyond. So welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. The W is lucky to have her!!!

Here are the positives, the location is great, you're in the city center so everything is close by. We got a corner room on the 40th floor so the view was amazing. The room itself was decent size and relatively clean. Service was mostly good with exception to Valet Parking. Here are the negatives. Normally I wouldn't care as much about these things at a cheaper hotel chain but when you're paying over $500 for a one night stay, details matter. The room was relatively clean but when you're paying for luxury you expect more. The shower and sink area had visible soap scum, carpet was dingy, the room felt like it could use a deep clean. The King size bed seemed more like a large queen size, only reason we notice this is because we have a King size we sleep on in our own house and it's definitely bigger than the one at the hotel. The wifi wasn't free, unless you sign up for a Marriott BonVoy membership. I've stayed at cheap inns where they offer free wifi without you having to jump through hoops to get it. The fact that this is a luxury hotel and you have to pay for wifi is absurd. Lastly the Valet Parking was just ridiculous. When we checked in, we were told it can take up to 30 minutes to get our car so plan accordingly, which we were ok with. When we checked out, we were told exactly that when we went to get our car which we didn't mind since we were in no hurry. We waited for an hour to get our car. During that time, we had two different Valet that came up to us and ask to see our Valet ticket so they can retrieve the car, this is after I initially showed them the ticket. Granted they were busy since everyone was checking out around the same time, but waiting for an hour was just absurd. Thankfully we didn't have anywhere to be like catching a plane. Be warn that if you need your car to go anywhere that's time sensitive, plan at least an hour wait to get your car.

It appears this hotel has limited staff. Check in only had 1 agent who was working and I waited on line for more then 15 minutes. Coffee which was suppose to be in the lobby at 6:30 am was not put out until close to 8 am. Although the hotel is somewhat new, the rooms are run down. My shower head kept falling off and there was black tape around my window. Overall I would not stay at this hotel again.
