Well worth the trip! After seeing reviews I drove 3 hours from Upstate NY to drop off my Vanagon with Kevin and Brian (the train station within a block of shop makes this ideal). At drop off Kevin didn’t just take the keys and shoo me out. He took the time to discuss everything I wanted done. Brian sent pics, texts, and called daily to update me on how progress was going. At pick up Brian thoroughly went through everything. They know VWs. These guys care, something you don’t always get these days. Had my bus towed here after almost 6 months and 2 different repair shops didn't fix the problem (second guy said he could fix it but let it sit for 2 1/2 months and never even looked at it). Kevin and Brian had it diagnosed and fixed in ONE DAY! I definitely recommend these guys. They know their VWs and are honest and fair.

If you need your vw worked on , go to these guys, Kevin and Brian are keeping the vw culture alive, they explain what they are doing and keep you informed , all with a good natured sense of humor.

Brian and Kevin are the go to guys , if you need service on your Vanagon or Beetle, they actually keep you informed, about what your vehicle needs, then they show you the repairs they’ve made. I highly recommend them.

If you have a Vanagon take these guy’s number down. I drive all the way from NYC to get my car worked on here. There will be no head scratching or going from one mechanic to another. Kevin will know what’s wrong and fix your problem. Prices are reasonable as well.

If you need your Volkswagen repaired, Kevin and Brian are the best, I like how they kept me aware of what they were doing, the cars running great, and I will definitely be taking it back to their shop for service .

These guys are the real deal! Starter diagnosed and replaced same day as drop off and price reasonable. The mechanics are extremely knowledgeable and experienced -- your van will be grateful to be worked on by them.

Kevin is the guy to go to for anything Vanagon or VW bus related in the area. He did a Subaru engine conversion on my van and it's never run better. He's honest and helpful...once I needed help while on the road and he called me on a weekend and walked me through an issue thy I was able to fix without calling AAA. Would not hesitate to go to Mayer's VW from anywhere in Northeast or MidAtlantic.

Kevin and Bryan did a phenomenal job on my 1971 camper. Completely rebuilt my carburetor and fixed my breaks when I was cruising through town. They knew everything there is to know about the engine and car itself! Not only was it reasonable, timely, and great service, but they also have some amazing stories and are two genuinely great guys. Even if it’s out of the way for you, I’d come here EVERY time. They do it all too, not just engine or body work. I’d honestly come by just for the laughs and good atmosphere if I was Philly local
