“Was looking online for a reliable, honest mechanic I could trust, since mechanic that once serviced my vehicles for 10+ years was no longer in service. Came across Universal auto repair and they great reviews, so I decided to make an appointment. Explained exactly what I was experiencing when driving. At first glance they couldn’t pin point the issue but with a bit more info from me they figured it out. Also had inspections/emission and daylight replaced. Will be taking my vehicle to them going forward. If looking for a trustworthy and friendly shop this is the one. Highly recommend ?”

“Well worth the trip! After seeing reviews I drove 3 hours from Upstate NY to drop off my Vanagon with Kevin and Brian (the train station within a block of shop makes this ideal). At drop off Kevin didn’t just take the keys and shoo me out. He took the time to discuss everything I wanted done. Brian sent pics, texts, and called daily to update me on how progress was going. At pick up Brian thoroughly went through everything. They know VWs. These guys care, something you don’t always get these days. “Incredible experience!! I called a bunch of places and no one could help me on short notice. It was a time sensitive concern, and Accurate-tune was the only place that offered any help. They were fast but also thorough and fixed my problem.
For first time visitors, note that there is not really any parking. Just find somewhere along the street or free curb. The office door is all the way to the left.”

“This is probably the best experience I've ever had when taking my car to a mechanic. The guys are super friendly and professional, the office is clean, and they were able to get me an appointment within a couple days (which they were ready for!) and got my car fixed in a couple of hours. They were transparent with the pricing and the entire process was super easy. Hopefully I won't need a mechanic again anytime soon but when that time comes, I'll be coming back here.”

“I had such a lovely experience at Phil’s! I got my oil changed at a separate Philly garage and they diagnosed my car with a ton of issues and gave me a super high quote for them — they were quite pushy for me to get the services done then and there, despite the high cost being out of my budget then. It left me with a bad feeling so I went to Phil’s for a second look. He easily could’ve sold me on the same scam diagnosis, but instead thoroughly and thoughtfully checked out my car and pointed to where the first estimate was off. I appreciated his honesty and transparency — he took photos of everything as my car was serviced and even helped walk me through a few parts once it was complete. I will definitely be back!”

“Never write reviews, but just wanted to acknowledge the good people that work at Phil's shop. I brought my car in to have an inspection and a mirror replaced, which they did a great job with. I especially appreciate the transparency/efficiency with their phone/email follow up and digital quotes. After my car was repaired, it was parked on the street for me to pick up that afternoon. In that brief time, the car was hit by a truck that drove away (a rare but standard risk for any shop that doesn't have a lot to park cars under their care). Phil's team was extremely professional about the situation, filed a hit&run report, and took care of the subsequent repairs without any fuss. I think a lot of shop owners would have tried to deflect the responsibility, but they were really calm and easy to work with in a stressful situation. They are trustworthy, good-hearted people.”
