The Ridgeland Mansion, set against the verdant backdrop of West Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, is a historic gem with a rich architectural legacy. Built between 1752 and 1762, the mansion is a fine example of Federal-style architecture, characterized by its gable-roofed design and Wissahickon schist construction. The mansion’s distinctive round windows, including two small oval windows on the northwestern facade and a divided semicircular window in the southeastern gable, add to its architectural uniqueness. Over the years, the mansion has been expanded with wood-frame extensions, maintaining its historical integrity while adapting to contemporary needs. Today, the Ridgeland Mansion stands as a testament to Philadelphia’s architectural heritage, offering a picturesque venue for events and serving as a sanctuary for the Cancer Support Community Greater Philadelphia.

There are so many words I could use to describe our experience at the Ridgeland Mansion; Flawless, magical, perfect, top notch, professional, elegant are just a few. From the well kept beautiful setting, the friendly amazing staff, the ease of communication, to the night of when the split second anything went a bit off kilter, it was fixed immediately ( the bustle of the brides dress tore, Jen was there with pins before I even had to look for her! A glass broke on the dance floor, a broom was on it before the band moved on to the next song!) I could go on and on. Jen and staff made our night a night to remember and cherish forever! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Jenn, Brian, and the entire Joshua’s catering team truly knocked it out of the park for our May wedding at Ridgeland Mansion! From the food itself, the presentation, and the service - they were awesome and absolutely exceeded expectations. We had a pescatarian wedding (heavy on the vegetarian only options) and they were very accommodating and allowed us to make some modifications to give us exactly what we wanted. We were hearing from guests how delicious the food was, and everyone was raving about how kind and hospitable the staff was all night. The team’s day-of execution was flawless and everyone was such a pleasure to work with.

Just two weeks ago, for the first tome we had the chance to photograph Liz & Vin’s wedding at The Ridgeland Mansion! What a beautiful place to celebrate the wedding. Hidden in nature right in Philadelphia this place was a dream.

It's was a fantastic event. The food, the music and the venue. I worried about being outside, but we were not bothered by mosquitoes and it felt as personal as any event. We were lost in the loving gazes of the couple. The ambiance was perfect.. congratulations ? to the beautiful couple.

The property is beautiful, but they need to get another caterer. Joshua catering was so terrible I don't know where to start! And Do Not even think about using Heather as their suggested "party planner". I would absolutely have another event there if I could use a different caterer, but they're exclusive to ridgeland, & you have to use them.

The Ridgeland Mansion was our 1st choice for our venue after falling in love with the pictures and then having a tour to witness how magical it was. We also loved that venue fees would be a donation to the Cancer Support Community. Unfortunately, we were unable to move forward with this beautiful venue after meeting and speaking with Jennifer Alvarado. Our experience just through email was not very friendly, and often came across as condescending and short, but we still decided to schedule a tour on a day & time of her choosing-which she arrived late to. Once there, we did enjoy being shown around and asked various questions that seemed to be given thorough responses. What we came to learn after planning to book was how unprofessional Jennifer was and the price gouging that seemed to be taking place. We were provided a different financial quote from open aire affairs versus what Jennifer originally quoted and then another price the day after we met. Despite asking directly what the deposit would be, she was not honest nor upfront. Joshua's Catering makes it known on their site that there are no hidden fees, but that was not our experience. Once we received a different amount than what we spoke face to face about, we questioned Jennifer about this, and in her response she attempted to gaslight and did not fully answer questions provided. Instead, her response was to send 4 checks for a venue deposit to an address and location in Jersey; but the address for Joshua's Catering was a Philly address. I truly believe this was her private home address and why would I send ANY checks to your home when we could meet and do this in person? The whole experience made us feel weary and uncomfortable. This is a beautiful venue space but Jennifer is not pleasant or honest to work with. At the end of it all, you have to be willing and able to fully trust the venue/person in charge you will be trusting with your wedding day. Not only do we not trust our money with her, we can't trust her words. It was so heartbreaking to give up this venue, but the peace of mind we gained was worth it. Please make sure you are getting the full breakdown of everything. The two star rating is strictly for the space; it was stunning.

My daughter was wedded at the mansion. The Ridgeland facility staff, independent wedding planner, catering contractors and everything else were perfect!

My husband and I had our wedding at Ridgeland in April and it was outstanding. The venue was beautiful; I loved the different areas of the venue. The ceremony took place down in the lower garden, the cocktail hour was in/outside the barn, the reception was in a large tent. I really loved the fire pit area adjacent to the tent – it gave people another location to hang out and talk if they didn’t want to dance. The mansion with the bridal suite was gorgeous and homey.Jenn and the servers were phenomenal. Jenn is one of those people who has everything under control, you don’t have to worry. The servers were so kind and attentive. Many guests commented on how wonderful the service was.A standout example of the excellence of Ridgeland Mansion/Joshua’s Catering - our officiant was late and Ridgeland seamlessly flipped our cocktail hour and ceremony at the last minute to accommodate. They were so flexible and pulled this off so well. Thank you, thank you, thank you.The food was outstanding. Joshua’s Catering has many vegan and vegetarian options, and was considerate of guest dietary needs. We did all vegan/vegetarian hors d'oeuvre and everything was delicious.Ridgeland Mansion was amazingly affordable, particularly given the beautiful venue, the delicious food, and the tremendous level of service. Definitely a hidden gem of the Philadelphia wedding scene. We just adored Ridgeland Mansion as a wedding venue. We wanted to find a place that accommodated a large number of people, but didn’t want a ballroom. Ridgeland Mansion really fit the bill. Everything was lovely, but at the same time felt simple, not over the top.Ridgeland also graciously allowed us to bring our dog which was much appreciated!

I’ve taken nearly a year to write this review because, frankly, I didn’t want to. At first, I loved everything about Ridgeland Mansion. It was absolutely beautiful, the food from Joshua’s Catering was delicious and our primary contact, Jenn, was kind and attentive. However, that was not our experience on our wedding day. First, we got a text that morning that our ice cream from Weckerly’s was not available (no explanation given) and another dessert option would be available. When I told Jenn how much I was looking forward to Weckelry’s, she was able to get a small amount for myself and the groom which was very appreciated. During the wedding, Jenn was largely absent. I had to find her to start the ceremony and I found myself cuing the band, organizing our entrance and asking for food to be served. We paid for a three course meal, but our guests were not served the first course (salad), though myself and the groom were. Jenn was also absent during the first dance and toast, so the bridal party organized that with the band. At the send of the night, Jenn was again absent and I had to go find her in another building to help pass out sparklers for the exit. All of this was in a timeline I had made and gone over with her in advance of the wedding. The week before the wedding, I asked her for a call to review final details as I had not spoken to Jenn in several months and seemed annoyed at the request. I really do hate to leave a less than 5 star review, but our experience at Ridgeland was not great.I’ve noticed in other reviews that Jenn was difficulty to work with. If there is an opportunity to work with a different representative, I would absolutely recommend that.

I am very happy with our experience with the Ridgeland Mansion! We had our wedding here in September and it was absolutely beautiful. We fell in love with the Ridgeland Mansion from the first time we toured it, and met Jennifer, who was our point of contact throughout the whole process. The venue is very unique, and our guests loved it! We were also very pleased with our experience working with Joshua's Catering - the food was delicious and the staff was great! I highly recommend this venue if you're looking for something a little rustic and different. Thank you, Jenn, and everyone the Ridgeland Mansion for making our wedding dreams come true!

Recently a family member had their wedding here. The facility is very nicy as well as quiet and secluded. I'm not sure what all was included and what was out sourced, but it seems like a very nice venue for this type of event.
