I will miss The Bellevue as it closes it's doors for renovations. Spent Thanksgiving here for 6 years plus. The staff is ALWAYS on point and Eager to serve. The location is wonderful. When the doors reopen it will be newer and better. The Grand Dame of Broad street shall return better than ever!!Nearby activities: It's Center City, PLENTY TO DO!!

The rooms are clean but very dated. Carpeting in halls and rooms is coming apart at seams, lighting is yellowish and adds to the dated/depressing atmosphere. Ate breakfast in the restaurant XIX. Service was great, food was good, but again there was a lack of upkeep. I was seated at a window table, and the bottom pane of the window was shattered. I can't believe it hadn't been replaced or covered - was in full view not hidden behind a chair or curtain. A lot of posters in the lobby about the new vision but there was nothing on the website about future renovations. Location is perfect - walk to great restaurants, theater, and historic sites. If you're just looking for a room for the night, it's okay, but barely earns 3 stars and certainly not the 4.5 on other websites.

Terrible experience here. The hotel feels haunted. I can’t believe they’re still renting out rooms in the bad condition it’s in during construction. Only one elevator was working for my entire stay, causing massive delays in getting downstairs. Bell hops were very rude and need to be trained in customer service and loyalty. I’ll try my best not to be back, even if it results in missing out on Hyatt points.

This hotel is located in a very historic building. It's charming but definitely dated. Walking thru the hotel could feel like going thru a big maze. The queen room I was assigned was very spacious but it was very dark and dim, there wasn't any ceiling light or anything. There was no valet when I arrived. 3 out of 5.I also went to the upstairs bar (XIX) for dining at one night. It was a bit jarring to navigate after the elevator but it's an absolutely a beautiful place. If you could snag a table by the windows you have this beautiful city view. The vibe is overall quiet and intimate. The drink was ok but the food (I tried the kimchi fried rice and wings) was overall disappointing. You could easily get food twice as good with much less of the price tag in the neighborhood. I was also annoyed by the fact that their receipt lacks a printed date and time and became a nightmare when trying to expense it back to my accounting. 3 out of 5.I would look elsewhere if the rate is over 200.Rooms: Spacious. Dark. Dim. Hard to navigateFood & drinks: Food was underwhelming. Drink was ok.

Completely understaffed. Arrived - no vallet for parking and no bellman. Carried own bags up to 15 floor. Room service consisted of meal coming in a brown bag as a take out order from their restaurant. Rooms were dated, noosey and ill furnished.Definitely not worth the cost.

This is not the cleanest hotel that we have stayed at. There were yellow stains and blood stains on the sheets. We had to request for our sheets to be swapped out with 2 prompting phone calls to the front desk. We waited for an hr, then left the hotel and came back and realized the sheets were still not attended to. There were blood stains and mouth wash stains on the walls by the sink . The bathroom had rust and mold along the shower. In addition the breakfast buffet was not complimentary … $73 for 2 people. The elevator is also extremely slow. This hotel is not the best at being baby stroller friendly . They have an ancient claustrophobic tiny elevator that barely fit my baby and Husband. They also did not seem to enforce the limited noise curfew after a certain time. Not fun having to soothe a baby after other guests were roaming the halls in a loud manner after 11pm. Also there was not a hot tub or pool on site. Not the best experience but the location of the hotel was convenient.

This hotel is located near to City Hall. The valet was not working when we arrived, we had to self park and carry our bags inside ourselves.I was surprised by the bill at check in, after inquiring, the charges were explained to me. Typically, the charges are explained to you without asking at hotels of this caliber. The building is old, the elevators are old and the rooms are old. The layout of the room was outdated and in need of renovation.I would not recommend this hotel, nor would I stay here again.Rooms: The room was very old, and appears to be a repurposed closet.

The building has coming renovations, I like the old world charm, but some people will complain about nicked furniture and overall signs of wear, but I love it. I did NOT love 2 things 1.) okay maybe the one of 2 elevators isn't working, but they failed to even provide an explanation - waiting for an elevator from XIX on top took over 5 minutes each time. 2.) they don't answer the phone at the restaurant at 530, the phone bounces to the front desk, who takes the order, but then the order never gets relayed upstairs - we had to leave the restaurant without all of our food order.

Hotel staff are wonderful and go the extra mile to help. I had ordered an item online from Amazon while in the hotel. Unfortunately it got delivered after I checked out. One of the assistant managers, Carrie communicated with the shipping department and kept me posted over multiple days. Very impressed with her service.Rooms: Rooms are quite average. Not luxurious. If you like the British/Indian style coffee or tea in your room, you need lots of creamers. This can be a problem. The creamer is packaged with sugar, stirrer, etc. So we ended up wasting a lot of sugar. Should be easy to fix this.

The food here was pretty good. The pic doesn't do it the most justice lol. But what really stood out was the amazing staff. This was my friend's and I first trip to Philly (all but one of us at least) and we made reservations online but didn't realize they were basically right at close. Parking was a nightmare in my friends big truck so some of us were late and it was rapidly approaching closing, but they waited on us and still served us. The server and staff were amazing and we had an excellent experience. It's very beautiful restaurant that we essentially had to ourselves. I can't emphasize enough how great the staff both servers and chefs were.

Rooms are tired and in need of updating. Furniture is battered and bruised. Sad because bones of hotel are beautiful and has potential. Overshadows good service and good location.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at The Bellevue. We spent 2 nights in a Bellevue Suite. Enormous amount of space. It was in need of a little renovating but we expected this coming to the old, historic hotel. The interior is gorgeous. We got to explore the conservatory a bit; can’t wait until they open that back up, such a great spot! The lounge bar was pretty cool. We had a late dinner there one night. I had the Korean wings and bao buns while my spouse had the salmon burger. All the food was tasty! Our bartender was awesome and fun to chat with. The whole staff that we encountered from start to finish was so nice and helpful. We were really concerned about our stay after reading so many terrible reviews but we just can’t relate. Plenty of hot water, friendly staff, great views, great service. There were some dustier areas of the room that could use extra attention but the linens and bathroom were clean and that’s what we care most about. We can’t wait to come back after the renovations. Side note: the giant gym and shopping area of The Bellevue are under renovation!! No construction noises can be heard from the 17th floor…the street noise wasn’t bad either. It’s on a major street in a busy area of Philly so of course it’s gonna be a little noisy. There’s also an abundance of verbally aggressive but docile homeless people in the area, to be expected. We also think the cost is about right for the area. We stayed in an 800+ sqft room for the same cost of a shoebox at The W or The Ritz. Give The Bellevue a try and treat the staff like you would want to be treated, you’ll have a lovely stay.Rooms: In need of renovation but still nice.Nearby activities: Historical landmarks in walking distance. Parks and lots of food and beverage (nightlife) in walking distance.Safety: Lots of homeless people but I never felt unsafe.Walkability: You can walk all of Philadelphia center city or use public transit. Subway station right next to hotel.Food & drinks: Plenty of options for all in the area. Some open late night.
