Terrible customer service. Gym has some decent equipment, but has non existent standards around cleanliness (clients not cleaning body fluids off of equipment used, weights not being put back, equipment being hard to find at odd times). Was hopeful a new owner would turn it around, but it is obvious that’s not the case.

My husband and I stumbled upon this gym on our way to visit a different gym. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and appreciated. We joined the same day and it's been a wonderful experience since then. This gym has all of the equipment we need and the atmosphere is one where people come in, do the necessary work and leave. The bonus is that it's within 10 minutes of our home. We plan to be members as long as we are in this area.

This gym is amazing. Friendly staff, good hours, great equipment and not too big but not too small. I love everything about Sweat and highly recommend it to anyone new to the gym or to any seasoned gym goer. I would give more than 5 stars if possible. ?

Love this gym from the layout that allows multiple people to work efficiently to the array of machines to the cleanliness — especially following the pandemic. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, Stedman is the most pleasant face and always has a cheery disposition when greeting and Sarah’s Sunday playlist will get you through the hardest workouts. Been coming here for 5+ years and no plans to quit anytime soon.

Can’t say enough good things about Sweat Fitness and the amazing staff there. Comprehensive full service gym, loads of super clean equipment at an amazingly reasonable cost. Most importantly, super friendly staff who make you feel comfortable whenever you enter - particularly Stedman, Sequoia, Brett, and Sarah at the front desk and Luke, the best trainer in the city.

This is the best gym. I love it because it's so close to my house, clean, has friendly and knowledgeable staff, and everything I could ever need to work out.

I never reviewed the old Sweat but new Sweat definitely deserves some credit. They have refreshed the gym and bathrooms, gym is always clean and all the staff I’ve encountered have been great. If you are looking for a straightforward gym where you can do your routine and have the space and basic equipment you need, then this could be the gym for you.

I had very mixed emotions when I first toured and signed up for this gym. The equipment was dated and a few of the devices were in need of repair. The free weights were sparse, only having one flat bench and one deadlifting platform. During the summer months, the gym was always 80+ degrees due to poor insulation. I was ok with this gym because it was significantly cheaper than City Fitness and the staff seemed friendly enough. However, all my feelings changed for the worse when I tried to cancel my membership. They are trying to charge me over $110 in cancellation fees even though I gave them ample warning and I had received emails saying it would only be a fraction of the cost. I tried to work with the manager, Stedelman(?), but he refused to budge on the fees. I am very disappointed at this gym especially since I thought they were friendly people.

felt like I should write a review since so many were negative! I dragged my feet on ending my membership (due to moving north) because honestly, I loved my routine here! And everyone on staff was a gem! It's definitely a smaller gym, but I'm not an intense work-outter so it was fine.Anytime a piece of equipment I used needed fixing, it would be fixed within a few days.Personally I think they could use the upstairs a biiiit more efficiently and take away a few treadmills/ellipticals/stairmasters to get more machines in, b/c there were a few I missed from the old Sweat (Queen Village). But overall I was quite happy with it, and it never felt crowded.I didn't love the random $60 fee (I think that was the amount?) that was to help pay for random upkeep/updating the old-ness of the building etc ( I think they said that) - to me that's just overhead for your business I'm not responsible for it - just include it in the monthly bill. But whatever. I will say it got better (air conditioning!) after they got NEW management last fall, so at least the $$ was put to good use!!The new management also extended hours, which was nice! It made it so much easier to go later at night.Ending my membership was easy and took a single phone call and an email to start the 60-day clock.Goodbye soon, Sweat! :'(

Don’t join this gym. Predatory contract, horrible dated and beat up equipment, overpriced. I was never made aware of the 2-month cancel notice. I’m currently talking to useless customer support that take forever to respond, just trying to cancel my membership. Also they charged me during COVID when they stated in an email that facility would be closed until further notice because of the pandemic.Horrible all around.

As a gym Sweat Fitness is one of the worst I’ve ever been to. It’s exactly like planet fitness except Sweat doesn’t have new equipment and no one is ever there. It feels like the whole gym has quit. Even the new equipment are just 4 (5lb dumbbells).More frustrating I had a friend sign up thinking that maybe that would make a difference but we both agreed this gym was terrible . Maureen the new manager was less than helpful in cancelling this membership. He has been trying to end his membership for over a month. Their third party ABC fitness were not helpful and directed us to the club. The club is now making us pay for two months to cancel which is ridiculous. If they waived that there’s might be a chance we would return at some point but this just adds resentment to an already terrible experience. I would not recommend anyone joining here.

This gym has a lot of work that needs to be done. Its a good price, but machines are broken, theres wooden ledges that have given me splinters and not to mention the customer service that comes with trying to freeze or cancel your membership is awful. I had called and emailed numerous times to freeze my membership and even spoke with the manager directly and still got charged for a new month. now apparently theres no option for a refund and i have to jump through hoops to get my account canceled starting next month. not worth it for a gym with basically the bare minimum features. also, cant speak for all the fitness classes offered, but the yoga class was terrible. i wouldnt recommend it

The local Manayunk branch closed when Sweat Fitness under went new management. It’s been 3 months and my reoccurring charges have not been canceled or refunded, despite multiple emails to their customer care center and the south Philly branch. I’ve now disputed all charges with my credit card company, blocked them as an authorized vendor and will be filing a BBB complaint.
