After many negative interactions at a nail salon I switched to this salon and thought I found a great nail tech, Katie. I began doing dip due to the extreme damage that was done by the previous salon.
I expressed this and Katie seemed to do her best. It wasn’t until a few visits later and she began the dip. I asked her to manicure my nails first since my cuticles were overgrown. She said no I don’t do that with dip?!
That is not true. You can push back and remove it. She did it but reluctantly. I also asked if she would use a separate dish to dip my nails and a freshly opened jar.
She became angry and said “we don’t do that”. The risk of bacteria and then infection is so great if you do not have sanitary practices.
Needless to say, another salon I will not frequent!

I've been coming here for pedicures for a while, the service is always great but today they raised the bar and I didn't think that was even possible. I got a spa pedicure, which is absolute heaven on earth, done by Lucy who has amazing hands that put me in a trance. Every pedicure comes with a hot rock massage, which is my favorite part of the pedicure, it is very classy and very relaxing. I have never gotten a hot rocks at any other salon. While at the pedicure bowl, Ken came and sat next to me to do my very natural looking overlay, and he gives the best massages, I wish I could steal him ?. At other Salons you would be there for hours because they are usually done as two separate services, today's service was really elevated by having them done at the same time, gave me back at least an hour that I was planning to spend there. I come from west philly to get my nails done, but I'd make the commute here even if I lived in Antarctica. This salon is not just the best in South Philly, but the absolute best in Philly! This is a pic of my overlay, if you're a nurse girly like me, how would they even know?!

Ken clearly only likes to do long nails, I had got new short nail overlay, it was acrylic under my nails, the application was thick and lumpy, they charged me $30 for chrome French tips and the chrome was chipped within 24 hrs my nails were $130 and a total waste they were ugly, they do nice long nails and it felt like they take care of the people they know, well that’s an easy way to get a NEW customer to never come back!

Prejudice. I'm black. Went in for a pedicure. They immediately say to me "wash your hands". I repeated to make certain I heard correctly. She said sternly again "yes wash your hands". I'm having a pedicure but I comply and wash my hands. Fast forward thirty minutes I'm drying my toes. A white woman comes in and she asks with all smiles what re you getting done? The woman tells the tech and she tells her to go and have a seat. 54 yes old and fed up with this kind of treatment I finally speak up. I ask the Asian nail tech in privacy why she had me wash my hands. She said "it's what we do to every customer." I say to her "you didnt tell your last customer" as i reference the customer. She smiles, laughed uncomfortably and said "oh it must have slipped my mind." I will never return. They were rude. I will never spend my money where I am not welcome. I still tipped too. I'm too kind and sometimes I wish I wasn't.

Pretty nice nail salon. I always get gel manicure and pedicure but the manicure tends to peel or chip pretty quickly. I'm gonna have to find a new salon soon because it's just a waste of money if it's not gonna last more than a week. They also don't seem to be good at making and keeping appointments so you might as well just walk in.

As per usual, I have to give Ms. Sang her props for turning my hands and feet into some kind of art. I really appreciate the time she takes with me, as she knows how picky I am. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable and if anyone is in the 20th and Passyunk Ave. area come through and get pampered.

They do not honor their posted prices or coupons that they provide. I never had a problem with my gel manicure or gel pedicurebut I resent being duped with pricing. There are other salons that honor their posted prices and do great work

First time here and I was really satisfied. Ken is very dedicated and took his time to do my nails. Finally found my guy in South Philly! I also had a pedicure. It was a basic pedicure but great overall. I will be return for my refills!

I really enjoyed my first time at south philly nails and I will be going back. I believe it was Ken who did my mani/pedi and he was wonderful! I got the spa pedi for my bday and it was so relaxing! I got dip on my nails and it lasted 3 weeks no chipping! Very simple inside but clean and quiet!
