This Save-a-lot has bad fruit, but good quality meats. Of course, there are never enough cashiers two at the most, but the cashiers are courteous and friendly. Sometimes, the prices fluctuate weekly, but I still shop there occasionally.

Buyer beware of ready made jerk season chicken. I bought some three times. The first time I bought some I kind of thought that the store may used chicken that was close to expiring because the label says to cook with 24 to 48 hours of freeze immediately but I decided to trust it and cooked it and eat it. I bought some the second time and ate it but still had my thoughts. Well this third time I bought the ready made seasoned Jerk Chicken and I cooked it and ate a few pieces and noticed that one of the pieces had a lot of chicken hair still attached and also some of the chicken had a slimy texture even though it was well done. I say all this to say to beware of the chicken that has ready made Jerk season on it because you can barely tell whats wrong with the chicken due to the dark color. I think Save a Lot using chicken that is expired or has not been throughly cleaned or has some other type of issue and season it and sell it to customers.

As soon as you enter, there's always a displeasing odor, whether from the produce upfront or just the building overall. Prices are high for the mediocre products.

Fully stocked. Clean. Good parking availability. Patronize this business a few times. Like most Save-A-Lot's, sometimes there's only one cashier serving a long line before another line is open. Other than that I have no complaints.

I entered Save A Lot briefly but left without purchasing anything. I was shocked to find that all visible exits out of the store had been blocked using store shelves and filled shopping carts. Motion activated doors prevented me from leaving through the front entrance. The only available exit was through the single checkout lane that was staffed. The checkout lane had a long line of customers waiting to pay. I understand that retail theft and understaffing are major problems at Philly grocery stores, but this is unacceptable. I cannot imagine how patrons would exit the store in the event of an emergency.
