ZACHARY CLAYTON CARED A GREAT DEAL. MET HIM WHEN I WAS IN 2ND GRADE . HAD NO IDEA HE WAS A PROFESSIONAL BOXING REFEREE ALL THAT TIME. THAT CLOSE TO HISTORY AND I DIDNT KNOW. HE ADORED THE KIDS AND SHOWED THE KIDS TOO. ONE OF A KIND. AS A REF YOU WATCH EVERYTHING. HE DID JUST THAT. FAT DONNIE,SNEAKY PETE R.I.P. AND SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO THE HOOK SHOT BOYS RAM . PETE,WESLEY LANE,STEVIE TUCKER,JAY MILLS AND KEVIN BEATTY. ONLY KAREEM DID IT BETTER. I REMEMBER GOING SKATING ON THE COURTS. THE NEIGHBORHOOD NEEDS TO HAVE ACCESS AGAIN.

My experience was very scary at first because I never lived around strangers but being placed at Red Sheild was a blessing. Me and my 4 kids went there 2014, and we had our own room and we were able to lock our doors when we left out. They feed us really good and they make sure your kids have something to do after school so they won’t have to feel sad being in there. The staff was decent, one them even held a small birthday party for my oldest son, They clothed a lot of us who accept it and they save your money so you will have money once you move into your house. I read a lot of reviews but all I can say is different strokes for different folks, but I don’t know other shelter for families better than them ?

It was confident for my family. Lady staffing are nice and respectful and apologetic/empathetic.

I was homeless due to domestic situations. I went from a city in Pa to Delaware to phili. I’m pregnant and have a 4 year old girl as well. I believe it was the last week of September 2023 I was in phili. Going through a program to help me find shelter called PATH. They tried their best they did help me a great lot. They tried having the program PAD through Salvation Army help me but the woman who work at PAD are terrible people. I’m not from the city originally and I didn’t want my kid around any bad people as in drug addicts or predators. This lady named Kavia tried calling me racist because I don’t want my daughter or my pregnant self around people who are homeless due to bad choices. Because red shield is a family shelter not a woman shelter. The kicker is if I didn’t want to wait outside with the other families they threatened me with cys. Mind you I’m pregnant and no PAD people helped me carry my belongings. Adriana said I should of spoke the way she told me when I tried finding safe shelter. Absolutely disgusting the people who work for the New Day Pad Program. Do not go to Apple Tree I went for a week straight and they didn’t help me find a shelter to be safe at.
The overnight shelter I tried one time. Waited in line ahead of some regulars. They harassed me where’s my child when I went in there mind you I’m pregnant so even if I didn’t have a child who cares. They let a single man in though which is mad weird.
I’m new they told me to fill out a paper and wait in this room. Meanwhile they fed regulars and didn’t come back for me. The bald headed lady who works there had the audacity to laugh in my face. Then tried telling me I can’t wait inside there for a ride. It was warm outside anyway so I went out. She’s lucky nothing happened to us because You can’t laugh at someone and be cruel like that and except people not to jump her. That’s exactly what all of us outside wanted to do because they’re nasty people running the place.
Red Shield and PAD I don’t recommend I’m sorry ladies if you are in a situation like mine. It could also be that my daughter is half white and homeless or not I make sure she’s clean not dirty. So the baldy was jealous I guess ?

I felt very uncomfortable in this shelter, it is extremely unsanitary, the staff is rude as all hell, there are men sneaking around in women bathrooms and when u say something they just continue to play on their phones at the desk, better off staying on the street, I have a 9mo old and they did nothing to make me feel comfortable

Me and my two babies were turned down they told us to come back at 12 midnight and they would let us back in even tho it was empty in the room the homeless people normally would be sitting and it was just 5:45 pm ; I told them we had no where to go but still they made us leave and me and my children are Autistic I can’t read or write so I didn’t really understand why they were turning us away. I cried so badly and I just got a young black young lady laugh in my face and a older black man with a bush like hair tell me it’s nothing that they can do for me and my two daughters age 5&9. I have never been to jail or on any drugs I am a good mother who is in a crisis because of my horrible house fire and these people are not helping because of discrimination against my face Tatoos.

Everything I hear and read from this place is bad news. Not even bothering thank y'all for the feedback I'm a father with my wife and daughter that no one will separate.

I was told by a friend who used to work for the Salvation Army, that the staff would take stuff that people donate for themselves. She literally worked for the company she said, so she knows and that's really messed up that y'all take things for your selves, that's supposed to be for the less fortunate. Smh. SHAME on y'all. ?
