This is one of my favorite stores in the city. Anytime I have a question about a project, I’ve always found a staff member who can point me in the right direction with good advice on which products to use.

The employees at Rittenhouse Hardware are AMAZING! I have bought key copies from them and supplies to re-grout my bathroom before, and they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about supplies. Most notably, the employees of Rittenhouse Hardware helped me when I was in a dangerous situation yesterday. I was being followed for blocks by a man who would not leave me alone. After 3 attempts of him following, yelling, and getting close to me I ran away from him and ran into Rittenhouse Hardware. The staff let me stay there for safety and then one employee, Matt, walked me a few blocks to my destination. I cannot explain how grateful I am for the help of these employees. They were kind, compassionate, and helpful in a time of crisis!!

Rittenhouse Hardware is by far the quintessential neighborhood hardware store. More outstanding friendly service per square foot than three big box stores combined.

Helpful staff. Impressive selection considering the size of their space...this place has saved me from many trips in the car to Big Box stores when I realize I'm missing something mid-project. Prices are typical Center City prices and well worth it for the convenience.

Exactly what you would except at a hardware store in center city. I call it the “hipster hardware store”. It’s okay in a pinch but they don’t have much of a selection and it is VERY expensive. Good if you are in a pinch though.

Went for a coin cell battery, large selection of tools and household items, if you can't find it here you didn't look hard enough in the store, they have everything

Surprising array of hardware for a small Center City shop. Always very helpful store associates. Has saved my tuchus countless times when I needed a bit or bolt in a pinch
