Did not stay at the hotel itself but went to a conference here and they had it set up pretty well. I don’t know if I would want to be a regular guest staying here during a conference because it seemed like utter chaos all the time. Nonetheless it was nice having the bar right when you walk in. The food there is not bad, the drinks are a bit pricey but good and it’s a nice atmosphere overall. I will say one of our friends that was a guest in the hotel waited 11 minutes for an elevator, so do with that info what you will. There’s escalators for the conference section so this was avoidable most of our trip.

Beautiful hotel and most of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Only issue was kind of big though. I stayed 3 nights. The first 2 i was alone and i thought my room was very cold. I had the heat up to 75 and was still chilly. I asked friends/coworkers in other rooms and they said they thought their room temps were great and prefer a cool room so I thought it was just me. Then the last day my mother in law joined me for a fun day on the town. She remarked several times how cold the room was and we ended up crankng up the heat to 80 overnight. It was still very cold. So much so that when we got up in the morning the heat was set to 80 but i finally figured out how to check the room temp on the thermostat. 62. Well we were checking out anyway and everything else had been very nice so I decided I would just mention it at check out so they would be aware. When I did the man at reception got loud and asked if I had been there for 3 days why didnt i say something? Why didnt I call someone or ask for maintenance? I exolained I’m from Florida and i thought it was just me! I wasn’t asking for anything I was just trying to make aware. Not a great way to end an otherwise pleasant stay.

Was here in August with the family for 4 days and it was not as bad as some reviewers described. There are homeless people outside the surrounding areas of the hotel, but that didn't bother us that much as this is expected of any big city. You just have to be aware of your surroundings just as if you're on vacation in any big cities and/or tourist sites. It's in the city center so you're walking distance from the Reading terminal, Chinatown, etc. For farther sites, we just called Uber. Although the hotel lobby was noisy and filled with guests, our room on the 10th/fl was actually very quiet. PARKING: We did not plan to take our car out the entire duration of the trip so we did not want their valet parking, and instead parked about 3 blocks down at the indoor parking garage next to the Hilton Garden Inn at 1100 Arch Street. It was only $40 a day (not sure if they've increased it by the time you're reading this) and you just need to find a spot that doesn't have the "reserved parking" sign. You get a ticket as you enter, and insert that same ticket in the machine as you leave the garage and that calculates how much you need to pay. Very straightforward. Again, there are no in/out privileges and no attendants. This is best option if you don't need to take your car out until you leave.

We have stayed here a few times but this time we noticed some changes. No complimentary bottles of water in the room. And if you drive an SUV or Pickup truck parking is not $66 dollars it is $78. A $234 dollar room will be well over $350 after taxes and parking. In my opinion stay on the outskirts of Philly catch an Uber in for 20 bucks spend the day walking around. Catch an uber out and you will save like $180.

Got a handicapped accessible room.Shower stall used to have a shower bench, which was no longer attached to the wall, but the six screw holes were still visible. The water pressure in the shower was abysmal. Temperature was fine, but there was hardly any pressure at all.Fist sized hole behind the door, where someone had knocked in the door stop, and it was just never replaced.Staff at the desk were friendly, but definitely swamped and understaffed. There were two distinct conferences going on, one across the street, and one in the hotel proper. And there was only a single dude working vallet. Massive wait times and delays.Room was clean, bed was fine, plenty of room and grab bars for getting around and transferring in and out of a wheelchair. The sheer convenience of the skybridge connecting the hotel to the convention center completely overruled any misgivings I had previously. I have been spit on, harassed, and followed several times while walking back to a different hotel at night, from the convention center. The skybridge eliminates all that.

Decrepit and low-quality everything. Prison-like rooms. Mid-conference the ceiling began to drip on a presenter. 12.99 for internet access and it is still slow. Elevators basically don't run--5/6 just won't. There are several better, cheaper hotels within a block.

Rooms weren't ready on time. Caused me to miss an important meeting because of delays in check-in. Not staying at another Marriott again if I can help it.Rooms: Rooms were not ready on time.

I am a big fan of Marriott brand hotels and usually stay at a Marriott when I travel for work or vacation. I have elite status. This hotel fell short of service, although the hotel is nice and I eventually got a corner room that is very quiet.I checked in online prior to arrival and indicated a 2pm check in. When I got the hotel, I asked for a room away from the elevator and they told me there was not one ready yet so check back, Over the next 2.5 hours I checked three times to see if they had a room and was told no. I finally asked to speak to a manager because the wait was ridiculous and how hard can it be to give me a room away from an elevator? The manager did a few strokes on her keyboard and like magic, I had a room. So I guess I had a bad front desk agent. Once I was in my room and unpacked, I got a text that was my room was ready and I could go to the front desk to get my key. So something is screwy. The room is nice and quiet. The windows must be thin, however, because I feel cold air coming in, so I have to crank up the heat or else the room is cold. The location is great and across the street from the Reading Terminal Market.I like Marriott, but I can't get past how I was not given a room for 2.5 hours for apparently no reason. Hence, 3 stars.

Been in Marriotts all over the U.S. This is one of the dumpier ones. Room needs some updates. Only a small lobby bar that is incredibly loud and slow. Lucky if you can get a seat. Blocker on the shower water handle ensures your shower is cold to barely luke warm. Good location, but you can find nicer places close by.

We stayed in the Marriott while in the city for the Marathon. The hotel was great. Check-in was a bit of a chore, but to be expected with the volume of people checking in, not unexpected.I'm only going to comment on the amenities we used. They have a nice little convince store in the lobby with drinks, snacks, desserts, and hot food. The gym is top-notch with plenty of weight training and cardio equipment and an absolutely awesome Soda Stream water station.Room service was quick and good. All around, we had a great experience.

Full service huge Marriott downtown. Rooms are good sized but dated, shower was tight for me being a larger person. We had several alarms at night which was frustrating and loud. We ate at the restaurant one evening which was standard fare. We had nightcaps at the bar which was very good and not too expensive. Valet parking is expensive but worth it. Neighborhood has a lot of homeless folks around but nobody bothered us when we were out. Breakfast next-door at Reading Market is recommended.

A beautiful place. I didn't like that the alarm went off on Saturday and again on Sunday waking us up. Also, our key would not work because the battery died in the door handle, and we sat outside of our room for over an hour for someone to come up and fix it. We stayed on the 16th floor!! To top it off, I wasn't feeling well and had to sit on the floor by our door. However, our stay in Philadelphia was wonderfulRooms: Very nice rooms, blackout curtains, beautiful bathroom, comfortable shower and bedNearby activities: Reading Terminal Market right across the street.....lots of food places insideWalkability: There are lots of stores to walk too and the mall is not too far to walk to as wellFood & drinks: Delicious food, drinks and snacks near by

Big room with everything that you need for a nice stay, the pool at the 7 floor is nice but I didn’t like the gym. The position of some gym instruments make them impossible to use, like the machine with pull-up handles that is positioned attached to a light. I would suggest it for short

The place is pretty basic and seems old and dirty. Service was variable; some people were polite, others were apathetic. They have a bartender (Dana) who not only has a nasty attitude, but is blatantly disrespectful and rude to custumers. I feel sorry for her. She does come across as a particularly miserable worker. The room are not the cleanest, though the housekeeping services are daily so that helps. The hotel is very expensive; you're mainly paying for location.

Well, the rooms need attention. Attention to details. Too many hairs all over the bathroom, the floors. It’s really gross. No one wants to see little black pubic hairs in a ‘freshly cleaned’ room. It’s awful. Makes you wonder what else is still dirty. Also had a lot of stains on the carpet not as bad as some other hotels I’ve stayed in but still stains were bad.Anyway, I was moved from one room to another room because my first room had plumbing issues. And the water pressure was absolutely disgraceful. I don’t think there was enough water to rinse soap out of anything or anyone coming out of that shower. So I asked for a new room and the plumber who I might add was a lady and she was extremely helpful. Very kind. Very helpful, she helped me secure another room in the building although I do have to say that the water pressure was not much better in any of the other rooms. But still her service and her attention to detail is commendable. If only the cleaning people were as attentive to such details. The people at the front desk were very accommodating and helpful, as well as the security guards and the valet service. The people that work at this hotel were caring and kind but when you see dirt and hair in a room or a bathroom that’s supposed to be clean it does not make you feel good.I would like to give a special shout out to a wonderful lady, she was working in the pantry, and she told me she was traveling as a manager for Marriott, and was in Philadelphia to help the hotel that weekend. She was the most kind person I have ever met at a hotel anywhere. Huge respect for her, her name was Kaay.Kaay deserves a raise… she noticed everything. She was absolutely amazing. She is caring, kind, and compassionate!! I will never forget her kindness. Thank you Kaay!!!Rooms: DirtyWalkability: Connected to convention centerFood & drinks: Breakfast buffet at hotel was averageNoteworthy details: Across the street from Reading Terminal Market.
