Dr. Carol Lou is very intuitive and really made me feel felt, seen, heard and safe.
My previous doctors:
1.) Dr. Silverman
2.) Dr. Weiss
3.) Dr. Renzi ...
..these doctors misdiagnosed me. None of my previous doctors practice Osteopathics!!
It was such a relief for me to find Dr. Carol Lou, to work with a doctor that incorporates more holistic/integrative methodologies. Dr. Renzi wouldn't even look me in the eyes somedays, but was comfortable upping my doses on pharmaceuticals that were treating a misdiagnoses in the first place..
Dr. Carol Lou also provides Medicinal Cannabis cards for Philadelphians, but that requires out-of-pocket cash purchase (not covered by insurance).
Dr. Renzi does not provide Medicinal Cannabis cards..
Cannabis helps me connect with nature and handle my PTSD, Panic Disorder, Depression and ADHD (although I'm hoping Dr. Carol Lou or one of her linked psychiatrist colleagues can ALSO put me on Adderall for my ADHD).
I am working at Facebook and I need to handle my ADHD better to improve my work life balance.
Overall, Dr. Carol Lou allows me to have more of a say and a participatory experience. Most other doctors are very controlling and rarely listen to their patients' needs. Osteopathics are so crucial, and Dr. Carol Lou can provide that advanced knowledge.
Go to Dr. Carol Lou!! She's brilliant!!

I recently visited Penrock Primary Care with the expectation of receiving attentive and compassionate healthcare, especially in dealing with my Ehlers Danlos syndrome and chronic pain. Unfortunately, my experience was notably disappointing. The examination felt rushed and perfunctory, lacking in the thoroughness I anticipated. Furthermore, I encountered significant delays in communication regarding my ADHD medication - a critical aspect of my daily functionality. This, compounded with the fact that I didn’t see the main doctor as expected, left me feeling disregarded and undervalued as a patient. The approach towards my pain management concerns unfortunately gave me the impression of being viewed as a pill-seeking individual, rather than a person seeking genuine medical support. The lack of any follow-up from the clinic only reinforces my decision not to return. I advise those with chronic pain or in need of urgent care to consider other healthcare providers who might offer a more supportive and understanding environment.

After calling everywhere to make an appointment and couldn’t get an appointment for months out. I called this place and I was able to make an appointment within the same week. I didn’t have to wait in the waiting room long and overall had a pleasant experience.

I switched primary care physicians, because the place I went to before came too hard to make an appointment. The positive thing I can say about this place is it’s very easy to make an appointment, I’ve always been able to get an appointment within a few days or less than a week. Customer service is fantastic, they don’t keep you on hold for long, or at all, and their pleasant to speak too, and always helpful. The issue I have (which will now have me leave) is the last appointment I had, the doctor was very rude to me, her attitude felt dismissive, and condescending, that I felt too uncomfortable to ask anymore questions about my condition and what I could do. She seemed annoyed, and didn’t care. When I thought about it, I never experienced anything like that from a place I went to prior, for about nine years. To be a doctor, It seems absolutely inexcusable to me to be rude like that with a patient. I want back inside immediately, and asked the front desk to speak to the doctor, I told her how I felt about the session, her attitude didn’t change, so that made me decide to leave. I can’t see a doctor, that’s going to have a rude attitude like that. I have struggled with pain in my feet and ankles for over two years now. I haven’t been able to run or exercise anymore, actively been doing physical therapy and everything, and it hasn’t gotten better, it’s hard and emotional sometimes. You go to a doctor for different things going on that’s unsettling, you don’t want to see a doctor that’s going to be dismissive and rude with you and your condition.

I had high hopes for this office after reading positive reviews and completing their extensive intake form online. Unfortunately, any concern for me and my pain both started and ended with this form. My provider spent most of the appointment insinuating that I had an eating disorder or something because I am naturally skinny. She seemed to care significantly more about my childhood than she did about my pain or symptoms. She was extremely cold and dismissive towards my chronic pain, belittling my response on the previously mentioned form where I said most days I come home from work and am left crying from pain. The only thing she did for me was give me a referral sheet of specialists that, upon calling every single person on the list, I discovered none of them treat or accept patients with my condition. I called back to tell the office this and while the receptionist was very nice, she told me she would call me back with other providers to try and she never did. I felt like this appointment was a giant waste of time, as all it did was make me feel worse about myself. To top it off, even when I told her about my previous and long-standing diagnosis, she didn’t chart this or take me seriously in the slightest. People with chronic pain, look elsewhere if you actually want help or to be taken seriously by your PCP. This office may seriously want to consider giving their providers some sensitivity training or encouraging them to develop a halfway decent bedside manor.

I had a terrible experience with this office. They gave me medicine that made me even more sick. Once they made me sit in the office for over an hour and then cancelled on me and sent me home. Monika Van Sant is the only decent doctor here and multiple times they tried to trick me into seeing the NPs instead. One of the NPs really freaked me out and made me think I had a serious condition. I got other doctor's opinions who suggested I never go back here.

Ive been a patient here for a few months, getting an appointment was easy. Ive been seen on time and have had no billing issues or problems getting test results. CRNP Taylor is very friendly and easy to talk to. I had almost no wait times in the waiting room or exam room.

The best doctors/nurse practitioners that I have found in the Queens Village /South Philadelphia area are the practitioners at Penn's Rock located at 801 Washington Ave., Philadelphia 19147 .They are nonsense - on point and yet compassionate and knowledgeable and if the issue is more exotic they have the rapport with the various experts in and around the city.I get an appointment right in to see the doctor -we do our business and I'm out and the advice and medicine are flawless. If there are options they give you the options and you the patient decides without any argument. That's what doctors are there simply laying out the options for you providing the advice with the up to date medicine. If you're in South Philly or the Center City area go to Penns Rock.Boom
