Love this neighborhood store. Friendly service and lots of fun finds and greeting cards. Only thing I wish they carried more gifts for men.

Lovely shop owned by Barnes and Noble but a really fantastic selection and the staff are so helpful. I was buying stationary to do my wedding g thank you cards and miscounted envelopes and the cashier caught it for me while I was checking out. Can’t wait to go back!

Poor and rude customer service at the Walnut street location in Philadelphia . I don’t know their name but on Friday, July 19, I went in and asked for help, the person that attended to me was nice but the person at the counter was extremely rude to me and was so abrupt with responses. For a description they had long brunette hair and bad nails. Completely put me off. I hope they invest in their customer service training going forward.

Paper source is my go to for gifts, the space has a lot to offer and always looks lovely- I’ve been shopping here for 7 years. Today I was disappointed in my experience however. I was browsing calendars and fell in love with one, I was interested in buying the last two but continued to look around in the immediate area. A few moments later I heard a supervisor mention to their employee that multiple sets of calendars could not be sold. She advised the employee to rip up the calendars and thrown them all in the trash. I went over a few moments later to try and purchase the calendars that I saw earlier, as they were still on display, but regretfully staff refused purchase. I understand it’s completely their right to destroy and throw out product as they see fit- it’s very common practice in retail stores. I am just a bit surprised that Paper Source would still rather trash their products then sell them to someone in store, willing to buy them and make a sale. It made me wonder about how much else they could be potentially just throwing away rather than selling through or even simply donating. I’d love to see a Green Initiative from Paper Source- maybe a discount bin of products or a program where you donate your unsold goods rather than intentionally trashing them. I would shop here even more if I knew Paper Source had an initiative to reduce their waste.

Do not waste your time. Went in to buy a journal,I had to ask where they are located? No one offered to assist me, instead they just pointed out the location while on their phones.

I am a stationary connoisseur. I have even considered starting a line of greeting cards or opening a paper boutique. The experience of going into a card/gift shop is unique to me. I can spend hours looking at cards, and at my home, I have a whole drawer dedicated to boxes of thank you cards, just because cards, spare birthday cards, blank cards, and letter-writing stationary. That said, I was very sad to have my card-shopping experience ruined on the evening 11/17/23.I've never felt particularly welcomed walking into this particular location of the Paper Source, but last Friday was the worst. Still, I had just purchased a gift at Kitchen Kapers and needed to get a card quickly. It's right around the corner, so I popped in. Two store associates looked at me and did not say hello or acknowledge me walking into the store. I searched for the birthday card and a housewarming card, which I could not find, so I asked for help. The woman who helped me was nice, but as I approached the register, I saw a woman walk into a warm welcome from the woman standing behind the register. She was with a customer, but she stopped what she was doing to great this white woman, and I, a black woman, got no attention upon entering the store. When I got to the register, I asked, "Where was my warm welcome?" jokingly. The woman became very defensive and said, "I don't know, maybe I was with a customer or busy (she wasn't), but someone should have greeted you." I told her I was messing around with her because she was visibly uncomfortable, and I wanted to diffuse some of the stress from the moment. She spoke to me very condescendingly about my membership status and me and then didn't even say goodbye or happy holidays or anything. That made me feel like I'd never return to that Paper Source again. I should have just gone to Urban or Barnes and Noble... next time, I will. They had a terrible selection of new home cards anyway.
