I’m so glad my friend recommended this museum. It’s a few blocks from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. We bought tickets when we arrived (no wait). There is a coat room that is nice on rainy days.Right when we walked in there was a group learning how to assemble a replica of George Washington’s camp bed. The employees are all so knowledgeable and friendly. It’s great to have people that get you as interested in history as they are.The Washington’s tent exhibit is really interesting. The museum is well laid out with a good mix of short movies and exhibits. I love all the interactive things I assume targeted for kids. Great way to keep kids entertained and into history. The guy that talks about the weapons is so knowledgeable and fun.I learned quite a bit and enjoyed my visit.

Get 2 dollars off by buying your tickets online.Very cool experience. The highlight is George Washington tent, which had a very cool history. They have the tent itself on the second level and you get to see it after a short video. My only suggestion, and reason for 1 star off, is that there is a very specific route you should follow to enjoy things chronologically. The are not good signs to point you in the right directions.I heard other people complaining about this as well. When the story we were enjoying became a story about a free American country that got taken over by Briton...I knew we were going the wrong way...

My, wheelchair bound wife and i visited, 3/6, it was a rainy day but we made the best of it. Parking was relatively close for the museums location, though a brolly might have been a wise move. Finding the entrance was a slight challenge given our age and weather conditions, but once found access was simple. The staff were courteous and very informative. The audio tour, my wife sampled was informative if somewhat "dull". We were able to navigate the wonderful displays and diorama effortlessly. We purchased the obligatory gifts for our 3 grandchildren, thoroughly appreciated by them all, for a very reasonable price for a quality museum. Highly recommended, well done.

My wife and I visited on a recent Thursday at about 10:00 a.m. The museum was so full of school groups that we finally gave up and left. When one group would leave an exhibit the next would come in right behind them, so there was no break. They all had a tour guide and the guides were really loud. When we arrived several employees informed us it was a two day pass and that we could come back later in the day. Unfortunately, I did not put the clues together (they knew). They were, however, happy to take my $50.My recommendation; don't even think of visiting this museum, unless you arrive at about 2:00 or 3:00 in the evening, during the school season.

I visited the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia and I was impressed by the dramatic, surprising story of the American Revolution through its unmatched collection of Revolutionary-era weapons, personal items, documents, and works of art. The museum has immersive galleries, powerful theater experiences, and interactive digital elements that bring to life the diverse array of people that created a new nation against incredible odds. I gained a deeper appreciation for how this nation came to be and felt inspired to consider my role in the ongoing promise of the American Revolution. The museum is located just steps away from Independence Hall, which makes it a great portal to the region’s many Revolutionary sites. I highly recommend this museum to anyone who wants to learn more about the history and culture of America. It is a must-see attraction in Philadelphia.

Worth every penny. Incredibly enjoyable museum, seeing the tent was impressive and starting the whole visit with an orientation film made the whole museum and the timeline of events very accessible

What kind of trash leadership thought that hosting a hate group like Moms for Liberty was a good idea? You’re destroying the legitimacy of your institution.

Amazing experience. Located right in the historic district just two blocks from Independence Hall, this museum is a must see. As a mom, I appreciated the completely interactive experience. So many items had "please touch" signs or interactive components. There was a scavenger hunt with an item in most rooms, giving us something to focus on with my 7-year old without being overwhelmed. As a history teacher with a history buff husband, I appreciated the amount of history covered. The museum basically starts at the French and Indian War and walks you chronologically through the Revolution with each area having a clearly defined focus. Enslaved, Black, Native, and women's voices on both sides are taken into account throughout. Great experience and a great compliment to the free experiences at Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.

The Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, stands as a commendable testament to historical preservation and education. For anyone with an interest in America's founding, this museum provides a compelling and educational experience, making it a must-visit destination in the heart of Philadelphia.

I went to this place on an out of state trip, and it was unexpectedly fun. My tour guide was quite interactive and would let us find things out ourselves instead of telling us the information straight up. Both exhibits of focus were interesting and the Black Founders one was a great insight on rich black people in the 18th century. Really nice place!

I'm not much of a war buff or historian, but I loved this museum! I took my friend down because he's very interested in the American Revolution, and I expected him to enjoy it more than I did, but both of us ended up raving about the experience together when we left. It was so interactive and nicely put together. Plus, I love how accessible it is! Seeing George Washingtons tent was our favorite part. The production value that went into it was just amazing. Even if you aren't that interested in history, I would recommend this museum! It really immerses you and gives you a lot of interesting information in engaging ways.
