I can't help but think all the positive reviews were written by people paid to write them or individuals with little to no standards for hotel stays. There was nothing redeeming about this place, aside perhaps from the chipper staff and the location. However, with respect to the actual property there's a stark difference between historic and just plain old. The furniture was dated and lacking any aesthetic cohesion or consideration, the bathroom was rudimentary and uninviting at best, the sofa bed lumpy enough to require chiropractic adjustment in the morning,...the list goes on and on. My recommendation is to find other accommodations. Oh, and I forgot that you'd be better off boiling water for your shower rather than waiting for the shower to warm up, unless you have a lot of extra time on your hands and the complimentary plastic "baggie" of ice? Yikes!

Excellent! Historic, nostalgic bed and breakfast in downtown Philadelphia. Jim and Jerry were excellent hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable. Highly recommended

We liked it so much we stayed an extra day! The location is great. Julio the Inn keeper is absolutely lovely, the rooms are really nice and the bar/restaurant is great. We hope to be back soon!

A beautifully maintained and managed historic building. Cozy rooms, thoughtful staff, and a delicious continental breakfast. The staff are not just great at hospitality, they can answer any question you have about the history of the building and surrounding area. An incredible experience!

We stayed here twice recently for procedures at Pennsylvania Hospital. That staff could not have been kinder and more helpful. We had an extended suite on the first floor, the room was modern yet traditional the shower was wonderful the bed comfortable, and the furnishings beautifully antique the Wi-Fi worked brilliantly. We had a large television on microwave and the stove top. It was close to the hospital and to the historical sites. The common areas were just beautiful and the breakfast was satisfying I highly recommend.

Came here for an intimate dinner after just getting engaged and it was perfect! The service, drinks, and food were all top-notch. They even supplied us with a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate the occasion. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

I'm being extremely picky here. The place is awesome. We stayed in the President suite. Has a full kitchen living room, spiral staircase to the huge loft bedroom. Here's the picky part. No ICE. I could have brought 5 friends over and cooked them a full meal in our room and then let them enjoy hot coco on the balcony that overlooked the garden. You know what the conversation of the night would have been? Meal would have been a lot better if there was ICE. There is no ice dispenser and you always need to ask the staff who has to get it for you. Even in a room with a full size fridge none zero nonearoni! Truly tragic!

Great find! We extended our first stay, booked a second and third trip. Price point is excellent. Great location. Comfortable rooms and suites. Very quiet! Never heard other guests. Guest management is very accommodating and friendly. The new restaurant is also excellent! We will be back. We feel at home here.
