A venerable shop in Old City. The proprietor greets you on the way in. Lots of vintage, especially bar ware of all kinds. Miles Davis plays in the background providing an authentic vibe amidst 40's, 50's and 60's martini glasses and drink shakers. Even if you are not a buyer, you'll enjoy the visit.

this vintage shop is pretty special. the owner is excessively knowledgeable about the pieces collected and displayed, so you can get a good grasp on your purchases and their history. i found the prices to be reasonable and the experience of shopping there / speaking with the owner was invaluable.

I was visiting Philly for the the first time and happened to be exploring the area. I appreciate these sorts of antique stores with a variety of unique, artistic items- everything from jewelry to furniture and odd items from days past and present. The older couple who own this store are quiet and friendly but give you the time to browse around without hovering. They were open to answering any questions I might have had also. I contemplated if I had a space for some things in my house if any. Lots caught my eye, and I could appreciate the character throughout the store. I zoned in on this dainty, cool glass wall planter and decided to pick it up comparing it to another- both similar the same shape but different painted designs. I imagined the wall space for it and decided it would be perfect for a rooting Pothos plant! It was small enough to carry on the plane also. If I fancied anything else, I would have found a way to get it back to California. I l later discovered it's a blown glass piece by Jason Probstein. I'm delighted to discover there are galleries with his artwork here in California also! If you're wandering around the Old City area of Philadelphia, this is a gem of a store to browse. You might find something you like! There's so much character in here!

First time coming into the shop!! The couple who own & run the place are super friendly and love to talk about all the items available. The specialty is bar/drink ware. I didn't purchase anything, but I definitely enjoyed browsing around!

We walked through the whole space without a single "can I help you", the products are most certainly not "more-than-old", this is a glorified gift shop. Goodwill finds at vintage store prices, but I suppose what else can be expected nearby some of the most expensive vintage shops in Philadelphia. The curation in this one is lacking.

Really cute shop with lots of eclectic items. Very nice proprietors and a very attentive chat de maison. Makes shopping locally really pleasant.

Wondering throughout Old City l come across this antique store. A variety of modern American hand made products and crafts, antique furniture, vintage glasses, jewelry and more. Beth Gibson, the lovely principal of the store, was so happy to walk me through the store , and tell me some of the stories of her selection of artistic hand-blown glasses by local crafters. She was very knowledgeable and super friendly. Really, very proud of her treasures! Most of the collection the store have is from visiting local/regional craft shows like Baltimore american craft council show and American Craft Retailers Expo in Philadelphia, from estate sale or simply from anyone who has something unique to offer. Products from some talented artists that are new to the business and not established enough to get large orders, can also be found at More Than Old. Very Lovely store! Four Yelps!

Now, this place was fun! I discovered More Than Old with a friend over the last First Friday and had a fabulous time! It was obvious from the front window display that this was an antique/vintage/tchotchke store with lots of barware, but there turned out to be so much more inside, some things I didn't even know existed! Do you like sculptures of glass cats? There's a lot to choose from here, and I really enjoyed seeing so many in one place. What about some really cool framed maps of old Philly? They are quietly hanging on the wall across from the impressive ceramic owl collection. I bet you've never thought about a stainless steel magnetic salt and pepper shaker set shaped like two elbow macaronis that can be morphed in to different shapes, made in Germany? You know, for those who fidget at the table (I actually almost bought this). Really, there is a lot to look at here, so First Friday is a great time to pop in, have a glass of wine, and poke around. The store shop owners are really sweet and seem to enjoy talking about the items in their collection, so don't be shy about asking questions. I will be stopping in again and again and again!

This is such a wonderful store! The owner has lovely taste and the store is filled with a variety of furniture and decorative objects. Of particular note is the collection of glassware, which boasts everything from wine glasses made by contemporary artists, to retro martini glasses. And the owner is really wonderful; she has an extensive knowledge of the artists she represents, and knows a good deal about all of the pieces. She is more than happy to share the stories behind them. If you are lucky, you will probably catch their friendly cat, Newbie, as well. More Than Old is definitely not to be missed if you are browsing Old City!

We moved to Philadelphia in January 2010 and More than Old was the first quaint shop that we checked out in our new neighborhood of Old City. The owners are lovely people and the shop is filled with sparkling cocktail glasses & shakers, as well as a nice selection of vintage art glass and decorative items. We recently picked up a Russel Wright celery dish to add to our collection. We also sold More Than Old a large set of vintage cocktail glasses and delicate smoked glass drinkware. They paid a very fair price and were great to deal with. I highly recommend checking them out. Good people. Good taste. Fair prices. Cheers!
