Mass fitness is one of the only places I will miss now that I am leaving philadelphia. No gym I have ever been to had the variety of equipment this gym has. The gym fosters a sense of community that commercial gyms wish they could have. The owner steve and his employ of trainers are energetic, knowledgeable and friendly. I will miss this place

Fantastic place! I was in town for a conference, and MASS fit was a home away from home. The owner, Steve, was super helpful, accommodating, and responsive. If you are looking for a place to workout in Philly, this is the spot!

One of the best gyms I’ve ever been to. I’ve never gone to a gym where I felt like the staff was interested or invested in me as a person and supported my goals. Steve, the owner, is an incredible guy and all of the trainers are super helpful and kind. The community in the gym is very welcoming, it truly feels like a second home. Not to mention it has amazing equipment. Steve makes it a point that his customers get the absolute best in equipment, support, and camaraderie.

I started working with Stephen since June 2022 after two rounds of spinal injections. With his guidance, I now am confident with working out again. He has been more helpful than some of the physical therapists that I worked with. Highly recommend.

24/7 gym. Wide variety of stuff but more powerlifting-focused. Bumper plates, steel plates, 5+ squat racks, 2+ deadlift platforms, reverse hyper, competition bench, etc. Small selection of machines. A lot of older equipment but some new stuff too.

This place is awesome. I have visited and lived in multiple states and joined / popped into a lot of gyms. This one is unique in the best way. It has everything you need, things you just want for fun, and without the big cookie cutter gym atmosphere. The gym is a personal training gym that also takes memberships. The trainers are welcoming even if you're not working with them. It has a cool layout. The owner is rad. And it's open 24/7 so you don't have to worry about holidays or closures. Do yourself a favor, just go in there and check it out.

MassFIT is far and away the greatest gym experience in Philadelphia. If you are at all serious about training, MassFIT should be your mecca. If you are in the area and still punishing yourself with a corporate gym experience - just stop. I mean unless you are into the whole masochism thing.I joined a week after I moved in down the street about 2.5 years ago, and it's become my second home. It remains the primary reason I keep re-signing my lease and living in the neighborhood. The occasionally smelly horse stall mats are sacred ground to me, and it's evident by how well maintained this place is that many feel the same. Running an independent gym is hard as hell and the only way it works is through the absolute blood sweat and toil that Steve (the owner) has put into the place over the years.MassFIT is absolutely stocked with specialty equipment and laid out for very efficient training. 6 full racks, Alan Thrall inspired DIY deadlift platforms, and a full 500kg set of Rogue calibrated kilo plates make this the perfect place to pursue serious powerlifting numbers. For the (noble) hypertrophy enthusiasts you've got every possible type of specialty bar, cable attachment, dip belt, and enough mirrors to stare at when curling in the squat rack. For the Olympic weightlifter there are plenty of platforms, pads, and bumper plates to toss around and make everyone around you reevaluate their life choices.I wouldn’t know anything about it because I have never done dedicated cardio in my life but there are also a whole bunch of what I think are called “treadmills”? Along with an assault bike, rowers, and a few punching bags to live out your inner Steven Seagal power fantasies.MassFIT just has good energy. From the trainers to the members everyone has a very positive, encouraging, and unpretentious attitude. I personally approach the gym and my training as a way to disassociate from the world and focus on my internal war against the iron. That said, it's always nice to say hi to all the people who I've never learned their names but see more regularly than all my friends and family. My favorite is when Steve (MassFIT owner, not Seagal) greets you with a friendly "hey how's it going" and I respond with "you too!" and then I cringe endlessly at the thought of that encounter every night for a week.Anyway, all of that is to say this place is fantastic. If you are just visiting, skip the liberty bell and get a MassFIT day pass. If you live in the area and have any serious goals related to fitness and self improvement - this is the place. 24/7 access is easy and accommodates any schedule. It definitely gets busy at peak hours but for the most part outside of like 10am and 6pm midweek you are never waiting for equipment.Training is a life long pursuit and I am sure I will one day move away but while I have been here in the city this gym has defined my life and I will be forever grateful for its existence. The gym itself won't build your physique - that’s on you push yourself past your limits, but MassFIT alleviates all the friction to building disciplined healthy habits that will allow you to give your best effort, unencumbered, every time you train. Steve, the members, and trainers all make MassFIT a near perfect establishment and I can't recommend it enough.

!! Please read !! MASS F.I.T. Changed My Life - Helped me lose 120(!!!) pounds. When I first moved to Philly I was 340 pounds, recovering from a fractured knee bone and deprived of willpower and energy, but starving for motivation.I remember my first visit - I had checked numerous other gyms throughout the city but none seemed to be a good fit. They were elitist, and saw only an overweight fellow with a wallet, not someone who needed help.My first visit to Mass F.I.T. was the last gym I was visiting. I was almost absent of hope. That all changed when the owner himself, Steve, came to greet me. With a smile on his face and a warm persona he gave me a tour, asked about my goals, and how he could help. I knew I had found the gym for me.Thanks to the gym being open 24 hours, I could decide when I wanted to visit, regardless of holidays or my work schedule. The trainers and owner, Steve, are friendly and outgoing, even willing to offer advice to those not under their tutelage. Now, near 2 years since joining, I’m down 130 pounds, yes you read that right. And I’m happy to say Mass F.I.T. Is a prime reason for my new outlook on life and physical fitness.A lot of gyms claim to be a ‘family’. As someone who bounced around many commercial gyms and facilities, I can say that only Mass F.I.T. is a true community (and verging on a second family). I can assure you that upon joining you will find a gym full of the best equipment, a vast knowledge base, and every tool at your disposal to achieve your goals. Whether you’re just looking to exercise, or bodybuild, become a power lifter, practice Olympic lifts, or train for a marathon, you will find exactly what you need. It’s affordable and friendly, available whenever you need it.I can not recommend this gym highly enough. Stop in and say hello! You will not regret it!!

After battling through some injuries and pain, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to get stronger and looked for a gym/trainer near me. I found MASS FIT and am so incredibly happy I did. The gym is nice, clean, and has everything you would need. What makes this gym stand out is the owner, Steve. He is a great guy who really cares about his business and giving clients his best. I have never been to a gym like this before or had a gym experience like this that felt so personalized and welcoming with a unique philosophy engrained into truly getting clients healthy and strong. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a gym and/or trainer.

Steve has cultivated a great atmosphere where anyone can feel welcome, regardless of their training history or modality. The space is the best you'll find in the city for a full range of training experiences and the 24 hour access is incredibly useful for anyone who's got strange hours. The people there are respectful and supportive and everyone takes care of the place to make sure it maintains a communal, everyone's here getting better atmosphere.

This place is AWESOME!!! The people and the community here at this gym were extremely friendly and welcoming. There was no point during my workout where I felt uncomfortable or out of place. Everyone was supportive and encouraging and I want to give a big shout out to Carlisle & Clayton (hope I spelled your names right) for helping me learn how to use the Earthquake bar and correct my form on the sled push. Will definitely be back here again next time I am in town!

Mass F.I.T. is a fantastic gym. The facilities are excellent, and all the equipment is always in good working order. What sets this place apart though, is the owner. Steve makes you feel like you are part of a community as opposed to a customer. The customer service is exemplary, even when you need to temporarily pause or even cancel a membership. You can find a gym anywhere, but a gym like Mass F.I.T. that is also an open, welcoming community is a true rarity.
