I spent $2000 on a ruby and diamond pendant and the gentleman told me to come back if my wife wants the chain longer. She wore it once or twice and I never went back to get the chain lengthened as I no longer worked in the city due to COVID. We went back to work this spring and I figure I can get him to make good on his word. Then after spending $2k he tries to chisel me for another $40 for an extension that he promised he would do as a courtesy if we needed to make an adjustment to the chain length. I can get a $40 extension anywhere. Then he gets nasty and belligerent with me. Not a good move John. Sorry John. Your loss, not mine. Maybe you can learn something about how to deal more courteously with your customers. I will gladly take my business elsewhere.

TLDR: I would highly recommend John!! I was a very particular customer who went to John with a lot of different ideas for a very unique custom art deco style engagement ring. He really listened, and talked through all of them with me!! I went to jewelers in the Italian Market, Center City and all along Jewelers Row and John was easily the best and at the best price!!!He shared his ideas based off of the criteria that I had wanted. I then decided to go with something completely different which he was very gracious about. John then gave me a couple of different ideas for design based off of this ring that I had seen online, I then asked for something that was a slightly different modification that I knew was going to be difficult based off dimensions of what I wanted, etc. We both knew this design would probably not work/most like there would be problems because the very specific and unique modification that I had asked for, but he still went ahead and tried to make it work anyway. When it inevitably couldn’t be done, he made suggestions for modifications that I hadn’t even considered that still maintained all of the unique features that I wanted in the ring. He did all of this, AND was honest and transparent in his pricing. After his already great price, he had still managed to come in under price without sacrificing ANY quality. He could have easily found ways to upcharge AND make the ring more similar to basic/easy to do designs that I had seen everywhere online (which all of his competitors tried to do), but he didn’t. The one thing I had messed up was I had told him the wrong size for the ring, it was just slightly too big which is obviously not John’s fault…John of course had told me to come back with any problems that I might have for the ring, and I was going to except my fiancé refuses to take off the ring because she loves it so much. John truly cares about creating a customer first business and it really shows in every aspect. This review would be nothing if I also didn’t shout out his trusted assistant Moses who is the absolute best and a complete professional.

John is a very talented and knowledgeable jeweler and designer. He will educate you on the jewelry and work with you. We got both our engagement ring and wedding bands from John. Can’t recommend him highly enough!

I brought a diamond to John, and he created the perfect ring by working with me closely during the design process and providing advice. His attention to detail and patience makes the process of finalizing a ring very smooth. I even went back to him for wedding bands which turned out stunning. He was easy to communicate with and worked hard to meet my timelines. I highly recommend Marchi Jewelers to anyone looking for a honest and detail-oriented jeweler.

John is incredible! He created my engagement ring and now our wedding bands. The minute we met him we knew he was the jewler for us. He is funny, patient, accommodating and a fantastic artist. John delt with my indecision and back and forth emails with grace. We agree that he is now our “family jewler” and we will continue to go to him for anything we need.

I can't gush enough about Marchi. John (Marchiafava) is just a wonderful craftsman and a businessman completely disinterested in the hard sell. He'll ask you what you want and what you want to pay, and instead of pushing you to something close or just more expensive, he'll work to get you the exact stone you're looking for and then create a custom setting for you. Also, his dog Moses is a Philadelphia treasure and sleeps in the window when he's not hanging out with customers.I got my now-wife's engagement ring here, and she adores it. I told John the kind of diamond she wanted, and the size I thought would look good, and he told me flatly, "I can get it wholesale, but it's not in the budget you gave me." And he worked every design angle he could to slowly get me something almost exactly like I'd requested for just a little over the budget I came in with, then set it in this gorgeous ring that was a riff on one of his personal designs I saw in the store. It was incredible. I'll be going back for anniversaries for many years to come.

John is incredibly talented and we could not have asked for a better jeweler. He and I designed my engagement ring and wedding band set all over email during the height of covid (my fiance did pick out the stone in person). John was not a pushy salesman and gave us realistic thoughts/advice. Highly recommend!

We went to a few jeweler’s to have my deceased father’s drum cymbal incorporated into a wedding band. John was the most personable and collaborative off all of them. Not only did he come up with a design we loved, he found the perfect outfit to work with the cymbal material, which is uncommon in jewelry. My family loved it so I’m thinking of more pieces that John can make! I highly recommend Marchi Jewelers!

John helped me put together an engagement ring recently. Recommended by my brother (John helped him with his engagement ring too), I knew I was in good hands. I wasn't very educated on diamonds or how to go about getting the right one for this specific occasion but John was very informative and patient with me. He really cared about how the ring was going to turn out and took the extra time to make sure I had the RIGHT one and it worked. John instantly became my go-to jeweler moving forward!!

John is not this way. He truly cares about his customers needs above all else. He is as kind, caring and genuine as they come - a rare breed.By no means though do i want to under shadow is incredible talent. The engagement ring John designed for Jenna is nothing short of spectacular. John used a family heirloom diamond to create the ring of Jenna's dreams.
