I'm not sure what kind of training is provided to LoanDepot customer support representatives, but so far it has given me a very negative first impression with the company. From setting up the online account, making the initial payment, setting up recurring payments, and questions about escrow requirements; each of these items has taken multiple phone calls. During each phone call I get completely different information from the prior call. While the representatives are friendly, I get the feeling that no one knows what they are doing. So far LoadDepot deducted the first payment twice within one week (and won't send it back), given me different information about whether auto-deductions are setup properly, double paid my insurance policy, and I can't get a straight answer on removing the escrow requirement for insurance. If the first 60 days are an indication of how the next 15 years will go, I'm going to need to refinance again just to get away from LoanDepot.

The folks at Loandepot were really great to deal with and communication was timely. We really had no complaints except that since we had 4 names on the mortgage, one of the names was spelled incorrectly, one of the other loans we had was misidentified just before closing and took quite a bit of time to fix. However closing went smoothly and within a week of the targeted closing date. All of the information was processed securely and we were kept abreast of any issues that popped up during the loan process. We would definitely use Loandepot again and would recommend them to anyone who asked.

Refinanced through the website, was lied to through out process and tossed between agents when asking questions. Multiple issues with not being called back and adjusted fees on forms. When I voiced my frustration, I was lied to and told all errors would be fixed if I just kept proceeding, and when loan closed I was left high and dry to “take care of the issues at my own expense”. Never again. I hope they sell my loan off to another company.
After message from LoanDept (owner) showing concern, reached out to customer service number listed. Never any response.

Easily the worst mortgage experience of my life from application to servicing. I have had or refinanced probably 20+ mortgages over the past 40 years. I have never been confronted with such incompetence. The application process which I was told was take three weeks max - took more than three months - at least five times I had to resend materials, I'd already sent as they lost them as the loan application was moved from one person to another. Then at closing - the notary shows up with an upcharge of $11,000+ - I sent them away and it took another week to get rid of that. Then we get the servicing of my loan. When I tried to make my first payment I couldn't because they had changed the loan number without telling me. After getting that straightened out - then they changed the payment website without telling me. I then tried to set up payments from my bank (which is very good) and they kept sending them back!!! So I have had to make every payment on their website. Today I tried to make my payment - the URL no longer exists. I tried for two hours to access my account - I would alternately get 'your login info is incorrect' so I went through the procedure of setting up a new password and then the new password wouldn't work. I tried calling - they don't have anyone available, I tried the chat - it was an idiot computer that was worthless. So after trying to pay my bill for many hours this PM - I could not!

Jason was able to get my loan approved in an expedited timeframe with virtually no issues along the way. I was always able to contact him quickly by phone or email for questions. One very minor issue was dealt with extremely fast - and for me, a company that responds to issues quickly and decisively is what makes me a satisfied customer. I also, received excellent rates from loandepot which makes me even happier. Overall, great experience, so far.

I hope this is the same company - I was dealing with Loan Depot in California, with area code 949. I think it depends on your assigned processor or luck.My processor kept losing documents. I sent them tax returnsand they hadn’t opened them 3 months later. They kept asking for the same info over and over… They asked my current mortgage co for a payoff balance before they had reviewed all my documents. The managers refused my request to transfer my loan to another processor. They did not return calls. The sales guy even tried to get involved. A totally screwed up mess. I am reporting them to the regulatory authorities - everything is documented - and would recommend that others do the same.We finally got it one - only 3 months! - with the help of a vice president. However, I just discovered that Loan Depot does not allow automated monthly payments. What century are we living in?

Kevin and his team are excellent. They were efficient and communicative. We were able to refinance quickly. In addition, they have a title company that comes to the home for closing so it was very safe during the pandemic. I highly recommend!
