I’m so grateful to have found KG Strong. I’ve never done strength training or used kettlebells before but was immediately put at ease with a detailed foundational series! When starting classes, I was a little nervous but every instructor was welcoming, motivating, and really attentive! The sense of community is unlike any other gym experience I’ve had. Special shout out to Katie McEwan who works with me 1:1. She is a phenomenal trainer and I’ve learned so much in such a short period of time. If you are looking for a judgement free and welcoming environment while becoming the strongest version of yourself, KG Strong is definitely worth checking out.

Katie and her trainers are consistently excellent, informed, friendly, and community focused. I love coming here for my physical and mental health. The workouts are hard in a good way, flexible to experience level, and fun.

Best group fitness and personal training in Philly. Coaches/trainers are *incredible* and make sure you have correct form, adjusting any and all exercises to make sure you become stronger without injury. Loving the barbell series and rooftop yoga. KG strong will make you stronger. And they're good people too.

When I first heard about the Strong Mom Strength Series, I knew it was something I wanted to try. I was about 5 months postpartum and felt like a stranger in my own body. After 8 sessions with Katie, I'm starting to feel like myself again. My core and legs are noticeably stronger, I have less neck and shoulder pain and stiffness, and I feel motivated to continue building my strength and mobility. I highly, highly recommend this program!

I started at KG Strong roughly three months ago after more than a year a half of lockdown and sedentary living. Going into my first day, I was looking to shed the pandemic pounds and kickstart a healthy lifestyle, and after my first class with Meghan, I was hooked! Not only did I have a great workout with superb coaching, I felt welcomed to the class and didn't feel that the room was dominated by any "alpha" personalities that tend to be present at CrossFit and other types of gyms. I bought a 21-day pass and started coming 2-3 times a week, mainly to Elaine and Taja's classes. I love that each coach has their own style that emphasizes different movements, which meant that I was truly taking a holistic approach to my physical health. Thank you, KG Strong!

Friends have been raving about KG Strong for years, so Katie and her company have been on my radar for some time. The Strong Mom Series was an excellent way to begin to feel more like myself after the birth of my baby. I'm a dancer who hasn't danced in quite some time, and I needed some accountability for starting to incorporate exercise back into my life. It felt so great to connect with my body in this new way, and to connect with other new parents who are doing the same. The semi-private structure allowed for a lot of attentive instruction. Highly recommend!

The Strong Mom Strength Series is exactly what I didn't know I needed, and in so many ways. As a first-time mom about 3.5 months postpartum, I didn't know where to start with "getting back in the saddle" with exercise. All I knew is that I didn't feel comfortable going right back to what I was used to doing in terms of exercise before growing and birthing a tiny human. Katie has put together an amazing program that has made me feel stronger and more comfortable in my body; moreover, I have loved interacting with the other moms. Getting stronger in such a supportive environment has helped me beyond words. I can't recommend this program enough!

Specifically, I had e-mailed Katie at least a month or two before I showed up for my first assessment and she remembered me. That personal touch and attention to each client is very important to me.

All the trainers are amazing. Caring people, really putting their heart into their work. The space is great, sunny and spacious. Equipment is spot on, everything you need no matter your level. I’ve been going for nearly two years, new clients come in and pick things up quickly, some folks are at real mastery level, could get StrongFirst certified themselves. Trainers work out here, beginners work out here, all are welcome and pushed to do better.

At 53 years old, formerly buff amateur body builder with considerable injuries caused from years of working out (with trainers) resulting in chronic pain; ACL replacements in both knees and a rotator cuff injury, I was apprehensive about joining a class at a serious gym with kettlebells, barbell classes, etc. I am writing this review to say, I am a CONVERT! I joined a class with Anna Claire Loper and was separated from the class since I was a beginner and I had mentioned the injuries and my concerns. She was able to give me customized exercises to do while still being part of the class.

The culture and environment at KG Strong are very warm and welcoming, and I have felt this way from my very first e-mail sent to Katie asking about the classes and prices, to each day I walk into the gym. Specifically, I had e-mailed Katie at least a month or two before I showed up for my first assessment and she remembered me. That personal touch and attention to each client is very important to me. I started coming to KG Strong after I had healed from a broken ankle. My stability was not good, my hips were sore, and my leg muscles were very tight from wearing a boot on my right leg for two months. I started to attend personal training classes with Anna Claire two times a week, and I am happy to say it has greatly impacted my life. From pushing me to go harder when I didn't think I could to correcting my form, my stability is almost better than it was before my broken ankle. Additionally, Anna Claire really helps me to understand my body better and how to stretch out when I am sore or tight, which has benefitted me outside of the gym. Being at the gym twice a week, I get to see the other trainers in action during other personal training sessions or during classes, and they don't just show up to class and instruct a group. Instead, they truly coach individuals. They know each client's strengths and weaknesses, and they help us to improve while also watching out for our safety. I eventually found that I am not training to be skinnier, and due to that realization, I feel empowered. I feel strong, and my goals are now to be fit and healthy, to be stronger and faster than I was the day before, and to just keep moving forward. Finally, I can say with confidence that I would not feel that way without the KG Strong team.
