The people at this bank CARE! I've been banking at Hyperion for over 10 years, even when I didn't live in the US for 6 years, and I love this bank. I live 45min away now, do my banking online, on the app and on the phone, but find the inconvenience of driving there when I need to be in-person worth every minute. I will always have an account with Hyperion and highly recommend them.

Here we go again...I really wish I could give this bank great reviews but it isn't looking good here. Every year we have some type of issue with basic fraud handling leaving us with no way to use our card. I have been with this bank about 6 or 7 years now and thought it would get a lot better but it isn't.

Honestly, I'm only writing this review because I saw they have had a slew of bad reviews. I'm not really one to write reviews, and oftentimes the only people who do are motivated by a bad experience or an exceptionally good one. I've been with Hyperion for around 10 years now. They have never been anything but good to me. The tellers are nice enough. The security guards are all great. I've had a few issues with fraudulent charges and they worked diligently to get it solved for me. They refund ATM fees! I really have to emphasize that one because it's awesome. I have never had issues with their online site. It's down very occaisionally, but honestly, if this translates to better security then I have no problem with the minor inconvenience. And as far as hospitality, when my ex-wife and I went in to close out our joint account (it was on good terms) the person we dealt with was very sympathetic and caring. I have never banked with a large bank. It has always been small credit unions and this bank. Maybe other people have expectations based on those larger banks that I'm not aware of. I have nothing to say but good things with this local bank and plan on being a customer of theirs until my money is worthless to me.

They are not bright. If there is a way to screw it up, they will. In one instance I was not being sent bank statements. I called several times and they never arrived. Then they hit me with a fee, they did not tell me about the fee as I never received statements, but they snuck it on my account. - FIND ANY OTHER BANK.

Tried to open a CD by mail with them. Complete failure and customer service staff kept providing conflicting information. Stay away.

I wanted to support this bank which I heard was supporting neighborhood businesses and non-profits. I have held out for a number of years but I give up. Their computer system is often down. They update all night so when I think I can get some work done, I find I can't. I repeatedly get locked out of my account. The slowest teller I have ever met works here. Recently, I have had checking problems The staff is polite and the hours are good but this is my business account and it has to function smoothly so I need a new bank.

The rare bank where you can easily speak with a human and get actual personal service when you need it, plus great mobile banking tools. And nice to do business with a community bank that is also supporting local residents and businesses. Definitely a better banking experience! Highly recommend!
