I rented a car a month in advance. 2 days before pick up, I received a call saying they would not have any vehicles available for the day I booked. I tried calling and seeing if a nearby location could honor my reservation which was declined. They said I had to cancel the reservation and book with a different location, which turned out to be more expensive because of it being last minute.

Very helpful staff at the counter, I got upgraded without even asking because my reservation was at another place that was closed permanently.

Wish I could actually review the car rental experience but we weren’t able to rent our car. Despite a reservation and despite assurances that the rental office will stay open for delays, they were closed when our train arrived an hour late. Zero information. Zero help. We had to change our reservation and take a $40 Uber to the airport during rush hour to pick up a car there. Thankfully, they had one available there and the process was relatively easy. After reading all the negative reviews we should have know better than to book a car here. If there is even a remote possibility that your train may arrive after 5, do book a rental here.

Never go to this place,
Overbooking !
No solution or help at this desk.
Our prepaid reservation was not anymore available the next morning, and the new reservation done with customer service was not available at all, no car !
Here everything is impossible, the team doesn't have the level required to manage.
We had to go on our own to the airport, where the desk was really helpfull.

Awful experience with these people. They keep issuing charges of $68 a day but have not explained what the charges are for and they're impossible to get ahold of over the phone. They have not responded to my emails

Very disappointed. I am unsure if the global outages are contributing to my experience from hertz and hope to get some clarification. I rented a car for 5 days recieved confirmation via email and also called their customer support hours before the reservation. The representative assured me that the reservation was set despite my comcerns given everytime I attempted to check-in the page on my phone and my wife's phone would freeze. Our reservation was at 10pm due to flight delays we arrived at 1 am. There were no agents in the building and we tried calling but no one answered despite their answering machine stating they worked "24 hours." One of the drivers there drove up to us and said "there is a board with names if you don't see your name on it there is nothing we can do for you". I am currently on the phone now trying to talk to an agent and have been on the phone for 45 min. This was a horrible experience. Not acceptable. DO NOT USE THEM. POOR SERVICE. INCONSIDERATE. LIED ABOUT BEING 24HRS.

I just made a reservation for returning a rental car to this location, but after reading all the horrible experiences from other customers I am canceling and using Uber instead. So many bad reviews and management just write to tell they are sorry and will review the situation is not acceptable.

Worst experience ever for my business. Never ever rent at this hertz location or Thirtfty. Rude and unprofessional person at the counter. Waste of time and missing cars half of the time.

The entrance to the rental car return parking lot is about 50 meters straight from the back entrance of Amtrak Philadelphia Station. (Take the road towards N 30th street and make a U-turn just before you exit) (You will see a ‘Rental Car Return’ sign on the left, make a U-turn and return the rental car to the underground parking lot.)

Hertz Car Rental at Amtrak Philadelphia is a go-to option for those arriving by train. It’s situated at 2951 Market Street, offering a variety of vehicles to suit different needs. The branch operates Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on weekends from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Customers can choose from luxury cars, SUVs, and trucks for their travels. Reviews often highlight the convenience of the location and the helpfulness of the staff, despite occasional slow service. It’s an ideal spot for renting a car to explore Philadelphia at your leisure.

Be warned: cars reek like cigarettes. Staff extremely unhelpful and lack empathy.

First of all, I am sad to see all of the horrible experiences reported about this location and see it continue.
I rented a car over the weekend ahead of time. When I arrived to pick it up, everything was going as usual until I was asked if I wanted to accept their insurance. As I have dozens and dozens of times with them and other rental companies, I declined and told them I understood that I was accepting personal responsibility for anything that happens to the car. The young woman that was helping me was very kind and professional, but the more senior woman next to her butted in and stated that if I don't accept insurance, they have the right to decline a car to me. When I tried to explain that I have never ever been told this and it made no sense, she proceeded to say that its state law, Hertz policy, and that "we are losing cars to accidents". I explained that having a car insured for zero dollars or a million dollars makes no difference when a car is totaled and regardless, Hertz has their own insurance so its all irrelevant anyway. She absolutely refused to engage with me and just said again, that if I declined insurance I would be refused my rental. The young woman helping me had a look of confusion on her face and I think she knew the information was wrong, but she just went along. This behavior is beyond unprofessional, its unethical and likely illegal because she is lying to customers about laws and policy, possibly for no reason other than a power trip or maybe its to just get more money out of people.

I would give negative rating for this place. I have never felt this humiliated, embarrassed and intimidated in my life. I made a reservation at this place for an SUV for three day weekend. My reservation was at 9 AM and I reached the place 1050 AM and there was a line and it took me 15 mins to reach the counter and by the time I reached, it turned out that I just passed 2 hour pick up grace period by 5 minutes. Another guy at the counter was processing my request and was about to give me car key but the manager told him to not give the vehicle because I’m 5 mins late for pick up. Manager was bent upon saying that I’m late and that she can’t give the car. When I tried to talk to her again if there is anything she can do to help me, she asked me to leave the place and then threatened me that she will call police. I left the place speechless and cancelled all my weekend plans.
This was the most unprofessional, rude and unhelpful manager I’ve ever met. Lacks basic education and courtesy of being in a service industry.
I would never rent from Hertz Car rental again in my life.

Reserved a car in the Hertz app for price X. Arrived for pickup, and the price has gone up. Apparently, this location changed its fees to match the airport. But why is that the customer’s problem??? I made a reservation at a given price. And apparently, that’s irrelevant to Hertz. Minus one young lady, everyone else was complete apathetic to my plight. “Well, cancel the reservation.” SMH. Seriously, what’s the point of a reservation if Hertz will renege on its presented price? Ridiculous.
