Cool little shop with a great back patio area. I got a really engaging novel—two chapters in and I’m hooked! Kay was friendly and helpful; she even let me post up for a bit to charge my phone before getting back on the road. If I lived in town I would totally be a regular!

Looking for an awesome book shop with a supportive community and fun events? Harriet's has a superb selection of books and events that make you feel like you're a part of something bigger. I spent some time downstairs writing while attending the Sisterhood Sit-In trolley tour. If you're in Philadelphia, a definite must-see for book lovers.
Looking for an exceptional bookseller with events and a supportive community? Harriet's has exceptional books and events that give you hope of belonging. I wrote downstairs on my way out to the sorority sit-in. Harriet's is a must-see if you're in Philadelphia!
Bonus: individual washroom with no label. Individual toilets without labels! Decoration and music on point ☝️ decoration and music on point!
I can't wait to be back. I can't wait to go back ?

This is such a beautiful space. We were looking for a place to hold a gathering for women of color authors and when I reached out to Harriett's they were very quick to respond and supportive. Kaley and Elijah were there during our event and extremely kind and helpful the entire time. Definitely recommend visiting to see the space and if you're looking for a venue for an event, consider doing it here!

I really enjoy this store. They have so many different genres including children's books. What I also like is the aesthetic. They've done a good job with the use of space. Also Harriet's has events at their store to promote other artists through music and or spoken word. I just had the opportunity to attend their sisterhood sit in event! We were able to visit Black owned businesses around Philadelphia and learn about new products and services while supporting small businesses. If you can get a ticket to this event, I would highly suggest it. Support Harriet's bookshop, support local small businesses, support women, and learn in the process.

Absolutely LOVE this little bookshop. It's so beautiful and colorful and warm inside. And Black-owned. They have an awesome selection of books by Black, BIPOC, and non-Black writers. Books on food, novels, memoirs and much more! They have a swanky used book section too downstairs. I also really appreciate how they tie up your books with a bow, like a gift. It feels special. It is special. Keep this energy.

This place will make you want to spend thousands. Their selection of books are diverse and enlightening. A beautiful display & design of monochrome walls and shelving with towers of books perched precariously here & there. Ugh. I went in and spent an hour just reading book covers. Love this place. Will def be spending a majority of my paycheck here. If you're on the fence about stopping in, even if they don't have what you're looking for, get off the fence & stop in for more. More of a diverse selection than you could imagine
