Had an absolutely horrible experience recently. We booked an appointment over a month out, and drove an hour, to be told that we would have to wait “at least half an hour” to be seen because they were “really busy”.
The woman at the front desk was extremely rude, and didn’t offer any solution besides putting our pet in a crate or waiting. If we wanted to put the dog in a crate, we would’ve just went to Petco. They didn’t even know the name or gender of our dog. The groomer we were supposed to see did not come up to speak to us or even meet our dog. Unbelievably unprofessional. Do not come here if you want your pet to be taken care of.
Edit: Thank you so much for the prompt response from the owner. I’ll be leaving up the one star review since we were never contacted or given a heads up that you were running late. The woman at the front desk confirmed she had been “meaning to call”. When they were contacted at noon, this was also not communicated. Thank you for also publicly posting the name of the person who had the appointment, and sharing the dog’s behavioral issues with everyone! Very professional.
Communicating with your clients would have made everything much easier. Best of luck with business!

We have been taking our dog to Sam at the Fishtown location regularly for grooms since 2020 and she is always amazing. All of the staff and the owner are friendly and helpful. Crumb is nervous about being groomed but they are so wonderful at Ham + Bone I don’t feel like I have to worry about her. The owner is also very supportive to our foster activities and has generously donated or discounted grooms for our especially crusty foster dogs to help them get adoption ready. I can’t recommend them enough!

We love bringing our dog here, we used to live nearby and since we’ve moved it’s a lot harder to come here for grooming but we don’t mind going out of the way considering it’s really worth it. Amy is always really wonderful and we can tell they really care about our dog. Our dog has severe anxiety and this is the only place that goes above and beyond to accommodate for that and also have her coming out looking and smelling her best!

My puppy loves Ham + Bone! He’s had such a happy experience that every time we walk past the shop, he’s begging to go inside! I love the job they’ve done with his grooming, and will continue to shop here!

Took my dog here twice. The first time service was ok. The haircut was decent. The second time, I booked the appointment and received a series of automated texts, which is standard. Since this process happens often when you make a reservation, I ignored the texts. I am an adult, and I know when I booked an appointment. Apparently, not responding gets your appointment canceled. I usually do not write reviews, but I have never booked an appointment for anything and get my appointment canceled because I didn’t respond to an automated text.
Ham + bone is not an award winning shop, the grooming is ok, nothing special. Honestly, it's kinda overpriced but it’s fishtown. There are plenty of other spots so I'd suggest trying those out first or make sure you respond to every text.

This was our first time at Ham + Bone Fishtown but I think we’ve found our spot! Jayla did such an amazing job with Samson and checked in with me throughout his time there which was greatly appreciated. When I picked him up I could tell that he was very comfortable. I took him to another place in fishtown and he seemed terrified which is why I haven’t returned. Thanks to the Ham + Bone fishtown l team for taking such good care of our Sammy! He also loves his new toy! ? ?

Best dog products - well priced, high quality, well informed professional staff who are knowledgeable of the stores products. Grooming services are exceptional. Our dog Katie "beelines" to the front door every time we walk her by the store. Our dog Katie loves Ham and Bone. Great vibe! Highly recommend! 5 stars!!! Thanks, Victor

I have been taking my dog for grooming here for the past year and a half. While they do an amazing job at grooming sadly I will not be returning due to poor customer service. I scheduled a groom for my dog a month ago and when I brought him in for his appointment I was told his appointment was canceled. This was after I confirmed his appointment the day prior. I did not receive a phone call informing me that his appointment was canceled and appointments are always booked about a month out.Once inside I was greeted my a woman named Kerace. I explained to her my situation and she let me know the next availability wouldn't be until a month from now. I asked to speak with the owner and she let me know the owner would reach out to me the next day (I still haven't received a phone call). I then asked if I could speak to another employee to get a second opinion on possibly having my dog get seen that day possibly at a later time. When I mentioned this Keraces' entire mood changed and she told me "I was being demanding and not taking no for an answer". This was the first time I've been disrespected at Ham and Bone and because of this incident I will have to find another salon.

I love Amy and the whole crew! My Bernese Mountain Dog, Stella, is always so excited to see the team (even though she hates water!), and I feel at ease knowing she’ll be surrounded by so much love. Whether it’s a bath or a full groom, they do an excellent job, and Stella never fails to come back looking like a puppy. I can’t recommend them enough!

I take my Blue Heeler here for grooming and the staff is always super nice and knowledgeable when I have questions/concerns pertaining to him. Definitely recommend this place for dog food, toys, and groomings!!!
