Attractive well run grocery store. Check out is awkward. Booze check out on one side of store, grocery on the other. Sometimes lines at both locations. SIX MONTHS LATER. Not much has changed. Checkout still less than smooth. Self checkout machines ridiculously demanding. Nov 4,2024 - no improvement

Supreme effort and incredible selection. These numerous 5-star ratings are sincere. Absolutely, best location imaginable chosen - very near 30 St. Station, Universities, corporate staff.
The team here are eager to help at every turn. Also, ginormous beer selection, some sit-down dining, multitudes of prepared offerings. Overall beautifully, carefully, neatly presented where so many prepared meal packages just lunge and say, 'buy me !' No kidding.

Giant has become my favorite supermarket ever since they opened a brand new, state of the art store at 23rd & Arch Sts a couple years ago. Finally, a “real” supermarket in Center City! No more going to local markets with questionable selection(s) and prices almost doubled, and no more having to drive to the PA or NJ burbs. Both my in-store and delivery experiences have all been excellent.

Such a shame, it's a lovely store, but already suffering from the typical Giant management. Today the pre-made sandwich counter was blocked by a sanitation worker enjoying a conversation with his pals apparently unaware that his dirty mop bucket was in contact with the food to be sold. Thank you but no, never again.

I often go to Giant, mostly purchasing fruits and vegetables and usually I keep this rating at 4-5. Butt as of late have been disappointed. I purchased watermelons (in Oct so I realize they were out of season) but both times the inside was rancid. So $16 down drain. I disliked that.

I had a horrible experience in that store after having shopped there since they opened. On Monday, I went there after I left the office and finished working out at the gym. I live nearby. After I paid for my purchases, two young, very skinny black men approached me and demanded I open my bag while they checked my receipt. After they realized they had made a mistake, and after I told them they should make sure someone is a shoplifter before approaching them, they both literally ran off. I walked to customer service, near the escalators, to ask a manager what just happened and why. The clerk was off-putting, telling me the managers, Jessica and Mike, were unavailable. The one skinny black man who had accosted me came over and stood there staring at me while I was waiting for a manager who never came. Then he walked off. The location is great, but the level of help working there is out of their element. We will go back to shopping at Giant, 20 miles out of Philadelphia, from now on. The experience at the Riverwalk Giant Supermarket was terrifying.

My party and I went to the Salad Works section of the store and saw a sign that said be back in 10 minutes.
We continued to shop and half an hour later no one at the counter.
However, the items we purchased were very good with no complaints.

This is my 2nd visit since the first incident I had with a manager with dreadlocks. Don’t know her name but she clearly remembered.
Could not get out the garage. Walked back upstairs after backing out from kiosk. She was totally indifferent, and told me to go back downstairs and try again. She would be waiting. Not her problem, I understand but customer service skills are totally lacking.
Her attitude needs work from a customer service standpoint or maybe it’s just me.
The store itself is wonderful but her attitude really needs some work.
I won’t be back. Hopefully she gets better. Just some constructive criticism.

Somebody seriously needs to tell them or send a memo that their food the prepared food in the back Fried Chicken really needs work it's disgusting it's burnt and I do mean burnt it shouldn't even be sold to the public who's ever making the fried chicken and the prepared foods in the back need to be recommended for putting that stuff out there for people to get sick and purchase I wouldn't even accept that food free seriously you need work you guys need work with your prepared foods
