Wonderful service! I was referred to this cleaner through Neiman Marcus. I called to asked where they would send their garments that were stained or needed cleaning. Neiman’s recommended GEM and I am pleased!

Extremely racist establishment. I was shocked at how nasty and mean the old man who worked there was. Shame on you

The man who runs this place is ignorant and rude. It’s as others have reported-he’s a bully. A bully, who judging by his responses to the people on here, has no sense of just how uncomfortable he makes people feel. Maybe he doesn’t care, but he is ignorant and a hypocrite, and while I’ve never written a review like this before—I felt the need to say as much. Certainly not (to borrow the words of another reviewer)-a community oriented business.

I’ve actually never posted a google review before, but feel inclined to after my experience here. My partner and I rode our bikes to the area and all the bike racks were completely full. The owner of this establishment began harassing us for trying to lock our bikes to a a pole that is on the public sidewalk, saying that we were going to block the path and he would have to pay money to get the city to fix the pole when our bikes destroy it - all of which is not true.I understand some of the frustration with cyclists and I try to be extra cognizant of that and be as respectful as possible when riding, and I promise that we were not leaving our bikes blocking anything or causing damage to this pole. When we suggested maybe he advocate for more bike racks in the area, he simply said “don’t get me started on cyclists”I know I am writing from one experience so anyone can take this with a grain of salt, but this does not seem like a community positive business based on my personal experience.

Owner of this business parks in the loading zone for hours on end, but verbally harassed me, calling me an idiot on the sidewalk, for parking there for 15 minutes beyond the 30 minute mark, for a total of 45 minutes. Additionally, I live across the street. This is my neighborhood! The owner continuously called me an idiot in front of neighbors on the street. Incredibly unprofessional and embarrassing for him, and a heads up if you choose to park in front of his car, that's also in the loading zone.

I’ve been living on the street for over 5 years. Not only do I take my business here but I see the owner Tom daily. The quality of work is next to none. If you want your belongs treated with care there’s no other place. Above all you get more then you pay for. Also to Toms defense, he is a personality and on this quaint street it’s hard to find people who can take a joke. If you are one of the rare few that have a sense of humor you’ll be treated to a few laughs while visiting.

$25 per suit for dry cleaning with "at least a week" to complete. Super rude and arrogant owner. Also, hours are not posted on the shop so you never know when they are open. Save your time and money and go to green street cleaners down the street. The owner of Gem literally told me to go there instead when I asked him why it was so expensive at his shop.

We love gem cleaners and the owner Tom! He is a whiz and really knows what he is doing. Our pup got sick on our comforter and we brought it to him the next morning and tada - Tom made it look brand new! After reading other people's comments, I am sorry people are so offended by Tom because they are missing out. Tom cares about his business and forms a relationship with his costumers. He is a riot and is always making me and my boyfriend laugh. So to all the karens & kens out there bothered by Tom, stop being so sensitive and lighten up!! Get your broom out of you know where and get your dry cleaning done by the best!

I had great experience here. After reading the other reviews for Gem Cleaners, I was intimidated but I didn't trust any of my local dry cleaners with my 40 year old wedding dress and I heard Gem was the place to go for vintage restorations. Tom, the owner, can definitely be eccentric, but most geniuses are. I had a vintage wedding dress that was yellowed, stained, and damaged. Tom was able to remove the stain and lighten the color of the dress, but not so much so that I lost the vintage feel of it. The dress was perfect for my big day. I also want to give a special thank you to Tatyana, for making the necessary alterations to my dress and veil. She is an artisan. In short, if you want the highest quality workmanship and aren't faint of heart, Gem Cleaners is the way to go!

Tried to do business with them. Presumably the owner (who apparently thought his being a j*** was funny - he wasn't) said he was slow and expensive. He wasn't lying - a week to clean one cashmere blazer @ $22.50. Don't know how he stays in business.

Obviously the man that works there is a bully! He is harassing a female as I write this for sitting in her car minding her own business! It is sad when the color of a persons skin or their gender dictates how someone treats you. Hope this person is not the owner because if he is, his business will definitely not last for to much longer!
