Very inexpensive shop for plants. Over 50 starter plants at the $4 price range. $1 cuttings, highly recommend it. Friendly and honest staff.

If you're in Philly and you love plants, you need to visit, City Planter! The plant selection is fantastic, you can tell they know and love what they are doing. There are terrariums and wall installations along with the more standard succulents and potted plants you find in other shops.
Make sure you stop and talk with their team. They are brimming with tips, tricks, and facts. I could have easily talked for another hour or two.
Don't miss their installation wall by the counter. While it's not for sale, it shows you what's possible if you put in the time and effort needed to grow something really beautiful.

I'll be a forever customer here. They are so knowledgeable and helpful if you have any questions about plants. I brought my 5 foot tall tree into the store to get tips on how to care for it. All of the workers were so supportive and educational. I don't know much about plants and they helped me understand how to care for my plants and get started with other plants. They have a great selection of plants.

City Planter is fantastic. Even after moving to the suburbs (basically 15 miles away), I come into City Planter to get my plants because the plants are well-maintained, the staff is knowledgeable, and the store is always well-stocked and organized. I'm totally loyal to this store.

I bought some organic soil a few weeks ago. I was trying to figure out my I was seeing gnats around the house. Today I went to add more soil to my plant and the bag was filled with gnats. I’ve tried calling and no one answers. Never again.
