Good gym, clean overall and friendly employees, but they’ve signed up too many members already in non-peak season and I’m afraid of what this place is gonna look like in Jan-March. I don’t go during the busiest hours and it’s still sometimes packed (not comparable to peak hours, though). I get that gyms do the whole “sign up more members than the place can reasonably accommodate and assume only 10% will use it” thing, but I think CF clientele actually does use the gym, which makes it uncomfortably full at times.I feel kind of bad writing this because I really like the place otherwise, but also feel people should know what they’re getting into, as it can be especially intimidating to get started when everyone is frustrated, cranky, and impatient because all the equipment is in use.

This place is honestly a pretty great gym - only real problem is that its outrageously small so it's hard to walk in and guarantee you're going to be able to just hop into your work out. Also it's way too expensive, but that depends on what you're looking for - if you want a sauna, a super nice and clean facility that you may or may not be able to have a seamless workout in if it's after 4pm, and some massage tables then go for it! If you're looking for a place that's more just about moving weight - this is not the place for you

Gym is great, clean and the workers are fantastic. I think city fitness over all is expensive, for a small space, but there’s lots to offer. The workers do a great job of keeping it clean and up to date. When there’s broken equipment it’s always fixed immediately. Only downfall is that we pay over $100 a month and there’s 3 toilets. And they all are always out of order and don’t flush. You’d think with so many members who I’m sure pay the same as me, they’d have enough money to get better toilets

It’s a pretty good gym, with good, well maintained weights and machines. It has a couple of TVs but not so many that I feel assaulted by TV (as I did at Planet fitness). City Fitness has plenty of capacity, but it is definately expensive. I pay for 2 memberships; one for me and one for my daughter, who barely uses it. I would love it if they offered a per visit membership as many places do. I have looked into periodically pausing my daughter’s membership and it is cumbersome. The gym owns a lot of computerized attendance technology and it seems eminently possible that they could add a per visit membership onto their system, or at least a different membership level. I have also asked them to look into getting a Roman Chair that goes all the way parallel and into purchasing the kind of 5 lb weights that can be added to the stack on a machine, to create interim lifts, but it seems apparent that the lovely staff is mostly free of the kind of authority which would allow for those sorts of requests. Other than those admittedly minor complaints I’m pretty happy with this place.

I’ve struggled with a severe eating disorder my entire life. I have always felt insecure about my body and it has kept me away from improving my health. The staff at city fitness makes me feel welcomed and encourage me to take control of my life. The gym itself is very well equipped not only with weights, machines, studios, recovery equipment, but knowledgeable and kind staff. I have never felt comfortable in a gym until i signed up for CF. High quality gym with much more then the essentials, and many paths to reaching your goals, all backed by staff that actually acknowledge you as a person and the goal you will accomplish.

Overall it’s a great experience, the equipment is pretty clean, the machines are in good condition. All the staff a very friendly and the complimentary In-body has been pretty helpful for my own fitness journey. The only con I can think of is some of the benchpress racks are pushed up against the wall so it’s hard to get around behind them to grab heavier weights. Still, its a great place to work out.

I moved to this area recently and found this little gem of a gym when I was out looking for food lol! Signed up right away with Alicia who was so so helpful. The most important things to me are squat racks and platforms. They not only have both but they also have a couple fitness studio rooms, a stretching area, turf and nice locker rooms. It’s only a short walk from my location which was crucial for my needs. I had my first workout today and didn’t have any issues. I look forward to coming here again to this clean facility and having an occasional post-workout shake.

Love this place! Latest equipment, friendly, clean and comfortable for beginners. The sauna and aqua massage chairs are a huge plus!

This gym is so outrageously expensive. Now that I want to cancel I feel like I am in a cell phone commercial joke about hidden fees. It is crazy you are locked in once you join because getting out of a membership costs big time. I've also gotten random charges on top of my monthly membership for "facility dues" of $60. Also you always have to wait for treadmills and machines it's so crowded. Such a scam they're definitely making a great profit.

This is a smaller location but I love this gym. The studio classes are excellent, the instructors are great and help with any modifications. The space itself is nice (smaller than other locations but great for the location). The service and accessibility are what help keep me going.

City Fitness is a scam. I went to the one on East Passyunk and they don't have the best equipment. The place is so small that they can't add anymore new and different equipment. It makes it worse that the place is small because it gets so crowded that you can't even get a good workout in. The employees aren't the best either. I will give credit where credit is due, they are very friendly and nice. They will remember you and make friends with you. However, as an employee, they aren't good. They didn't explain anything to me about how the pricing or termination works. This is the first gym I have gone to so I didn't know much going in. So I have no idea that there was a termination fee (of $100) as it was never explained to me. They told me that if I wanted to terminate my contract, I need to let them know 30 days in advance and they will still charge me for those 30 days. They are just trying to finesse as much money as they can before you leave. I would recommend that you go to any other gym but City Fitness to be completely honest with you. It's basically $70 a month (they do it bi-weekly) and they make you do a thrive session to make it $50 a month (still bi-weekly). So overall, City Fitness is just a scam, they don't have the best equipment, the employees aren't the best, and there are just way better options that will probably do better by you. Don't go.

Great overall! Very clean gym, modern, and well lit. When stuff breaks they actively try to fix it. Friendly staff. Great shake bar. Only challenge is everything is a little cramped and it's a bit expensive at $70+/month.

It’s a great gym overall! The staff is always welcoming at the front desk. The equipment meets all your needs. It is definitely the cleanest gym I have ever been a member of

I love this gym! The employees are the friendliest I've ever seen, the space is always very clean, and there's a good variety of classes. Even though I've always disliked yoga classes I took in the past, I decided to try Bruno's yoga class, and I feel like he made yoga finally click for me and I understand why people like it. I also just took HIIT barre with Vanessa, and I think it'll be my new favorite class- super challenging with targeted burns. Their matcha smoothie is also very yummy.

Great facility and super friendly staff. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. There’s an awesome atmosphere at this gym and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great place to work out.
